Harry comes to terms with Sirus's death, with the help of Casey, who's becoming a good friend.
Harry & Casey grow closer. Dudley's gang causes trouble. Dumbledore teaches Harry a new charm. Remus and Harry have dinner with the Ashers. Harry's mosaics are a hit and bring about some unwanted attention.
Harry and Casey discover the delights of water parks during a heat wave. The Ashers plan to take Harry someplace special for his birthday, but Vernon has other ideas.
Casey and Harry have more "philosophical discussions" at lunch. We learn a bit about Remus's past. Harry and Casey are attacked by Dementors. Casey is invited to spend a day at the Weasleys, and much fun is had by all -- well, by everyone but Ginny. Ron finally admits to Harry that he fancies Hermione -- but will he ever tell her?
Ginny and her mum have a talk about Ginny's feelings for Harry. Ron begins to let his feelings for Hermione show. Photos in the paper lead to problems for Harry. Remus stays with Harry at the Dursleys as an added protection for a while. Vernon is not at all pleased, as you can imagine!

Get out your hankies -- Harry says goodbye to Casey and her family. Harry gets his new glasses and deals with Colin. A relative of hers gives Harry wonderful gifts. Dumbledore brings Harry a way to deal with his grief.
Harry goes through The Refiner's Fire. Will he survive?
Harry begins to learn how to control his new power, and his friends have to learn how to be safe around him. Harry learns of a serious new threat.
Back to Hogwart's for everyone. Harry has problems in the corridors. Classes begin and Snape is his normal "charming" self toward Harry, but Harry surprises him in an interesting way
Gryffindor's Quidditch team starts practicing together. Harry and Ron have come up with some interesting ideas and are putting them to good use. An attack during practice leads to some dire consequences.
Hermione helps Harry catch up with his Transfiguration homework, which is a preparation for the Animagus transformation. He gets out of the hospital and realizes something about his life needs to change, then does what he can to bring about that change. Harry gets a rare smile from McGonagall, and does very well with his homework from both Dumbledore and McGonagall.
A trip to Hogsmeade, an encounter with Malfoy, and Harry's creative way to get Ginny back on a broom after her fall.
Harry learns just what his rage can do. Snape shocks Malfoy. Ginny gets a new broom. The first Quidditch game of the year is played, and the D.A. meetings start again.
Harry talks to Ron about how to improve the D.A.'s performance in real battle. The D.A. deals with Boggart!Dementors. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny go Christmas shopping in Hogsmeade and have a variety of adventures there.
Harry is seriously injured while trying to save his friends from an attack by Malfoy and his friends. Hagrid comes to the rescue to help the injured boy.
Harry's health improves and he's allowed to go back to class. They go to the Yule Ball and have a rather unusual time in some ways.
Christmas at The Burrow, with loads of fun presents and some angst as well, and Dumbledore has assignments for the Trio and Ginny.
Fangirls, the Animagus transformation, a visit to Hogsmeade and a scary situation in the middle of the night.
Harry has an unexpected vision. He offers his friends some advice on the Animagus transformation, with some humorous results. Hermione gets angrywith Ron, and Harry tries to help them make up.
Harry has a serious talk with each of the young women in his life. Ron’s decided he’d rather live a dog’s life. Harry has an interesting memory.

Harry has a surprise for Remus. Harry and Ron have surprises for their girlfriends. Dumbledore has a surprise for Harry. Harry has a surprise for Ron. Harry and Ron have a surprise for Hagrid. Somebody else has a surprise in store for Harry and Ron. Dumbledore gets a not very nice surprise himself. So do the Weasleys. Ginny shocks her mother. Enjoy!
Harry does his best to look after Ron and Buckbeak while awaiting rescue, but there are some surprises waiting for him – not necessarily nice surprises, either. For you action junkies, this is an action chapter!

The group faces reaction to their battle from people in Diagon Alley, and worry about how things will go at Hogwarts. We find out where Rita Skeeter’s been. Winky joins Harry’s household. Harry falls victim to a “Weasley Plot.” The gang returns to Hogwarts and have another D.A. meeting. The D.A. hears about the battle first-hand.
Ginny’s having trouble finding a broom that suits her. There’s a break-out at Azkaban. Harry overhears something that breaks his heart and learns a lesson about love.
: The attack on Harry has spawned another media circus, but Harry thinks of a way to fight back. The last Quidditch game of the season leads to interesting results (hint: mayhem follows. . .). Poor Harry is, as usual, up to his pretty green eyes in danger.

After their last exam, the trio face an old enemy. Hermione’s parents learn the truth about what she gets up to at school.
Poor Ron is heartbroken because Hermione doesn’t know him. But guess who she DOES remember? Ginny and Harry have a delightful afternoon with a bizarre ending.
Ron and Hermione spend some quality time together. A pick-up Quidditch game ends in a race. Harry has an uncomfortable talk with a younger student. He and Ron run with Remus in the moonlight. Hermione still needs help on her Animagus transformation. Harry surprises Remus and gets a surprise in return.
Harry and his friends are surprised to see several well-known faces as well as strangers at the Head Table during the Leaving Feast. Arthur and Molly get some news that shouldn’t really surprise them, but does.
Harry gives Neville some advice on romance. With Harry – especially in this story, poor guy – nothing, not even the trip home, is ever simple.
