It has been three years since Hogwarts has ended and Hermione Granger is living her life alone. With her cat Crookshanks and her self-written book, life couldn't be better, until word reaches her of a stranger in town. A stranger with extra-ordinary emerald green eyes.

It is the summer before sixth year, and Harry is drowning in grief for Sirius. But, he has no time to mourn, as Voldemort attacks and another person is lost to the shadows. Harry returns to Hogwarts where darkness ever looms...

"Why does he have everything? The girl, the money, the fame!" "He doesn't have everything," she said softly. "Then name one thing he doesn't have!" She smiled and said, "Me."
