An Interesting Little Legal Problem

The terms of the will: Remus gets Harry. Harry, Remus, and Tonks get a bit of gold and some unusual bonding experiences. The Weasley twins get a hippogriff and an unexpected source of inspiration. After that, things get complicated... (Summer after OotP, but about as lighthearted as possible.)

Harry learns what a Muggle solicitor is doing with a scale model of Hogwarts in his garden, discovers that he may not be the only wizard in Surrey, and hears the finer points of the Order's legal troubles. And then he and Remus stand around looking at each other awkwardly...

Members of the Order demonstrate various ways to "look after the property." Tonks and Harry have a chat, the Weasley twins stop by to show off a new invention, and there is an unfortunate incident with a gargoyle...

Snape gets kissed, Harry resumes his Occlumency lessons, and he and Remus begin to talk...

The Occlumency lessons continue, interrupted by an interesting revelation about Snape. Harry realizes the full implications of something that happened at the Department of Mysteries. Things get a bit angsty.

Remus decides that the dispute over the inheritance of Grimmauld Place looks like another problem that can be fixed with tea. Tonks thinks his idea is promising; Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Snape think it's insane. Harry is caught in the middle.

Draco goes to a tea party, forcing most of the other guests to resort to strong drink. We witness various examples of Bad Manners and a few flashes of the not-always-so-even Lupin temper. Just when it looks like the party has been a complete disaster, Fleur intercepts a message containing some very unwelcome news for the Malfoys. Unfortunately, it may not be good news for the Order either...

Tonks and Remus reminisce about Regulus Black's childhood and youth, but his current whereabouts remain mysterious. Luna returns from her expedition, and Fred and George show off a new line of products.

Remus attempts to give Harry a normal, if slightly belated, birthday party for once in his life. Two unexpected guests steal the show: Arjeplog the Crumple-Horned Snorkack and Regulus Black, who tells a weird and fantastic tale about where he's been for the last sixteen years.

Regulus takes the Crumple-Horned Snorkack on a wild ride through London, meets the Order of the Phoenix, and Memory Charms Kreacher. Life at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place will never be quite the same again.
