Andromeda Black had it all; great sisters, a name that was respected (and feared), and wealth beyond belief, but she gave it all up for love. This is a coming of age story about a Pureblood, who wasn't concerned with a person's blood status. Follow Andromeda as she struggles to break free from the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, and becomes an enemy to her sisters.

Alphard Black was a second son groomed to take a step back from the Head of Family responsibilities of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black. That sole fact made up the bulk of his identity. That was why it shocked the ever-living hell of him when his favorite daugther challenged everything. It changed everything, and when Sirius ran away he seized his chance to let her know.

Mrs Black is snogging Caradoc Dearborn on his last Order mission. Written for Fiction Alley Park's Valentine's Day OTP challenge 2005.

“Much less interesting that way.” Sirius retorted cheerfully. He took a deep breath, and then began, “Narcissa’s crying in her room, Bellatrix is threatening to curse her hair into falling out if she ever dares to speak of You-Know-Who like that again, and to curse whoever you’re seeing with the pox. Your parents are despairing of all three of you, and Mother says that you’re a disgrace and a waste of every opportunity you’ve ever been given. Oh, and Regulus is howling.” He grinned at his cousin, face so bright that it was hard to resist laughing. “Merry Christmas?”

He has feared it all along - for longer than she has, he has feared this day, this argument, this goodbye. In the past months, she has come to fear it too, and all summer they have merely been waiting. Pretending, and waiting. While everyone else had spent the past weeks celebrating that yet another lot of them were out of Hogwarts, ready for the world they had been planning for years now, the two of them had desperately been trying not to see the end. Andromeda leaves the only life she knows behind.
