Pre-Azkaban; Remus has a work now. But it is an illegal one, because he's a werewolf; he works in "club", trades money for sex. The only way for him to earn money. He doesn't like doing it, but it's his only choice. Sirius notices and foils Remus; so Remus has no idea whatever to think of Sirius. He likes to ignore the fact that he's still in love with him. But Sirius only uses him. Or does he?

Remus Lupin at times lives in doubt and regret, but a song sung from the shodows of the trees enters his life and promises to care for him, love him. Protect him from his self-anger. Remus Lupin had relied completely on Sirius Black; he who turned a curse into a gift and accepted him for who he was, not what he was. Then he was gone. Gone in the second it took for a veil to flutter innocently and whisper unheard words. This is what it feels like when a werewolf cries.

Remus has trouble speaking his feelings but after Sirius' death it's dangerous for him to keep things bottled up. So he writes in his diary, all the thoughts and feelings he went through before, during and after the fatal fight at the Ministry. He feels bitter, angry and guilty. But gradually he'll get over Sirius', and be able to carry on his life again just like his friends would have wanted.
