Every head in the Slytherin common room turned when they heard the tell-tale crack of knuckle against bone. Draco stood before the entrance portal that led to the hall, a bloody fist clenched, arm shaking as he stared down at Blaise Zabini. The boy was on the floor, trying to hold back the blood dripping from his nose.

Harry started awake, his breath freezing in his lungs. Unsure exactly what had brought him from sleep, he blinked a few times and rolled onto his back. That was when he realized what was wrong. He jerked up in bed, the sheets slipping down his chest as he cast about blindly in the darkness.

The trip to Hogwarts that year was an unusually subdued one. Peter sat across from Remus, and Sirius sat next to Remus. James was not making it better, nudging at Sirius' foot subtly and flicking his eyes to the carriage door when he looked up. Each time Sirius surreptitiously shook his head no, just a bare twist. Just enough that Remus started to become suspicious.

Harry and Cedric are caught in a rainstorm during practice. If they don't make it back to Hogwarts, they'll miss supper. Much fluff ensues.
