Other little bits and pieces that fall lovingly into place (or bitterly, if you're Draco), and this first chapter sets Harry up for a difficult (but plausible) sixth year.

Most children lead lives of overall happiness- they have parents, go to school, make friends, (eventually) find love. But as Harry discovers one late afternoon, there was one girl that lived a life of needless suffering, one girl that was desperate for an escape, one girl...that would change him forever.

The Hunter is an unlikely enemy of the Dark Lord. He is a muggle who hunts Wizards and is very sucessful at it. In fact he has been created in very similar circumstances to our young Potter. This story shows the Hunter's creation against the backdrop of the Trio's hunt for a Horcrux in Eastern Europe. A very dark and angsty fic. The story has very violent things happen, but I have tried to avoid being directly graphic in my descriptions. Also has a lot of religious references, particularly concerning the Roman Catholic Church. There is also some (very gently) implied shipping between R/Hr and G/H.

Ron doesn't realize how much Harry and Hermione care about him, until a Quidditch accident lands him in the hospital wing.

Draco Malfoy never knew that when his father died, he'd turn out the way he did. He thought he'd turn out better. And he spent hours, or what seemed like hours, gazing at the bloody stars and wondering what it'd be like if he died tomorrow.

Harry would have liked a little peace and quiet after the Battle of Hogwarts to decide what he wanted to do next (although rebuilding his relationship with Ginny was definitely high on the list). But any such hopes were dashed by unexpected threats to his godson and to Kingsley's position as Minister, and once again, he and his friends found themselves in a courtroom taking on an old enemy ... Welcome to my first HP fanfic. This is how I envision the Seventh book.
