Chapter 11 Gilderoy Lockhart

Jaina: Hello and this is Hogwarts Idol, where you choose the next pop singer. We are here at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to find your next Hogwarts Idol. After three disappointing singers, Gilderoy Lockhart hopes to put a stop to the endless bad singing. And here he is now. *Gilderoy walks out in bare feet with faded tight bellbottom jeans with peace sign patches all over the place. He is also wearing a loose purple shirt with flowers. His blonde hair is long and a wreath of daisies is crowned on his head. He takes off his purple round sunglasses and walks up to Jaina giving the peace sign to everyone. Jaina sighs as if defeated* Or the bad singers streak will go on. Hello, Gilderoy. How are you today?

Gilderoy: I'm feeling far out, Jaina. *He sounds as if he is high* It's great to be here. I recently got back from a summer in San Francisco and loved it there! I met a lot of really great guys! But I'm happy to be back. *He smiles at Ron and winks at him* Who is the cutie with the red hair?

Jaina: Right. That is our judge, Ron, from the future. Also judging is Hermione and Harry. *Harry groans and Hermione sighs, staring dreamily at Lockhart while Ron glares at him*

Gilderoy: Ron, right on, I'll have to talk to him later. *He wiggles his eyebrows at Ron*

Jaina: Focus. *She snaps fingers in front of Gilderoy's face* You are here to try and become the next Hogwarts Idol, right? So, what are you going to perform for us today?

Gilderoy: I'm going to be doing Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco" since I loved that city so much, man.

Jaina: I could only imagine. Well, good luck, I'm sure you are going to need it.

Gilderoy: *He walks up to the stage and waves a peace sign at all the screaming girls (and some boys)* I'm Gilderoy Lockhart. *He flashes a huge fake smile* and I will be performing "San Francisco" by Scott McKenzie.

*Gilderoy tucks a daisy behind his ear*

*He winks at Ron and begins swaying to the music*

For those who come to San Francisco

Gentle people with flowers in their hair

*He gives a peace sign to the crowd of screaming girls (and some boys) and takes a daisy from his hair and puts it in Sirius' hair, winking at him. Sirius looks sick and throws the flower away, trying to hide behind a laughing James*

All across the nation

Such a strange vibration

People in motion

*Gilderoy dances around the stage, making his way up to the judges, specifically Ron*

There's a whole generation

With a new explanation

People in motion, People in motion

*He throws a daisy at Ron with a piece of paper tied to it. Ron opens it and sees that it is Gilderoy's number. Harry and Jaina try not to snicker as Ron fumes and throws the number away. Hermione just sighs dreamily at him as if in a daydream*

*He finishes by blowing a kiss to the crowd and giving a peace sign to all of them*

Jaina: Well, that was an interesting performance and I can see why you chose to go to San Francisco, California. Let's see what our judges think of your singing. Hermione, why don't we start with you?

Hermione: Wow, that was great. *She sighs dreamily* You are perfect material for a Hogwarts Idol. You can go on! *She turns to Ron* Ron, do you still have that piece of paper?

Jaina: That's very nice to say, why don't we hear from Harry. Harry, what did you think?

Harry: *He is nodding* That wasn't bad; I mean you're no Draco Malfoy, but it was decent, but not enough for you to move on. So I'm sorry, dawg, but I have to say no. Ron, what do you think?

Gilderoy: Ohh, so my lovely fate is up to this delicious cutie! I feel very confident. *He winks at Ron again*

Ron: *He is red with fury* You're bloody gay! *He turns to Harry* No offense, mate. *Back to Gilderoy* And you are trying to hit on me! I should curse you into oblivion or at least into a black veil! Also, you're a horrible singer! I don't know what Hermione sees in you! The only way you are going on is over my rotting, dead body! And I'm never going to die because I'm a main character with Harry and Hermione, so you can never go on! Bloody Hell will SOMEONE with talent please come! I'm going to bloody kill myself if I have to listen to another banshee like Lockhart. I need a drink.

Jaina: Well, I guess Ron didn't like your performance enough to let you continue. How does that make you feel?

Gilderoy: He likes me. I know it. I hope he calls. *He waves at Ron, who is being restrained by Harry and Hermione*

Jaina: I'm sure. I'm sorry you didn't make it, but it seems that the crowd liked you . . . well just the girls at least. *Gilderoy leaves* Too bad for Gilderoy. But will our next contestant break the streak of no's and be allowed to pass on to the next round? Will we ever find a good singer? Will Ron become an alcoholic? Find out next week on Hogwarts Idol!
