What if Albus Dumbledore got married?

The man lets his auburn-turning-white hair fall in front of his face as the youngest of his twelve children plays with it. He is enjoying an English muffin, toast and jam, and a glass of milk as his breakfast for his last day home. The man has to go back to Hogwarts tomorrow to get ready for his first year as headmaster. There are many things to be done, but the man hopes to spend the day proving he is a worthy family man. Just as he finishes, a parade of children rushes down the stairs followed by a woman obviously older yet still youthful. She instructs the children to start packing for a picnic. She then goes and pecks the man on the cheek.

"Do you remember our first picnic together?" she asks with a romantic air to her voice.

"I do," the man answers.

The man's wife then turns around to supervise their twelve children make sandwiches and get sherbert lemons from their father's stash to make their lunches. They all do it the muggle way, of course, since the children are between the ages three and sixteen, so none of them have come of age yet. The man puts his arm around his wife's waist and smiles as he watches the children get ready for the picnic. The woman returns this act of affection with a quick embrace and by pointing out that the man should probably get in his muggle clothes like every other family member is wearing. Ten minutes later, everyone is ready to go.

When they arrive at the park, the children take out their muggle toys (balls of all sorts, kites, toy cars, dolls). As the younger children amuse themselves with the toys, the man's oldest child, Rosemary, asks for her father's permission to walk around the park, enjoy the scenery, and take advantage of the beautiful weather. After glancing at his wife for approval, the man nods in assent. The man and his wife are left on the picnic blanket watching their children play and listen to faint sound of someone's record player on the other side of the park playing "Love Me Do." The man enjoys sitting there, arm around his wife, humming along to the music. After what seems like only a little while, a church bell chimes twelve times. The man's seven-year-old son, Jonas, takes that as a cue that it's time to eat. Soon, the others follow his lead and begin eating, too. The man eats an egg salad sandwich. His wife is eating a tuna sandwich. As the kids finish eating and go back to playing, the man's wife kisses him.

"I always knew egg salad and tuna go well together," he chuckles. His wife giggles like a school girl. When the man is done, he decides to walk around for a little while. He stands up and, off in the distance, he sees Rosemary kissing a boy. He smiles and thinks about his teenage puppy loves and his first kiss. The man looks back at his wife beaming. He recalls that he shared his first kiss with her.

He walks into the midst of his eleven other children. He plays catch, dolls, toy car races, and other games with each of the children in turn. The man laughs jovially as he has fun with his children. Meanwhile, his wife watches him. She thinks about how much she loves him and how much she's going to miss him when he is back at Hogwarts teaching transfiguration.

It gets dark. The happy family leaves. After they all get home and the children are asleep, the man and his wife kiss. It is a symbol of their love.
