Chapter two - Missed the party and lost in the castle
Harry sat down on his and Percy's bed. What the hell could he write about? He had no idea what Draco had written, but he had a feeling that it was good, otherwise, Draco wouldn't have agreed to his challenge.
After a while, he realized that he couldn't come up with something that night, and decided to go to bed early. If he was lucky, he perhaps could make it to fall asleep before Percy came up.
He changed to his night clothes. Boy, was he glad that he didn't have a pyjamas like Percy or what? Percy's pyjamas was made by flannel and looked indeed pretty comfortable, but it was pink and blue teddy bears, stars with eyes and a big yellow sun with sunglasses on the back on it. As if that wasn't enough, someone who apparently was not good at sewing, had put on a prefect-mark on the right chest. Harry doubted that it could be anyone else than Percy himself.
When he laid down, he suddenly realized that he was very tired. He fell asleep very fast, at least before Percy came.
The next morning, the same annoying noise came, but this day Harry sat up directly so Percy didn't have time to yell anything in his poor ear. When he looked around in the room, he saw that Percy wasn't there.
In fact, it looked like Percy hadn't been there one the whole night.
Oh no, had the else gone somewhere when he was asleep? Damn it, why was he always the one to go to bed first?
He ran down the stairs and found Percy lying on the table with no shirt and a Viking helmet over the face. Some one had written "Blaise Rules" on his bare belly with ketchup. All the others had dosed off round in the room.
"What a party," Neville groaned half unconscious as he was.
"Hey guys, it is morning. That stupid bell has already rang," said Harry, looking helplessly around.
"Shut up Potter, five points from Gryffindor," Snape mumbled. He was lying on a very small sofa, both his head and his enormous feet was hanging out from it.
"Heey, Potter, you're up?" said a voice behind Harry. It was Blaise who just had entered the room.
"Man, look at them, they can't even take some butterbeer with firewhisky in. Where were you all night by the way?"
"I was asleep," Harry said angrily, "apparently I missed like the party of the year. Why didn't you wake me up?"
"The party of the year? I don't think so, this is nothing compared to what I did last weekend, anyway we just had some drinks and everybody went crazy. Quite fun actually, to bad though that we didn't have some girls here. It could had gone really dirty between Davies and Diggory if I hadn't stopped them. Want to know what happened?"
"No, please, I know too much already. I won't be able to sleep tonight."
"Yeah, you've always been so sensitive, Potter."
One door in the other end of the room opened, and McGonagall and Trelawney came in.
"WHAT has happened here?" McGonagall shouted and looked directly at Harry and Blaise. Harry looked around the room carefully for the first time, and saw that it was chaos. Empty bottles of butterbeer law everywhere with thrown-off clothes, food-rests and all sorts of broken things caused by spells who didn't had worked.
"You don't need to tell us lies, I already know what has happened, I can see everything in my crystal ball. Even death," said Trelawney and glanced at Harry when she said the last.
"Okay we had a small party, but Snape was with us all the time, I mean he's a grown-up and stuff..." said Blaise friendly.
"And I was asleep during the whole party, don't forget that," Harry declaimed.
"Frankly I don't care Potter, it's not like there's any rules here," McGonagall said, then she took up a bottle of butterbeer where it was some left in the bottom. She drank up what was there and then threw it away.
"WAKE UP EVERYBODY!" she yelled.
Everybody except from Percy, sat up and looked themselves around with confusion.
"Where am I?" said Colin Creevey
"Bloody hell, what a hangover I've got," Ernie Macmillan snorted.
"Why is that, that everybody here is is so weak?" said Blaise, a bit proud that he wasn't like them.
"It's not we who are weak; it's you who's crazy. I mean really, you drank twice as much as me yesterday, and yet I drank very much, more than the others," said Wood.
"Not more than Krum, Oliver," said Dean.
"Yeah, where's Krum by the way? I remember him singing an ugly Romaine song, then he disappeared in a green light, or perhaps it was I who fell down in the green sofa and passed out," said Justin.
"No, I remember him disappearing in a green light too. But I passed out over Justin that next second..." said Roger Davies.
"Can anyone here who not passed out over Justin tell us what happened to Krum?" McGonagall said with an impatient voice.
"No, I also passed out after that green light."
"Yeah, me too..."
"Me three..."
"I feel that very dark magic has been used in here," said Trelawney ominous, and everybody's heads turned to Draco.
"Oh please, he was the first one who fell asleep," Blaise groaned.
"Yeah, that's right..." said Draco, he didn't really know if he should be glad that he could make excuses for that it possible could be he who had done the magic, or embarrassed over that he had passed out first.
"Anyway, I know what happened to Krum. I haven't slept in the whole night. It was Snape, he got angry when Krum sang his idiotic Romaine song, so he said some sort of curse and pointed his wand at him, and in the next moment Krum was gone..." said Blaise, very satisfied with something about it.
"Professor Snape, is that true? What did you do to the poor boy? Answer me!" It was the first time Harry saw McGonagall in panic.
"Please woman, stop talking so I can tell you. I was drunk and when he started to sing his song about Rumania I got mad. I thought that he couldn't sing about Rumania, why he was in Britain. Guess I cursed him back to his country, and as you know, curses make the people around, who not gets hit by it, very dizzy. And because they were also drunk, they passed out," said Snape in a cool voice.
"Yes well, we'll look it up. If you're telling the truth, you might not get a hard punishment, because you told us immediately and you was drunk, but you will get kicked from this competition," said McGonagall, clearly calmed down.
"NO, anything but that."
"Why do you want to be here, what's your reason? I know you don't like Hermione Granger..."
"I want to beat Potter," said Snape shortly and McGonagall sighed.
"Well, we'll talk about this later, now you all perhaps wonders who's going home today?"
"No..."
"Haven't given a thought on it actually."
"Great. It is..." She expected everyone to start nagging on her to start, but when no one did she got annoyed.
"It's Dennis Creevey, Hermione says that you're too young for her. Sorry, better luck next time. Come on now, Dennis."
"But..." said both Dennis and Colin Creevey.
"NOW, Dennis. You got all time you have to play with your brother after this."
"Bye Dennis, never forget me," Colin cried.
"I won't," said Dennis with an unhappy voice.
They left the room in complete silence. Then McGonagall came rushing back.
"Snape, you're coming with me."
Snape left the room without a word.
"That was unexpected," said Dean confused.
"Yeah, but it's nice to get rid of both Snape and Krum," Wood answered.
"Especially Krum," Draco said darkly.
"Aren't anybody hungry? I'm dying for breakfast," Harry interrupted.
"Oh, how can you think of food Potter? I feel like throwing up...I have to go..." said Roger Davies and ran out.
"Yeah Harry you know, all got a hangover except you, and that's kind of puts you in the leading position. So, what to do next?"
"Shouldn't there be some sort of task or something, like yesterday? And we should get breakfast, I mean they're starving us, we didn't get breakfast yesterday either.
OH GOD DAMN IT PERCY WAKE UP, YOU'RE SICKENING US WITH YOUR SNORING!" Harry yelled.
"Easy, tiger," Draco sneered.
"What?"
"I'm still drunk."
"Well that sort some things out," said Blaise injured.
"Okay, I have no idea what you're talking of, Zabini, but I guess there's no meaning to ask you about it, so I'll just ignore you."
"Say that you do, Malfoy, but I can assure you that I will come and visit you in your worst nightmares," Blaise said.
"Are you threatening me?"
"PLEASE STOP THAT IDIOTIC CONVERSATION, IT WON'T GO ANYWHERE!" Harry shouted and jumped up and down in pure anger.
"Cranky Potthead? That's the second time you yell in just a couple of minutes you know," Draco said and smiled coldly.
"I'm very hungry and also very pissed of at you lot because you didn't wake me up yesterday, so don't mess with me."
"I'm sorry gangster, see, my knees are shaking by fear. Oh no, my bad, it's by laughter they're shaking." Draco and Blaise fell together in a heap of laughter, they seemed to get along really well as soon as they insulted someone else.
Harry felt panicked.
"I want food, please anybody," he shouted.
"No one except you is hungry, so forget it," said Marcus Flint aggressively and pounded his head in the wall.
"Nasty headache get away!" He started to cry quietly and hid his face in his hands. It was quite sad to look at, but also very pathetic because he was a large boy indeed.
"Actually, when I think of it, I'm kind of hungry..." said no one else but Dudley.
"Me too," Crabbe blubbered.
Suddenly one door opened and in came Dobby.
"If Harry Potter want food, than Harry Potter will get food!" he beamed, and all the houselves from yesterday came after him with breakfast for an whole army.
Harry, Dudley, Crabbe and Ernie MacMillan ran to the table and pressed themselves with food.
"Come on Justin, here's food enough for you too," said Ernie friendly. But Justin, green in his face by nauseous, rejected it with an easy shiver in his voice.
Percy still lay right on the table, unconscious, but when Harry poured a glass of pumpkin juice over his face, he woke up and swore at him.
Draco and Blaise applauded.
"Go Percy!"
"Yeah well, I am a prefect," said Percy proudly, even if it had nothing to do with the subject.
When hey had ate up all the food, and the rest of the boys had woke up, Dobby and his houselves came in and took the dish up, and at the same time, they cleaned up in the room and took away all the empty bottles of butterbeer. Finally, it was just a room with ugly sofas again.
They sat down and chatted a bit, but got interrupted by Trelawney entering the room.
"Today, you'll all meet Hermione Granger, and you don't even have to clear any mission!" she beamed and Neville sighed happily.
"Since Hermione has asked me so nice, Harry Potter is the first to go." Harry smiled self-confident at Draco, who looked darkly at him.
"Come on Harry," said Trelawney and he followed her through a door. The castle was very big, and Harry and others only had the room with the ugly sofas and their bedrooms to hang out in, so when they had got through some rooms he had completely lost his way back. When they walked through an enormous corridor, Trelawney said with a friendly voice to him:
"As you know, Potter, I'm aware of everything what happens, and I'm sorry to say this, but I often feel death in this house, especially around you."
"Err...Well okay...I'm glad you told me Professor Trelawney...err..." said Harry in lack of words.
"Now, here we are." Trelawney opened a door and they entered a room dressed in white. It was white wallpapers, a white carpet, and white furniture (the sofas was actually quite nice) and in the middle of all sat Hermione, stunningly beautiful in a long, white dress.
"Harry!" she screamed and jumped up from the sofa. She ran forwards to him and hugged him long and hard.
"Oh, I've missed you so much. You can believe that I got disappointed when Percy won over you in the quiz."
"Yeah...But Hermione, just one question, how could you vote Ron out?"
"Well...you know...Don't tell him this, but I actually still love him. And when he ditched me for that silly blonde I got so jealous. And now I thought that I had my chance to get vengeance on him."
"But that was a half year ago he ditched you, and you've been friends for a long time, you have to move one sister."
"What?"
"Nothing...but you'll pick me in the end, right?"
"I don't know Harry..." Said Hermione and when she saw the mad look in his eyes she hurried to add:
"We are so good friends and I don't want to change that. And I know that you don't like me in that way. You just want to make every girl who's in love with you jealous, you've always been so blown-up in that sort of stuff."
"Well alright, but let me stay as long as you can, longer than Malfoy, that's the only thing I'll ask you about."
"Sure, I would have ditched Malfoy first if it weren't for his unnatural good look. But I will ditch him before I ditch you, no problem. But Blaise Zabini and Cedric Diggory in the other hand...God, they're so handsome. I think I'll pick one of them..."
"Hermione, you can't be serious, Blasie is a mental I can assure you, and you know that Diggory is stupid.
"But they're both so cute, I just have to have one of them. Yeah well, anyway, what's happening in the castle when you guys are alone? I understand that you're no just sitting and rolling your thumbs?"
"I am, but the others had this huge party yesterday," said Harry and hanged with his head.
"Why weren't you there?"
"I was asleep, I hade gone upstairs early to start writing on a role-play story."
"Oh, that really sounds like something you would do, what's happened? Made a bet with Malfoy?" said Hermione cunningly.
"Yeah, how did you know?"
"I can read you like an open book, my friend."
"Anyway, when I came down this morning, I found Percy laying on a table with his shirt off and a Viking helmet on his head. Can you imagine how disgusting it was?"
"Oh my god, Percy? I knew that he would flip out sometime."
They talked for a fairly long moment, then Trelawney got back.
"Time to go, Harry."
"How can it be? I couldn't possibly have been here for more than ten minutes..."
"One hour to be exact, and remember, it's loads of other boys who also want to see Hermione."
"Yeah, I guess..." said Harry sadly and stood up.
"But I still think it's unfair," he yelled when he came to the door, then he slammed it shut and ran away.
He had completely forgot that he had no idea where in the huge castle he was. After a while when he had walked around, in rooms who all looked the same to him, he found his way back to Hermione's room. He opened the door carefully, and looked inside.
He gasped.
Hermione was sitting in a white sofa with Blaise, and they were kissing.
"HERMIONE!"
"Harry...what..." she mumbled.
"What the hell are you doing here, Potter?" Blaise said angrily. Harry looked at them both. Blaise looked furious, Hermione very embarrassed.
"Hermione, how could you? Making out with Blaise Zabini? Haven't you been listening on anything I've said about him? He got something seriously wrong with his brain."
"Thank you very much for that statement Potter, and may I remind you, it is not I who got a scar in my head, it is you," said Blaise, who felt outside from the talk.
"Oh I don't want to hear your mental talk, I just want to find the way back to everyone."
"It's your own fault that you didn't wait for Trelawney," said Hermione, who now, as Blaise, looked angry.
"You just keep a low profile, okay? You've done enough damage today, missy."
"Hey, you're not my dad, Harry, you even can be glad if you're my friend after this."
"He doesn't want your friendship, he wants your love."
"Shut up, Zabini," Harry said loudly.
He and Hermione stared angrily at each other for a moment.
"Whatever, Hermione, I'll leave now, and I won't care who you kiss after this," said Harry depressed.
"That's the spirit! Bye bye, Potty," grinned Blaise.
"SHUT UP!" Harry and Hermione shouted in chorus.
Harry started to go against the door.
"Harry, wait. I do think it's nice that you care about me, I just don't want you to decide which ones I should kiss, and date, that's all. Well, you both might as well leave now, I have to have some time to think before I'll see the next person."
"Bye baby, I love you," said Blaise and pressed a kiss on her lips. To Harry's satisfaction she wiped it off.
They went out, and walked through some rooms until they realized that they were lost.
"I have to say, well done, Potter."
"You can't blame this one on me, I told you that we should turn left, but nooo, you got such a good local mind, don't you? Know every short cut in the whole castle, we'll be back in no time you said, WELL IT HAS GONE FIFTEEN MINUTES!" Harry yelled.
"Yeah, so?"
"So? If this was a shortcut, we'd be back for about fourteen minutes ago."
"Yes, but we have more time alone, you and me."
"I don't want to be alone with anybody right now, especially not with you!"
"You have no idea how much that hurts"
They wandered around until they got to a corridor. Harry knew that he'd been there before, it was the corridor who lead to Hermione's room.
"Oh, I know, I know! If we go through that door we'll come to Hermione!" Blaise yelled and pointed with an unbelievable beautiful finger.
Harry just stared like a sheep, Blaise's hands were so handsome.
"Woow..." he said.
"Huh?"
"How did you get hands like that?"
"Oh, my beauty-hands... yeah, they're in the family." Blaise sounded very flattered, and he blushed like a little girl. So did Harry.
An awkward silence arose.
Then, Blaise broke it.
"Anyway...Shall we go to Hermione?"
"Err...Sure..." Harry was very embarrassed over that he'd admitted to Blaise that he was impressed by his hands.
Hermione sat in the exact same position in the same sofa as she had done when they left her, only this time, Dudley was there with her.
Dudley looked frightened at her, she looked disgusted at him. Nobody of them spoke.
"Hey, Hermione we're back!" Blaise shouted with an unnatural happy voice. Both Hermione and Dudley jumped by alarm.
"Gwarff," stammered Dudley.
"Hello to you to, you fat muggle-thing," beamed Blaise.
"Harry, Blaise, why don't you please leave me alone?" said Hermione angrily, although Harry saw that she was glad that someone had interrupted her and Dudley's "conversation"
"We can't find our way back," Harry cried out.
"Fine, wait her until Trelawney gets back to fetch Dudley," Hermione sighed.
"Yeah why not, and till then, we can have our own little party!" said Blaise and pushed himself down in the sofa between Hermione and Dudley.
They did not have to wait for a long time, and Trelawney didn't say one question about why Harry and Blaise where there.
Perhaps she wanted them to believe that she actually knew everything, as she always stated.
When they got back, everyone cast nasty looks at Harry and Blaise, probably they thought that they had done some fun things while they were gone.
As if.
For dinner that evening, they only got porridge and fried chicken.
"Hey, I can't eat this, it's disgusting! And it don't even fit together," Draco screamed.
"Sorry, sorry, sir. Orders from the chef," a very small houself whistled.
"I am Draco Malfoy. Fix it!" said Draco with stress on each word.
Harry and Blaise looked at each other and sneered, the hand-event had made a special band between them, and Harry realized that he started to like Blaise, although he had his weird moments.
During dinner, they sat and compared each boys visit to Hermione, and Blaise made Harry's new respect to him much bigger by don't telling everyone that he'd kissed her.
When they were talking about who they thought would be ditched the next day, everyone voted for Percy except for Percy himself. The reason for that was that, according to Percy, he's and Hermione's chat had been about him talking of all the good things the ministry of magic had done for the last ten years.
"She seemed kind of bored, but I know that she really was enjoying it," Percy defended himself when the other picked on him.
To Harry's annoyance, everybody was so tired after the party last night that they decided to go to bed right after dinner.
"Damn you guys, you're so lazy!" he yelled in a moment of madness.
"I can stay up with you Harry, I'm not tired," said Blaise
"How can you not be tired? You haven't slept one minute since we got here," Neville said.
"I know, I'm not fond in sleeping so I rather stay up. Anyway, I never get tired. It's in my family. As my hands," Blaise said and blinked at Harry.
Justin Finch-Fletchley looked deprecationed at them and then went to bed. Nobody seemed to care.
Everybody dropped off one after one until there was only Harry and Blaise left. Another awkward silence arose.
"How is that, that you don't have to sleep?" said Harry carefully, he didn't want to seem to interested.
"Ah, simple mate. It's in my veins."
"What else do you got in your bloody veins?" Harry spit out.
"A little peace of that and a little peace of that, you know. To be honest, I have never counted all things in the Zabini-blood, but now when you mention it... First of all our good looks, particularly our hands, and that we don't need to sleep. That's probably because we have some vampire blood in us, not much. It's not like I can't stand sunlight and I suck blood, but the vampire blood mixed with normal blood helps me when I don't want to sleep. I also got elf-blood in me, and as you know, elves don't need to sleep, they just meditate. Well, that's the secret behind the phenomenon me, feel proud that I told you."
"Yeah, you really got loads of different blood in you," said Harry, very impressed.
"But I'm not at all famous, as you are. I would do anything to be you, just for a day."
"I think it had been fun to be you too," Harry said with a friendly voice.
"Really?" Blaise looked happier than Harry had ever seen him.
"Yeah, why not?" When he had said it first, it was only because he wanted to be nice to Blaise, but now, when he had given it a thought, he realized that it actually could be quite fun. Who didn't want to know what was going on in Blaise Zabini's head?
"Well, I know just the spell, it's really easy... But it has to be full moon."
"That's the day after tomorrow," said Harry automatically. Being friend with Hermione for six years had teached him to always know when it was full moon.
"Great, are you really sure that you want to change body with me? It's just for 24 hours, but I might feel like a very long time. I've never done it you know."
But Harry, who felt drunk on the sweetness of life (and the chance to become Blaise Zabini), banged his fist on the table and said loud:
"Of course I'm sure, who wouldn't want to be you, Blaise? Well, how's that spell working? I don't think I've ever heard of it..."
"Really, Harry, Snape used five of his lessons to tell us about it..."
"Really, Blaise, then I'm sure that I've haven't heard about it."
"All right, all right, don't get cranky."
"I'm not."
"Well, I'll take care of it, you don't need to worry Harry. All you have to do is make sure that there's another party tomorrow, so they'll get tired the next day, and then we'll have this room for ourselves during the night."
"Yeah of course. I'll fix that. But you know, I'm really tired now. To bad I don't have vampire-blood. See you in the morning, Blaise."
"Good night, sweet dreams my little flower," said Blaise and winked at him. Harry laughed and went upstairs. Behind him he heard that Blaise sat and hummed for himself.
Wow, if about 50 hours, I'll be him, Harry thought to himself.
He went to bed, and to his pleasure he saw that Percy was already asleep.
Just when he was about to fall asleep, he got to think on his role-play story.
Damn, he hadn't given it a thought on the whole day, really, what could he write about?
Suddenly, a idea flew through his head.
He could write about all Blaise' relatives. Not them in person of course, but about vampires, elves, and he could add some veelas, centaurs, werewolves.
Boy, he was so bright!
But what would happen to them?
He could think about that tomorrow, Percy's snoring made him very sleepy.
