Being sorted into Gryffindor was possibly the worst fate imaginable for Sirius Black, eldest son of a long line of ancient and noble pure-blooded Slytherins. He inevitably found himself pushed and pulled between his Dark family and his Light friends, and he wasn't even sure what side he was supposed to be on anymore.

We know that Dorcas Meadows was killed by Voldemort himself, but why? What made her so important that he had to personally search her out himself? And is that fact that she was next to Sirius in that Order picture significant?

As they enter their sixth year at Hogwarts, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew must all face up to their fears and grow up in the darkest time imaginable. James must step up to his role as hero despite the constant rejections from Lily Evans. Sirius struggles with responsibility, especially when mysterious Dorcas Meadowes enters his life. Remus looks for aceptance in a world he doesn't fit in and Peter searches for stability in a terrifying world.

Even worse, Dumbledore asked (read: blackmailed) him to teach DADA. And then a slightly mad former dark wizard with a death wish decided to rejoin the Death Eaters in order to complete his final mission: destroying the Horcruxes. And when a person lived his first eleven years like this, one would easily expect him to turn into a pureblood maniac, a dark arts addict, and an immediate Slytherin. But when Sirius Black was the first of his kind to defy that rule, things changed.

Throughout their years at Hogwarts the Marauders have always lived their lives in the same way, making the same choices and decisions over and over without change. Lily has always pushed James away in fear that if she lets her guard down he will let her down. Aurora is positive she's not in love with Remus and won't hear any different because she is ultimately afraid of what will happen if she faces her emotions. Raine is afraid to speak. Peter has always hid in the shadows of his three best mates. Well, this year they all decided that it is time for change. This is the year they never expected to come.

Emmeline Vance has always hated stereotypes.

Hannah enters Hogwarts two years late and has to learn seven years' worth of work in five years. Lily Evans makes friends with Hannah, and tries (unsuccessfully) to convince herself she hates James Potter. Remus' 'secret' is almost revealed to the whole school. All in all an average time at Hogwarts.
