He runs the bike into a pothole & smashes it into a tree, rendering it basically useless. People in the nearby houses hear the noise, and start coming to see what happened. Wormtail panics & quickly Apparates away, leaving young Harry crying by the tree. He lives a horrible life in the orphanage, & is rescued by Snape at age 8. Sirius is made to take the strongest Veritaserum in existence, found innocent, and set free. Now that he's free, he wants to adopt Harry. But what happens when Snape forms a liking to the small boy and wants to adopt him as well?

Guilt-ridden, Sirius paces his narrow Azkaban cell, and around him a river of memories and regrets flows.
