In another, Ron leaves Hogwarts because he cannot stand seeing Hermione with Viktor Krum. In another Hermione is a house servant for the Malfoys for two months of the summer.

Ron has trouble dealing with his grief. It might be he doesn't want to, and it might be though his loved ones only want what's best for him, they can never really understand....
