(Marauder-era.) Typical Hogwarts Christmas for Remus and Sirius... except Sirius has disappeared.

“What do you like?” Petunia had asked her once. She had smiled sweetly at her older sister. “Knowing Mum loves me better.”

Ron knows that now, when members of the Order of the Phoenix look at him, they look past the red hair and freckles and think not Weasley, but Sirius Black. And now that he's dead, Ron wonders if history will repeat itself.

Sirius is beginning to crack, but Remus is afraid of broken things.

How could it have come to this? How did we fall so far? It is the day after Christmas, and while the rest of the world is returning to normalcy after the holiday, one man isn't feeling very cheerful. The holidays have only allowed him to remember the pain and loss of the previous year, though he tries desperately to forget those memories. But as a fresh blanket of snow has covered the ground, he decides to take a walk to clear his mind, and at the same time, he decides to take a chance; he allows himself to just remember.

Sirius has come to accept one life when he is back in Grimmauld Place. He knows that he is supposed to be nothing but the perfect pureblooded Black his parents expect him to be. But he cannot accept what he is supposed to be and what he is supposed to become...

Sitting on the steps of his childhood home, Grimmauld place, Sirius ponders his memories. Good and bad.

Despite the lovely world that he now resides in, Sirius Black can only watch as his friends and loved ones fight for their lives. Discontent and depressed, he seeks James for advice. Prongs, an angel, and another world promptly teach him a lesson he will never forget. Companion fic to "Dear Sirius..." and "Dear Padfoot..."
