At the beginning of his fifth year at Hogwarts, Regulus Black didn't have anything more important to worry about than whether or not he had completed his Charms homework. That was before the letters started arriving; unsigned and unexpected, on crisp, yellowed parchment, and bearing vague warnings of impending danger. Narcissa's being blackmailed. Bellatrix is caught up in a single-minded determination to erase the past, quite possibly at the expense of the future. And then, through these letters, there comes a choice with consequences more severe than even Regulus could anticipate.

Sirius never felt that he fitted in with the rest of the Blacks. He has experienced some of his worst memories at no. 12 Grimmauld Place and feels nothing but hatred towards his parents and brother. One evening, it all becomes too much for him to handle, and he decides to leave it all behind.

At his Sorting, Regulus Black weighs his brother's love against his parents' expectations, and makes a choice.

The year is 1978 and it is Severus Snape's last Christmas as a student at Hogwarts. He hates all holidays and at best considers Christmas an insufferable pain. This year's Christmas is going to end in a way he never could have imagined.

Danyelle Potter and Regulus Black, the two most effective Unspeakables, are faced with a bigger challenge; a spy within their ranks who will stop at nothing to destroy the Department of Mysteries. Meanwhile, James and Lily find out about the prophecy and decide to go into hiding with Harry but who will they choose to be their Secret Keeper? Severus Snape wants his Lord's favor for more than being a potions master. The Dark Lord wants the Potters and Severus gets an idea to use Dany to get to her brother.

Reg says diaries are for girls, but he doesn't know what he's talking about. First of all, girls can't write, everybody knows that (except Regulus, but what does he know?), and second, this isn't a diary. It's a journal. That's something totally different. The night Sirius ran away from home, Regulus Black learned some surprising things about his brother, himself, and his family.

After Harry inherits property from Sirius, he decides its time that he needs to get away from it all and learn more about his Godfather. Upon arriving at the Haus des Schwarzen, he finds himself in a darker plot that he could have ever found with Voldemort.

The lost princess of Nolfrima, executed by Slytherin at the Tower of Isperfor, carried a knowledge of something sought by Lord Voldemort in order to achieve complete power. As Harry retreives the horcruxes and learns more and more about his past, he perceives how essential it is that he prevent Voldemort from reaching this knowledge. Fleeing from Voldemort, Draco becomes dependent on Harry for protection. Harry, first irritated, slowly sees a side of Draco he never did before and finds himself in love.

Sirius never stopped loving, not in despair or betrayal, not even in hate. Neither will Remus.

What if… What if Regulus Black managed to make it out of the Horcrux cave alive with the locket? And if, after recovering from the potion, he had gone to his brother for shelter from Voldemort’s wrath? What might have turned out differently? My take on a possible Alternate Universe. Will eventually be novel-length. Note: though canon indicates that Regulus’ visit to the cave most likely occurred early in 1979, I’ve decided for various niggling reasons to push it back to early November, 1978, Regulus’ last year at Hogwarts.

When Sirius ran away from home, it was ten years in the making. But no, it wasn't because of abuse or something equally dramatic. Really, it was just another holiday.

The illusion of death is not always as concrete as one might think. Regulus was never dead, just thought to be. His return has shaken the worlds of everyone important to him. Sirius' feelings are unclear, though they were never very evident to begin with. He must set things right with his wife and a son he has never known. Most importantly however, he must try to stay alive, one can only narrowly miss death so many times.

In retrospect, Harry should've known that Umbridge's field trip to the ancient springs of Jusenkyo would end badly for everyone. Having fallen into the Springs of the Drowned Emo and Drowned Emu, Harry supposes he's luckier than, say, Snape (Spring of the Drowned Unicorn) or Zacharias Smith (Spring of the Drowned Flea Circus), but there are more problems in the upcoming year than just the curses: Voldemort takes advantage of his own cursed form to infiltrate Hogwarts as Luna's new pet bunny.
