Against the Tide
Bren
- Story Summary:
- Seventh-year, continuation of Red Tide Rising. This fic continues with the story, with important contributions from smaller characters like Luna, Tonks, Charlie, twins, Neville, Morag and Blaise (girl). Also, OCs continue to develop. This first chapter is simply excellent, and I know you'll agree if you read it. Please review.
Chapter 02
02/14/2004Seventh-year. Part Two of the critically acclaimed (read: people really liked it) story
Chapter 05
04/16/2004Seventh-year continuation of Red Tide Rising. The world isn't going quite as planned, but the characters try to stay upbeat. Draco runs into the errant Professor Gryffindor, and comes to realize sometimes you have to change your strategy half way through the game. The twins play the cruelest joke possible, while several new students come to Hogwarts, just as several horrible events lead older students to leave and enter the Auror's College. The pace is picking up, and I encourage you all to read this chapter-- it's very good.
Chapter 12
09/10/2004In this continuation of Red Tide Rising, the Christmas Holidays are just around the corner. However, there are a few problems. Draco is having financial problems, not to mention problems with his fair-weather Gryffindor friends, and those Gryffindor friends have so many problem of their own, they haven't really noticed yet. Naturally, the chapter is fantastic. Please read and review
Chapter 13
09/18/2004This chapter, in a continuation of Red Tide Rising, greets the return of Professor Gryffindor, in dramatic fashion (she insisted on it). Draco learns his part in the assumed triumph of the Dark Lord, and Ron manages to get himself kicked out of the Burrow. But why? You'll have to read to find out.
Chapter 14
10/20/2004Seventh-year continuation of Red Tide Rising. In this chapter, half of Christmas holidays passes in grand drama. Harry and Ron visit the Dursleys, Briar returns to Hogwarts, and Draco entertains a marriage proposal. Read and review
Chapter 15
11/26/2004The muse is back!! Lovely long chapter, very detailed, which advances the story (finally, after all the 'transition'...). There's a wedding, a bloodletting, a gorgeous setting. Briar has her baby, and a reckoning with the father; Percy gets married; Ron and Harry finally make up, and set out on adventure... well, just read it.
Chapter 16
01/06/2005Sirius returns in this chapter (plausibly) and a chain of events begins.
Chapter 17
02/16/2005In this chapter, a bit of post-Christmas angst from Harry; Draco has a profound realization about he and his mother; Hermione finds a few nifty Rune manuscripts which may help her to, finally!, answer the question that has eluded her for years: does the Killing Curse have a counter? Also heavily featured is a Weasley New Year's Eve party, with all our friends.
Chapter 18
11/18/2005The students return to Hogwarts from winter holidays. Death Eaters attacks have tapered off, but internal squables are tearing the school apart. How can Harry hope to defeat Voldemort without the army Dumbledore told him he needed?
