Four separate boys...four separate destinies.

At three in the morning on July 31st, 1996, Harry and Remus meet up in the kitchen of 12 Grimmauld Place. Angst ensues. Very mild slash.

One-shot. Sirius and Lupin welcome the Weasleys to Grimmauld Place, the summer before Harry's fifth year. When Hermione arrives with them, however, Lupin is forced to re-examine some of his motives. Second in my Remus/Hermione arc.

Raven is a child with no desire to remember her past, before she fled. All she remembers is 'Mummy told her to run'. Now she's attached herself to Remus Lupin, who's trying to figure out how to raise a traumatized child with no voice, and no memory of who she is. And what happens when she gets to school, to Hogwarts, and has to deal with the students and teachers, most of whom do not understand? Will she be able to continue her life without remembering why she fled her home, or will she be forced to face a past she doesn't want to remember?

Sirius always tells Remus he is like a naked tree, free from leaves, because Remus is so thin and always cold. Remus agrees with him: life would be simpler if he were a tree.

"That's exactly how I'd describe you - irresolute, fickle, and decidedly inconsistent."

In a moment of postcoital satisfaction, Lupin considers the future of his relationship with Snape. Wolfish!
