This is the companion piece to my other J/L one-shot, Just the Girl. It is essentially the same fic, but from Lily's perspective. I wanted to explore her emotions a little bit more so we can all understand what it was that made her fall for James.

What really happened that Halloween night? It was a night of murder and mayhem, but who killed whom? How did Voldemort mark Harry?

My life is all about memories: Some good, some bad, some utterly embarrassing. But, then again, what else is to be expected of the daughter of the famous Harry Potter? But still even though I have many, I'd like to tell you about my very first memory....

An enchanted journal exposes the secrets of Lily Evans' past, revealing that she was far more than simply the clever Muggleborn mother of Harry, wife of James and first love of Severus – she was also the conduit of an ancient pact sworn centuries before, whose task never truly ended upon her death.
