Harry gets the paper and Ron gets confused. Takes place at the Weasleys’ after Draco Malfoy has let a few (dubious!) things slip to the press.

Harry starts at Hogwarts and he has plenty to think about.  Voldemort has still to be defeated, Sirius is still on the run, Malfoy is still causing problems, and the NEWTS are coming up.  And he still has to deal with the usual boarding school problems-teachers, gossip, curfews, crushes...so much to deal with.  How will he get it all done in ten short months and still survive to play seeker for the English National team after graduation? It’s Elementary, my dear Watson, Elementary.

He needs someone to fill the void. He needs someone to dissolve the illusions. He needs someone to understand. Someone to trust. Someone to love. To love him. And he needs it before he gives up his life forever. A Voldemort fic. Draco is chosen to join the inner circle, to be bound by blood and for life to the Dark Lord himself. Perhaps Harry can save him, but who’s going to save Harry? Harry gets vengeful. Draco collects moonbeams in a jar. Snape plays mentor. And Dumbledore is himself.

Harry accepts an intriguing offer from Draco Malfoy and steps onto the playing field only to find his timing off and his judgment shattered on this most unfortunate of days. Is forgiveness in order? I don’t think so.

Companion piece to ‘Crosswinds’. Draco has Transfiguration and gets into a fight with McGonagall. He does something that could warrant his expulsion, but what will Dumbledore do?
