When Ron had finished he went downstairs and noticed right away that Ginny wasn't there. He had thought the entire common room was empty until he walked past the fire and heard a voice.

"Ginny?"

Ron spun around and saw Harry. He smiled. He really missed spending time with Harry. He wondered how Ginny was doing. Probably enjoying herself immensely, he could tell she still fancied him.

"Oh, hey Harry," Ron said.

"I didn't really get to talk to you yesterday," Harry said.

"Yeah," said Ron, not knowing where this was going. Harry and Ginny don't talk that much, do they?

"But we're alone now," Harry said with a grin that terrified Ron. "Why don't we sit in front of the fire for a bit?"

"O...okay," Ron said nervously.

Ron sat down first and Harry sat next to him. Very, very close to him. Their knees were touching. Ron shuddered. He felt violated.

There was a bit of silence before Ron decided to break it. But before he could get a word out he found Harry's face coming towards him at an alarming rate. There was no time to swerve out of the way, and before he knew what was happening, Harry was kissing him.

This was wrong. So incredibly wrong. Too wrong for words. Harry's lips were pressing hungrily against his. Harry tried to stick his tongue in Ron's mouth, but he drew the line there. There was NO WAY he was going to let his best friend French him. He kept his lips firmly clamped shut and Harry gave up, pulling away.

"What's wrong Ginny?" Harry asked. "Something on your mind?"

Ron was looking at him with eyes popping and mouth open in a silent scream. That was indefinitely the most horrifying experience of his life.

"Come on, what's wrong?" Harry said, pulling him into an embrace and stroking his hair. "You can tell Harry."

"Harry, please don't talk about yourself in the third person," Ron said, his voice muffled into Harry's shirt. This was so strange, but Harry was so normal about it. Does that mean Harry and Ginny have a secret relationship? Ron would've been angry but his spirit had been broken from the terror of the kiss.

"Harry, why can't we tell Ron about us?" Ron said, his face still being involuntarily burrowed in Harry's chest.

"He'll get really mad at me, Ginny, we've been through this before," Harry said, still stroking Ron's hair.

"I think the longer we keep it from him, the more mad he'll get," Ron said, keeping the anger out of his voice. "You never know when he might find out by accident and be mad you didn't tell him. He's your best friend; you shouldn't keep secrets from him. He doesn't keep secrets from you."

Harry stopped stroking his hair and pulled Ron out of his embrace to look him in the eyes.

"Do you really think it's best?" Harry asked.

"Yes, I do," Ron replied.

"Then I'll do it. Only if it's what you want," Harry said, hugging her once more. "We'll tell him tonight."

"Okay, thank you, Harry," Ron said. Maybe he should play the role. He gulped and said, "I love you."

"I love you too," Harry said.

Ron relaxed a little. At least Harry knows how to treat a girl. Ew. Ew. Ew! He did NOT just think that! But Harry still gets points for treating his sister well. Tonight should be entertaining.

Ron searched that castle for some sign of Ginny. He finally found her walking the hallways. Thank god she was alone. He walked up to her.

"So...Ginny," Ron said in a voice that clearly expressed that he knew something about her.

"Yes?" Ginny said.

"You and Harry are together," Ron said bluntly.

Ginny blinked and looked blankly at Ron.

"He didn't..." she said, eyes widening in realization.

"Oh yes," Ron said, crossing his arms. "He did. He tried to snog me senseless." Ginny stayed silent, so he continued. "Would you like to explain to me why neither of you told me? You, my sister, and him, my best friend?"

Ginny looked at her feet. "Did you act like you loved him?"

Ron was amazed at how well she skirted around the question. "I tried. It was very, very uncomfortable, but I think I fooled him. Except for the fact that I refused to let him stick his tongue in my mouth. Please Ginny, please tell me you don't let him do that!"

"I'm not saying anything," Ginny said, still looking down. The part of her forehead he could see was bright red. He hoped his face didn't turn that shade every time he blushed.

"GINNY!" Ron half yelled. He took several deep breaths.

"Oh grow up, Ron!" Ginny said. "Just because I've been snogging in the Astronomy Tower almost nightly for the past two months and you haven't even been kissed doesn't mean you have to ruin it for me!"

"I have too been kissed!" Ron said, going red in the face.

"Oh yeah," Ginny snorted. "I'm sure Fleur kissing you on the cheek for sleeping while her sister was being held hostage really counts."

"Oh shut up," Ron snapped.

"Make me," Ginny replied, sticking her tongue out childishly.

Ron shook his head and went on. "I convinced Harry to tell me, or rather you, about the two of you tonight. So be prepared."

Ginny sighed. "Normally I would protest but sense you already know I'll agree." Suddenly she smiled. "Hermione likes you."

Ron was taken aback. "What a sudden change of topic," was all that he said, although he grinned, knowing it was true.

"What's this?" said Ginny sarcastically. "No remarks of denial, no blushing, no 'sod off'...why, one might think you opened your eyes and saw what was standing in front of you for the past five years."

"Sod off," Ron said, blushing.

"Fine," said Ginny. "Two out of three ain't bad."

Harry walked over to where Ron sat in the common room after dinner and, making sure no one was looking, pecked him on the cheek. Ron suppressed a shudder as he turned to look at the face of his "lover".

"Hey," Ron said, giving the most forced smile in the history of the earth.

"Hi," Harry replied, beaming warmly, completely missing how fake it was. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, now are we? Ron thought to himself. "Are you ready to do this?"

"To do what?" Ron asked. Harry raised his eyebrows and Ron suddenly remembered. He mentally slapped himself as he replied, "Oh yeah! Of course I'm still sure. Look, there's Ron over there."

"This is a brave thing you're doing," Harry said softly, taking Ron's hand. "Maybe after this you deserve," at this, Harry looked around again and leaned into Ron's ear, "a reward."

Ron shuddered as he felt Harry's breath on his earlobe. "No, I'm tired tonight, thanks. Very, very, very, very, very, very tired!" Ron replied in a squeaky voice. "Let's go talk to Ron. Now!"

Harry looked up, concerned, and put a hand on Ron's knee. At this, Ron felt like crying. "What's wrong? You haven't been yourself lately."

"I'm just nervous and tired, that's all," Ron said, gripping the hand that was on his knee. Harry had started moving his thumb up and down and it was more then Ron could bear. "Let's get this over with so it'll all be off my chest!"

Harry's face relaxed and he said, "Okay. Let's go."

They walked up to Ginny and Harry said, "Ron, I have...I mean we have something to tell you."

Ginny looked up, doing her best to look surprised. "Both of you? Together?"

"Yes," Ron said, looking at Harry and doing his best to seem nervous. "Ron, Harry and I, well...we're dating. And have been for three months."

Ginny looked up and held up two fingers real quick, indicating that it had only been two months.

"I mean, two months," Ron said quickly, mentally hitting himself for the second time that day.

"Now Ron, we know you're probably mad, but-" Harry began, but Ginny cut him short.

"I'm not mad," she said simply.

"You're not?" Harry said, puzzled.

"Not one bit," Ginny said, shooting a meaningful look at Ron. "I'm happy for you, like the true best friend and brother I am and should be."

"But you're not mad at all?" Ron said, shooting just as meaningful a look at Ginny. "You're not even a little annoyed that we hid something this big from you even though you're my brother and Harry's best friend? That we basically said that we didn't trust you to be a bigger man?"

"No, because that's not what you were saying at all," Ginny replied, ears turning red. "You were just saying that you were worried that I would react badly and it would ruin things between us."

Harry looked curiously between the two of them, having no idea what was going on.

"Like I was saying," Ron said, ears also turning red. "We didn't trust you enough to tell you. We were saying that you were weak."

"Well I'm not weak, but I am a hot head!" Ginny said, standing up. "I'm a hot head and you were afraid that I would hate you! It's a perfectly reasonable assumption!"

"That's outrageous!" Ron said, voice rising. "You're not a hot head! Take it back! Take it back right now!"

"No!" Ginny yelled. By now the whole common room was listening to this strange conversation. "I won't take it back because it's true and you know it! I'm unreasonable! I am a HOT HEAD!"

At this Ginny turned on her heel and stomped up to the boy's dormitory and slammed the door.

"I'm going to bed!" Ron announced and walked up to the girl's dormitory. Later on he decided that must've seemed very weird to everyone in the common room, but at the moment he really didn't care. How dare Ginny accuse him of being a hot head? She didn't have the coolest head in the world herself.

He heard Hermione call Ginny's name, but he pretended to be asleep. Now wasn't the time for girl talk.
