They both had an innate fear that surrounded them, the fear of a life repressed by the outside world. They could both relate in their absolute terror, that deep aching fear of failure, of never reaching the sky. Never touching the extent of the world. Fear is expensive and Draco and Harry both paid enormous prices for their fear.

Set in the same universe as "Where We Begin", this is a bit of a departure from my usual stories. It's Penelope-centric and gives an idea of what Remus Lupin might have been doing while he was in hiding from the wizarding world. Also, oddly enough, it's a war-story, and rather Cabaret-esque.

Where there is departure, something is lost, and everything changes. When Sirius Black left Number 12 Grimmauld Place, nothing was ever the same for the Blacks.

Harry Potter's capture ends the war, but it doesn't end the battle; Muggle-borns are rounded up and used as slaves for the ruling Death Eater party, while the rest of the Wizarding World is left in shambles. Hermione Granger turns to some old enemies in order to cope.

Wormtail probably had his own reason for betraying his friends. Maybe his friends attitudes made him or maybe it was something else. Yes we all think he's a scumbag, but maybe he had his own reasons.
