Chapter 2

School couldn't have started at a more appropriate time for the girls. They had both been itching to pull some pranks, and they knew damned well that at a new school, they could get away with just about anything, or so they thought.

Their first day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was an eventful one. They began the day by being sorted in front of the entire school into a house.

When the ceremony began, their names were called and they approached the front of the Great Hall. Professor McGonagall announced loudly, "Kurt, Raven."

Raven approached the old stool where McGonagall stood and took a seat. An old and nasty hat was placed on her head.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, you're a 7th year transfer I see. Yes, yes, this is very difficult because I see you are so diverse. I want you in GRYFFINDOR!"

Professor McGonagall loudly announced Brett's name next. "Benson, Brett."

Brett stood tall and began to sing. "Billy-Jean is not my lover - she's just a girl who - thinks that I am the one - but the kid is not my son!" As she sang, she did the moonwalk. She moon-walked her ass to the stool, and began singing silently. "That was by far, the best time that we ever had, ooooh yeah!"

"Well, I can tell where you belong. GRYFFINDOR!"

"Yes, excellent," Brett decided keenly.

The second event of the day was classes. Peers escorted them through the marvellous school hallways and assisted them in getting to know the teachers before the classes started.

All their classes were together except for one. While Raven had Ancient Ruins, Brett had Care of Magical creatures.

Their second day of classes started out rather differently than expected. They had potions with Professor Snape, who as they had met the other day, allowed the girls to know he was not the guy to mess with.

They got to class five minutes late, and for that, Snape deducted fifty points each.

"Ugh... I am offended Professor Snape. You must have failed math in school. By all means, a fifty point deduction for being five minutes late for class is completely illogical!" Brett protested.

"Miss Benson, I suggest that you shut your mouth. This is not a classroom for articulate behaviour!" Snape snapped.

"Way harsh!" Raven pleaded.

"Both of you will see me after classes today to serve out detention, this kind of behaviour is not welcome in my classroom," he hissed while raising an eyebrow.

That evening, they went to Snape's classroom for detention. Brett had promised Ron a game of Wizard's chess and decided that she would do everything in her power to get out of this detention.

"Hello Professor Snape," Brett said raising her left eyebrow and subtly smiling.

"Welcome to detention. You ladies will begin by cleaning all the cauldrons on the left side of the shelves. Begin immediately. I'll be back in a moment."

Snape left and Brett chimed up. "Dude, I'm gonna get us outta here."

"And how do you plan to do that? Seduce the guy?" Raven almost pissed herself laughing.

"Hey... that's a good idea. It'll throw the guy off, and he'll be so wigged out that he'll practically be asking us to leave early! Ha ha! It's a genius idea, don't you think?"

Raven rolled her eyes and smiled to herself as Snape re-entered the classroom.

Brett continued cleaning silently for about ten minutes. Then she stopped for a second, to remove her robes.

"Whew, it's hot in here," she suggested, while exposing her non-school attire, which was unknowingly concealed under the robes. Tight jeans and a tight top, which read "Atticus", grazed the top half of her body. Brett went back to cleaning for ten more minutes, when she then reached around her neck with one hand, and undid the clasp of a necklace she bought for $1.00 from a cheap vending machine at the local mall back home. She dropped it effortlessly on the ground in front of her.

"Ah Dammit!" Brett yelled out.

"Excuse your language in this classroom Miss Benson!" Snape demanded.

"I'm sorry Professor Snape, but my necklace fell off. It's an heirloom from my great grandmother. My hands are all dirty and whatnot, do you think you could put it on for me please?" Brett smiled innocently.

"I suppose so," he offered, while Raven stood silently at her sink, trying not to laugh.

Snape grazed the necklace across the front of Brett's neck and hooked the clasp on the back. He didn't understand how such a solid hook just came undone and fell off like that. "Perhaps she didn't do it up properly," he thought to himself. Moments after the necklace was done back up, Brett went in for the kill.

"WHOA!" she called out, and slipped backwards.

Snape caught her fall and she lay there in mid air being held by his sharp, yet cold and spiteful arms. He pulled her back up.

She gazed directly into his black eyes, and couldn't help but feel a little colder herself. "I must have slipped on some water," she semi-laughed out.

"Yes, that can be problematic," Snape replied.

Brett's eyes slowly formed an appreciative and love struck gaze in between blinks. She made a point to look away after a while and put a strand of hair behind her ear and laugh uncomfortably.

"Sorry about that," she said.

"It's fine. You ladies can go now. Detention is done."

Snape left the classroom, pulling his cloak submissively behind him. The girls exchanged exuberant and off course high fives, and then returned to the common room, where Brett indeed played a riveting game of Wizard's chess with Ron. As for Raven, well, she disappeared. Brett made no effort to go and find her, assuming she had gone to bed.

That week was very boring and Brett and Raven knew they had to plan something and cause some sort of commotion throughout the school. The school needed livening up, and they thought they knew just how to do it. They would pull a classic muggle prank and stack all the desks of various classrooms in the corners. They pulled this off with little magic, they only used magic to get inside the classrooms and then they stacked the desks using brut force in the middle of the night.

The next morning, when they entered their first class of the day, charms, they acted as shocked as everyone else really was. Professor Flitwick quickly replaced the desks easily seeing as he is the Charms teacher. Brett and Raven were sure that all the teachers would discus the prank later on, but for now, class went on like usual. Well, as usual as it could when everyone was talking in hushed whispers about the prank and whom they thought pulled it off. The most common accused culprits were Fred and George who hadn't yet pulled a prank this year.

Fred and George sat in the corner of the class and debated who they thought could have done it whilst trying to convince everyone that they didn't do it. As much as they would like to take credit, they believed that credit should be given only where it is due, and since it was not due to them, they avoided it as best they could.

At the end of class, as everyone was leaving, Fred and George caught up with

Brett and Raven.

"You did it, didn't you," George accused.

"Whatever are you talking about?" Raven said a little sarcastically.

"You piled the desks, we know it," Fred replied.

"And what makes you think a crazy thing like that?" Raven said even more sarcastically then before.

"Well, we didn't do it, and you two are the only other ones in this school that I know of who could pull it off," Fred explained. "No one else has ever pulled a muggle prank here before, so naturally, we would think that the newest members of the school would do it. Now before you ask, we ruled out the first years in this, 'cause they'd be to scared to piss off any of the teachers their first month."

"Yes, well..." Brett started.

"Will you look at the time, we have to go to our next class. See you later!" Raven saved them from anymore interrogating as they quickly walked towards their next class.
