In J K Rowling's canon we only really see Hogwarts from the point of view of the students, glimpses into the lives of the staff are rare and tantalising. Behind the Staffroom Door is a story set some hundred years before the main action of the canon. Its main character is DADA teacher, Peregrine Proudfoot and how he deals with running the school for a very ill Headmaster and handling staffroom politics.
