What if… What if Regulus Black managed to make it out of the Horcrux cave alive with the locket? And if, after recovering from the potion, he had gone to his brother for shelter from Voldemort’s wrath? What might have turned out differently? My take on a possible Alternate Universe. Note: though canon indicates that Regulus’ visit to the cave most likely occurred early in 1979, I’ve decided for various niggling reasons to push it back to early November, 1978, Regulus’ last year at Hogwarts.
