Upset about the fact that his brother has been Sorted into Slytherin, Sirius Black turns to Remus Lupin for solace. He ends up revealing more than he intended.

Afterwards, Sirius could never forgive himself for not noticing sooner that he was being distracted...

Remus Lupin once had a relationship with a certain Sirius Black, but after the ultimate betrayal he turned his back on the wizarding world. Now that Dumbledore has invited him back to Hogwarts to teach, he is plagued by heartbreaking flashbacks, moments of desperation, and guilt until coming face to face with Sirius Black at last...

Sirius is terribly clumsy sometimes and awful at keeping his porridge in the bowl where it belongs. The porridge that belonged in his bowl has slipped out, somehow, onto the crisp slacks that cover legs belonging to a certain R.J. Lupin (the embroidery on the pocket told Sirius so), who has a pale face but kind eyes.

Sirius makes yet another sacrifice and Remus isn't exactly happy about it.

Remus wants to know if Sirius has missed him. As it turns out, Sirius hasn't, for one simple reason.

They are sleeping outside. Even though Remus protested quite fervently earlier, he does admit that it is awful nice to sleep out here now, under the stars and the under a canopy of leafy branches that trick him into thinking he is in a rainforest. A bird in the distance sounds like a toucan and Remus pretends that this place is a tropical paradise, complete with a wild river (the still pond) and wild animals (James, Sirius, and Peter).

Sometimes things can just sneak up on you when you're not really paying attention, which is par for the course for Sirius, who never does anything quite normally.

Petunia Dursley has hated her sister and anything to do with magic for the better part of ten years. On Lily’s wedding day, Petunia puts aside her feelings and grudgingly takes her place as maid-of-honour.
