One morning, at about three or four, possibly five a.m., just as the dawn was approaching, a castle stood somewhere unplottable in the Scottish highlands. A particular tower in this castle housed several boys and girls, all of whom, for once, were fast asleep, tucked up in their maroon and golden bedspreads, enjoying a peaceful respite from the toils of life in the wizarding world, the school and social life and whatever else plagued teenage minds. The whole thing was rather too monotonous for a Hogwarts castle. Dreadfully uninteresting, in fact. So much so, that you could actually hear the workings of fate breathe an audible sigh of relief when five mysterious people fell through the fireplace and landed in a heap on the rug.

This young man, only a year out of school, was done with life. There was no other reason he would have been here otherwise. He didn’t care what happened anymore, not to him, not to the wizarding world, not to Muggles. It just didn’t mean anything. What was the reason for this pitiful outlook on life?

It's the seventh year of Hogwarts for Lily Evans. It’s Monday, and, against her better judgement, she’s sitting in History of Magic``class. Professor Binns is teaching them about the Russian Revolutin. She’s so bored she’d be prepared to gouge out her beautiful green eyes with a teaspoon, were it not for the rather interesting distraction in the form of…guess who?``P.S. This is short, sweet and sneaky. Just the way I like ‘em.
