~chapter four~

"Harry! Harry! Wake up..."

Harry shut his eyes tight and rolled over. The person trying to wake him grabbed his arm and shook it. "Harry, wake up. We're leaving in fifteen minutes."

Harry sat up. Hermione was standing next to his bed, her hands on her hips, looking very impatient. "Hurry up and get ready. Like I said, we're leaving in fifteen minutes."

"All right, all right," Harry said, slowly getting out of bed. Hermione left the room and Harry quickly got dressed. He went out into the parlor. Ron and Mr. Weasley were in the kitchenette, eating cereal out of little plastic containers that Mrs. Weasley had bought in the café. Hermione and Ginny were standing by the window, talking about movies. Mrs. Weasley was listening to their conversation while getting her purse ready. Harry sat down next to Ron. Mr. Weasley passed him a container of Froot Loops, a carton of milk and a bottle of apple juice.

"Morning, Harry," he said.

"Morning, Mr. Weasley," Harry replied, pouring milk into his cereal. He ate his cereal in silence, listening to Hermione's explanation of Casablanca ("it's very romantic, believe me"), and Ron and Mr. Weasley's discussion of a television program that they had watched that morning while Harry had still been asleep. ("Can you believe it? Giving away a million dollars on television?")

Pretty soon, Mrs. Weasley was clearing away Harry's empty cereal dish and telling him to hurry up and get ready. "Go brush your teeth and gather your things, dear. We'll be leaving in just a few minutes."

Harry finished getting ready and five minutes later, he, Hermione and the Weasleys were i the elevator. They waited a few minutes and boarded a bus to the Disney-MGM Studios.

"This park has the most thrill rides of any in Disney World," Hermione said.

"Really?" Ron asked. "Any rollercoasters?"

"The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster," she answered. "It has three 360° inversions and goes from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds."

"I am definitely riding that one," Ron said.

"I'm not," said Ginny, shuddering. "I think I can live without going 60 miles per hour on a rollercoaster."

"The ride I'm most excited about is the Great Movie Ride," Hermione said.

"Is it a rollercoaster?" asked Ron.

"Ron, you are obsessed with rollercoasters," Harry said, smiling.

"No, Ron," said Hermione. "It's not a rollercoaster. Don't be too disappointed," she said hastily. "But it's still a fun ride. You go through scenes from famous movies, like Casablanca, Mary Poppins, Alien and the Wizard of Oz."

"You go into the movie?" Ron asked, amazed.

Hermione laughed. "No, they recreated the scenes using Audio-Animatronic figures and actual audio from the movie."

"That sounds pretty cool," Harry said.

The bus stopped and Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys stepped off. They walked through the parking lot, across the entrance plaza and into the ticket lines. They scanned their tickets and walked into the park. It was like they had stepped into war-era Hollywood, but, as the Weasleys were both wizards and British, it didn't impress them very much. What did impress them was the giant sorcerer's hat in the middle of the park. It was about five stories tall, blue with yellow stars and crescent moons, and yellow Mickey Mouse ears on either side.

"That looks a bit like Dumbledore's hat that he wears to the Welcoming Feast every year," Ginny said.

"Ha! It does," Hermione said, tilting her head to examine it from a different perspective.

"Is there a ride in there? Like in the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom?" Mr. Weasley asked.

"No, I don't think so," Hermione said, consulting her map. "It doesn't say anything in here...but the Great Movie Ride is behind it. Let's go!" She and Ginny set off down Hollywood Boulevard towards the sorcerer's hat. Harry and Ron followed behind, with Mr and Mrs Weasley bringing up the rear.

They passed shops such as Celebrity 5 and 10, The Darkroom and L.A. Prop Cinema Storage. They saw people dressed as starlets waiting for their big break, up-and-coming directors and even a Hollywood Mickey (with a beret, big pants and a bullhorn). Hermione checked the information board to see how long the wait was for the Great Movie Ride.

"Twenty minutes," she said. "Well, let's go before it gets too long." She hurried her companions off to the Great Movie Ride again. They walked under the sorcerer's hat (which had a shop underneath) and were facing the ride entrance. The building was a re-creation of Graumman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, from the red scaffolding on the ceiling to the celebrity footprints on the ground in front.

Hermione led the way to the line and stepped in between the ropes. There was a red carpet below their feet. Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys slowly wound their way through the queue. After about five minutes, they found themselves inside the theatre. It was dimly lit, with Chinese murals painted on the walls and ceiling. In the next room were artifacts from MGM movies, such as a carousel horse from Mary Poppins, a gun and a costume from a John Wayne flick, Dorothy's ruby red slippers from Wizard of Oz and more. Hermione described each movie in detail as they walked through the queue.

After moving through the room, they were suddenly in a room that looked like a movie theatre viewing room. Harry focused his attention on the movie screen at the front of the room that was playing trailers of the movies featured on the ride. Harry forgot for a moment that he was waiting in line, and stood still, watching the trailer for Footlight Parade, until Ron pushed him forward.

"Come on, mate," Ron said. "You can't just stand there."

"Sorry," Harry said. He walked forward and followed Ginny through the line. The next room had large tracks in the middle, with a mural of the Hollywood Hills on the opposite wall. A Cast Member, wearing black pants, a red jacket and a black beret, directed Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys into a line near the tracks.

A large, open topped tram pulled up. It had three large sections, with about ten rows per section. Another Cast Member came by and unlocked the tram door for Harry, Hermione and Ron, who sat in one row, and Ginny, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, who sat behind them. When the tram filled up, a Cast Member, dressed the same as the one who had directed them to their line, climbed in behind the driver's seat.

"Hello, everyone," he said. "Welcome to Hollywood. My name's Josh, and I will be your guide through the magical world of Hollywood motion pictures." The tram started moving. They drove under a large archway that read "Welcome to Hollywood" and were looking at a scene from Footlight Parade.

There were Audio-Animatronic women dancing on top of a large cake. Music from the movie was playing around them.

"Why are they dancing on a cake?" Ron asked.

"Dunno..." Harry answered. The tram drove through that room and an Audio-Animatronic Gene Kelly was dancing and "singing in the rain." The rain was made by a translucent blue screen with a fan behind it, blowing it around to look like real rain.

"I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain," Hermione was quietly singing along. They moved into the next room, Josh describing the movies they had just driven through. "Ooh, I love this movie," Hermione said as they drove into a scene from Mary Poppins.

Audio-Animatronic Julie Andrews and Dick van Dyke were dancing on London rooftops, singing "Chim-Chim Cheree." Hermione continued singing along.

They turned a corner and were in a gangster scene from Public Enemy. "Ya talkin' ta me?" asked an Audio-Animatronic gangster from behind a trash can.

"No," Josh said to the gangster. "I was talking to the people on my tour."

The gangster glared at Josh and suddenly, he stood up. He began walking toward the tram. "He's not Audio-Animatronic," Hermione said. "That's so cool." She was right, the gangster was a real man in make-up, so he would look Audio-Animatronic.

"Get outta da way," the gangster said to Josh.

"No, this is my tour," replied Josh.

"Get 'im, boys." Two more gangsters (who also looked Audio-Animatronic, but were real) climbed into the tram and dragged Josh away. The first gangster hopped into the tram and drove away. "We're gonna be takin' a bit o' a detour," the gangster said, driving straight towards a wall. Harry gripped the bar on the back of the seat in front of him. The wall opened as the tram was about to hit it, and they drove into an Old West scene from a John Wayne movie. John was standing by an old saloon door, smoking a cigar and talking to people inside.

"What's with all this Wild West stuff?" Ron asked. "Is Disney obsessed with it or something?"

"I'm not sure, but Walt Disney was born in Missouri," Hermione said. "And Missouri was on the edge of the Wild West. Maybe that has something to do with it..."

"Oh," Ron said as the car drove into a jungle scene.

"Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahh..." yelled a man with wild, long hair and a loincloth who was swinging through the room on a vine.

Ginny and Hermione started laughing. "I like the loincloth," Ginny said through peals of laughter. Ron turned around to look at his sister. She was doubled over, laughing. His parents were also laughing, though not as hard as Ginny.

"Do Muggles really dress like that?" Mr. Weasley asked.

Hermione answered, struggling to keep a straight face. "Only Tarzan, thank goodness." Neither Mr. nor Mrs. Weasley understood, so Hermione launched into a short explanation of Tarzan.

Soon they exited the jungle room, turned a corner and were in an ancient Cambodian temple. There was a large, red ruby near the top of a staircase to their right.

"Ah, now that one's worth a fortune," said the gangster. He parked the tram and hopped out. "Be right back," he said, a greedy look in his eyes. "Stay where y'all are, or y'all gonna get it." He climbed the staircase. When he approached the ruby, a voice rumbled through the room, cautioning everybody against touching the ruby. The gangster shrugged and grabbed the ruby anyway.

Suddenly, the Indiana Jones theme song filled the room, and a man wearing a fedora ran in. "Stop right there!" he said. "That belongs in a museum!"

"Nah, it belongs with me," said the gangster, taking a step forward. There was a rumbling noise, a cloud of smoke, and...a pile of bones where the gangster had been standing only moments before.

"Where'd he go?" gasped Ginny.

"Special effects," responded Hermione, but before she could elaborate, Indiana Jones hopped into the tram.

"He looks familiar," Harry said.

"Glad that's over," Indy said, removing his fedora. It was Josh, their original tour guide. "So, shall we continue with our tour, then?" A few people, including Hermione, answered with a resounding 'yes'. "Good! Off we go, then." He started the tram back up and they drove into the next room. It was decorated to look like a futuristic spaceship, with red lights blinking on and off. A scared looked woman with short red hair (Signourney Weaver) was hiding in a crevice.

Harry jumped as a large, slimy looking, green alien dropped from the ceiling. Another shot out of the wall next to Hermione. Thankfully, they rounded a corner and were in a totally different room.

"Ooh, Casablanca," Hermione said. "I love this movie. It's so romantic!"

Ron rolled his eyes. "Yeah, this looks romantic," he said. "Standing by an airplane in the rain." Hermione glared at Ron as the Audio-Animatronic Humphry Bogart said to Ingrid Bergman, "We'll always have Paris."

"You wouldn't know romance if it bit you in the bum," Hermione said to Ron.

Harry laughed.

"Oh, as if you're any better," Ron said to Harry, who was slowly fading back to his normal skin color from a bright shade of red.

"Break it up, you three," Ginny said. "You're acting like a group of first years."

Their tram once again turned a corner, and they "weren't in Kansas anymore."

"We're off to see the wizard, the most wonderful wizard of all," sang little Audio-Animatronic munchkins.

"Those little midgets are going to see Dumbledore?" Ron asked.

Harry and Hermione laughed. "No," Hermione said. "The munchkins are going to see The Wizard of Oz.

"Huh?" Ron asked. "The wizard of what?"

"Oz," Hermione said. She explained the movie, Harry interrupting every so often to put in details she forgot.

"Ding dong, the witch is dead," sang more Munchkins.

"Well, they're very anti-magic, aren't they?" asked Mr. Weasley.

"Not really," Harry said. "They're just happy because Dorothy killed the Wicked Witch of the East."

"Ah, I see," said Mr. Weasley.

The tram made one final turn, leaving behind the song "Follow The Yellow Brick Road", and the image of Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion staring down the yellow brick read towards the Emerald City.

They rode through a short tunnel with murals of Hollywood on the walls, and they were back in the room they had started in.

"Thank you for joining me on the backstage pass to some of Tinsletown's most memorable movies," said Josh as the tram doors opened. "Come again and bring some friends!"

Hermione, Ron and Harry piled out of their row and stepped forward to catch up with Ginny, Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley. "That was fun," Ginny said as the building door shut behind her.

"Yes, I likes being able to see the things Muggles have for entertainment," Mr. Weasley said, blinking to get used to the bright light.

"Quiet, Arthur," said Mrs. Weasley. "People are going to hear you use the word 'Muggle'."

"It's OK, Mum," said Ron. "They'll probably just think it's a weird British word. Hey, Hermione," he said. "Where's the rollercoaster you were talking about?"

"Over there," Hermione said, pointing to their left. "See that big building? The Hollywood Hotel? The rollercoaster is right next to it."

"Is that the Tower of Terror?" Ginny asked. "Only because I want to ride it."

"Yeah, it is. And I would like to ride, as well," Hermione answered. "Let's head over there." She and Ginny led the way past the giant sorcerer's hat and back towards Hollywood Boulevard. Instead of continuing straight, they turned to the left and went down Sunset Boulevard.

This area of the park was decorated to resemble Beverly Hills. There were shops such as Legends of Hollywood and the Beverly Sunset. Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys walked past these stores, food concession stands (Ron bought a pretzel because he was "bloody famished") and a gigantic line outside a theatre.

"What's that for?" Harry asked pointing to the line.

"The Beauty and the Beast stage show," Hermione answered. She and Ginny talked about Beauty and the Beast until they reached the end of the street. There was a large cement wall in front of them; to the right was the queue for Tower of Terror, and to the left was the queue for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Hermione disappeared for a few minutes, and returned with little red and white slips of paper.

"The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Fastpass return time is in about an hour," she said, handing Harry, Ron and Mr. Weasley their Fastpass tickets. "So we should be able to go on right after Tower of Terror." She turned to Ginny and Mrs. Weasley. "I knew you didn't want to ride, so I didn't bother getting you tickets."

"Thank you, dear," Mrs. Weasley said. "Are you going to do the elevator ride now?"

"I guess so," Ron said. "Are you riding it, Mum?"

"Oh, no. I think I'm just going to shop a bit. Ginny, I'll meet you over here when you're done with your ride."

"Alright, Mum," Ginny said. "Don't spend too much money."

Mrs. Weasley smiled and waved as she walked back down Sunset Boulevard. Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Harry and Mr. Weasley entered the Tower of Terror queue. They wound their way up a small hill, dead grass and fake dust surrounding them. After about twenty minutes or so, they found themselves inside the hotel. The queue wound around for another twenty minutes until it reached a small library. A doorman conducted Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Harry and Mr. Weasley into the library, and directed their attention to a small television set. They learned the story of half a dozen unlucky hotel guests who were trapped inside an elevator for all eternity. And, how sometimes, "you can still hear them scream..."

The wall next to Ginny opened. She jumped in surprise, but quickly regained her composure and followed he Cast Member who had been standing right outside the door. They were led to another series of lines in what looked like a boiler room. Ron chose the left line and about fifteen minutes later they were standing in front of an elevator. The doors opened and Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Mr. Weasley headed toward the back row. There were three rows of seats, five seats in each row. The five buckled their belts as more people filled up the elevator. The doors shut and the elevator started moving up. They went up to the thirteenth floor, when the elevator started moving forward. The hallway was dark, but lit with little white dots that looked like stars. The Twilight Zone theme song filled the elevator.

The elevator stopped, and turned to the left. It was facing a large window, and they could see the MGM Studios and the sky outside. Before Harry could get a good look out the window, the elevator plunged down. Next to him, Ginny let out a high pitched scream. The elevator stopped.

"Glad that's over," Ron said. He spoke too soon. The elevator started rising up again. It paused again at the window, and plunged down again. This time, Hermione screamed. Ron and Harry laughed. The elevator went up and down one more time. Then it went up one last time. The elevator turned around, went back down the dark hallway and stopped in the elevator shaft. It went down at a normal speed this time.

When it stopped and the doors opened, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Mr. Weasley unbuckled and slowly left the elevator. They were in a basically empty hallway (only the fifteen people from their elevator were there) and they soon exited the hotel.

Ginny met up her mother and they left to shop on Sunset Boulevard. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Mr. Weasley continued to the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster queue. Hermione passed them their Fastpass tickets, and they went into the Fastpass return line. This line with about one-third the size of the regular line and Harry, Ron, Hermione and Mr. Weasley quickly passed the crowds. The line continued inside a large building. It was plainly decorated: blue carpeting, white walls and posters of bands like Lynard Skynard and The Doors.

The queue wound its way through another short area before it opened into a room that resembled a recording studio. Aerosmith music blasted throughout the room, and holographic members of the band were projected into an area of the room separated from the queue by a plexiglass wall.

The door shut and the music stopped. Steven Tyler looked up. "Hey, guys." His voice was projected throughout the room. "They're here."

The other band members looked up and said their hellos to the people in the queue. Another holographic man (Aerosmith's manager) entered the room. "What are you still doing here? The show starts in ten minutes! You've gotta get going."

"Not without them," Steven Tyler's holographic figure said, indicating the crowd watching them.

"What? No, Steven, we can't bring them al in the limo!" said the manager.

"Then get more limos," said Steven Tyler. "If we go, they go." He and his fellow band members stood and left the room. The manager picked up his cell phone and dialed. "Marie? Yeah, get me a few more limos here."

The lights went off (Hermione jumped) and a door at the opposite end of the chamber opened. The crowd slowly made it's way through the door. They entered into another queue.

"Will this line never end?" Ron whined.

"What line? This is the ride," joked Harry. "Ouch," he said as Ron punched him in the arm.

"Boys," Hermione whispered. Mr. Weasley laughed.

The line was rather short, and only five minutes later, Harry and Mr. Weasley, and Ron and Hermione were climbing into the rollercoaster cars. They were turquoise and slightly resembled limos.

Restraints lowered over their shoulders. "What are these for?" Harry asked.

"To hold us in while we're upside-down," Hermione answered.

"We're going upside-down?" Ron asked, shocked, as the ride shot off. They rode through dark rooms, lit only by neon street signs directing them to the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. The ride went upside-down three times, and through quite a few corkscrews, at a top speed of 70 miles an hour, all to the soundtrack of Aerosmith.

A few minutes later, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Mr. Weasley stepped outside. "That was fun," Ron said.

"I agree, but it was a bit dark," said Hermione.

"I'm surprised that I can still feel my arm," Ron smiled.

"I said I was sorry about that," said Hermione, a bit of aggravation in her voice.

"We know that. He's just teasing you," said Mr. Weasley.

"Hello, everybody," Ginny said, running up next to them. Mrs. Weasley arrived a moment later. "What should we do now?" Ginny asked as they stepped back into the crowd on Sunset Boulevard.

"Lunch," said Harry and Ron simultaneously.

"Already?" asked Hermione, glancing at her watch. "It's only ten o'clock."
"Let's do a few more rides, then we can eat lunch," Mrs. Weasley suggested.

"But I'm hung--" Ron started to whine but his father interrupted.

"You just ate an hour ago. I think you can hold out for another hour or so." Ron opened his mouth to whine again, but the look his mother gave him made him close it right away.

"Where should we go?" asked Hermione.

Ginny looked at her map. "Voyage of the Little Mermaid," she responded.

"All right, let's go." The two girls led the way to Animation Courtyard, which was parallel to Sunset Boulevard. The line for Voyage of the Little Mermaid was very long, so Hermione got Fastpasses again. They continued past the theatre to the end of the courtyard, where the Magic of Disney Animation building was housed. They entered the building and joined the queue winding its way through the lobby.

There were foreign Disney movie posters on the walls, such as Mulan from China, Fantasia from Italy and Peter Pan from Germany. The walls were also decorated with animation cels from classic Disney films. Hermione was very impressed.

"Look at this," she said, pointing to a rough sketch from Aladdin. "The whole movie starts out like this."

"Wicked," said Ron. "How do they finish it?"

"A team of over a hundred draw about five different versions until it's like what you see on the movie or television screen," answered a Cast Member who was patrolling the lobby.

"Wow, over a hundred?" Harry asked.

"Yes. And if you'll step right inside, a few Cast Members will describe it more in depth," said the Cast Member. She unhooked the rope for the queue, and directed Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley and about twenty others down a short hallway, into a large carpeted room. There were more animation cels on the walls, but were all from the same movie.

After the crowd settled itself on the floor, a tall Cast Member sauntered into the room. "Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Magic of Disney Animation. My name is Ray, and I am an animator here at Disney Studios. I'm going to take you through a backstage tour of a Disney movie, ending with a drawing lesson.

"First, I'm going to tell you a little bit about our latest movie, Home On The Range." He indicated the pictures on the walls. "Home On The Range is the story of three bovine bounty hunters who go on a mission to find the cow rustler, Alameda Slim, and save their farm. This is the second movie made entirely here in Florida. Does anybody know the first?"

Hermione raised her hand. Harry was surprised at first, but then realized that this was Hermione, and she would never pass up the opportunity to answer a question. "Mulan," she said. "All the other movies were either made entirely at the studios in Burbank, California, or were made partially in both studios."

"Very good," said Ray. "You really know your Disney movies." Hermione beamed. "All right, everybody. Ready to see how a movie is made?" Everyone in the crowd nodded, and Ray indicated for them to stand up and follow him out of the room. They went through a small hallway and emerged in a theatre. Hermione chose seats in the middle.

After the crowd settled down, the lights in the room dimmed, while the lights on the stage grew brighter. A Cast Member appeared on the stage, which was decorated like a giant animator's office, with a huge desk, huge computer (the size of a big-screen TV) and books the size of boulders.

"Hello, everyone!" the Cast Member greeted. "I'm Chris, and like Ray, I'm an animator for Disney Studios. You might have seen some of my movies, such as --."

He was cut off by a red dragon that had appeared on the computer screen. "I'm alive!" it said in an impression of a zombie. It looked at the crowd. "Well, hello there. What have you done to be so lucky as to be graced with my presence?"

"Mushu," said Chris in a warning voice. "They're not here to see you, they're here to find out how a movie is made."

"What? Not here to see me?" cried Mushu. "How can that be? I'm so hurt!" He stalked off the screen.

"Wait, Mushu, come back! I have an idea!" said Chris, just as Mushu's tail disappeared.

"Yes?" asked Mushu, his head peeking out from the opposite side of the screen.

"You can help me describe the movie-making process!"

"Okay!" Mushu fully reappeared on the screen. "What do I do?"

"Just stand there while I explain everything." Chris began explaining how Mushu evolved from an idea to what he looks like now. He described the research, the many drawings and finally finding a voice. Chris also discussed the other sidekicks from Disney movies, from Flounder to Meeko and Flick, as well as Pocahontas' turkey friend that eventually got cut from the film.

After showing the crowd the trailer for Brother Bear, Chris directed the audience out of the room. They exited into a large hallway, and on either side were glass windows, showing real animators hard at work.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and the Weasley parents walked through the hall, watching the animators. There were a few animators in the hallway as well, answering questions. There was one man sitting behind an animator's desk, teaching people how to draw Koda, the cub from Brother Bear.

"Dean would like this," Ron said, referring to their dorm mate back at Hogwarts.

"Yeah. But I'd reckon he wouldn't need the lesson," Harry said. "He's already a rather good artist."

"Harry, Ron, come here," Hermione said. "Drawing lessons! Hurry!" She grabbed their sleeves and pulled them to a room with about four rows of desks, and a movie projector on the wall. Hermione made Ron and Harry sit with her in the second row. Ginny came in with her parents and sat next to Harry. After the room filled, a Cast Member began giving them instructions on how to draw Mickey Mouse. Hermione and Ginny did very well (at least their drawings looked like mice.)

"This looks like a Crumple-Horned Snorkack," Ron said, looking at his drawing with disgust.

"It's better than mine," Harry said. "This looks like Dobby drew it with his fingers bandaged."

"You're right, Harry," Ginny said, looking at the picture over Harry's shoulder. "That is horrible."

"Oh, thanks, Ginny," Harry said sarcastically. "If I ever need a compliment I'll be sure to call on you."

"That's what friends are for," she replied sweetly before bursting out in laughter. Hermione, Harry and Ron joined in on the laughter as they exited the Magic of Disney Animation building into a shop. There were movie posters, animation cels, ceramic figurines, and books. Hermione bought a "How To Draw Disney Princesses" book before Ron dragged her outside.

It was not time for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Ron didn't want to see the show (he said it was too "babyish") but Hermione and Ginny eventually dragged him into the building. The waiting room was decorated like an old shipping warehouse. There were boxes labeled "cargo", fishing nets and yellowing newspaper clippings on the wall, with articles of mermaid sightings. Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys stood in the room with a crowd of others, for about five minutes, Hermione explaining the story of The Little Mermaid, before entering the theatre. Ron headed straight for the back row, but Hermione grabbed his sleeve and pulled him towards a row in the middle.

"These are the best seats, and this is a show where you want to be in the middle of it," Hermione said.

"Why?" Ginny asked as she settled herself in next to Hermione.

"You'll find out," Hermione answered. The lights started to dim as Harry, Mrs. Weasley and Mr. Weasley took their seats.

The lights went down and a little twinkling light appeared on the screen. Music started playing, and the twinkling light grew to show the opening scene of The Little Mermaid. After the scene was over, the screen lifted up to show a dark stage. Water came misting from the ceiling as a spotlight showed Ariel, sitting on a rock, flapping her fins slightly.

"Maybe he's right," she said. A movie screen next to her showed a picture of Flounder, intently listening to Ariel. "Maybe there is something the matter with me." She started singing "Part of That World". The movie screen continued showing clips of the film.

For the next fifteen minutes, a mixture of puppets, live actors and film clips told the story of The Little Mermaid. There were songs from the movie, more mist from the ceiling and even bubbles shot out of the wall.

When the show ended, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley agreed that it was time for lunch. Harry and Ron were so hungry and so happy that they practically ran across the park to the ABC Commissary. They waited outside until the others joined them. Mr. Weasley held the door open and Harry stepped in first. He was in a modern looking room, with silver ceilings and floors, and red walls and chairs.

"What is this?" Ron asked. He was looking at a pink wig. Hermione leaned over to read the label.

"It's from the television program, Alias. It's one of Jennifer Garner's disguises," she explained.

"Ah," Ron said, nodding in understanding. "What?" he whispered to Harry.

"Dunno." Harry shrugged.

Harry and Ron walked up to the counter, passing more props from ABC television programs. Everybody ordered their meal and a few minutes later, they were sitting and eating.

Halfway through his cheeseburger, Ron asked Hermione, "What other rides are here?"

"Well," Hermione said, putting down her sandwich and getting out her map. "There's the Backlot Tour, Star Tours...hmm...that's it."

"That's it? Only two more?" Ron asked. "How much fun can that be?"

"There may not be many rides, but there are a lot of shows," Hermione said.

"Shows? Like what?" Harry asked.

"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," Hermione answered.

"That's the program Dad and I were watching this morning," Ron said. "Do they really give money away?"

"I don't think so, I think they use points and give prizes," Hermione said. "Anyway, there's also Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which we just did, the Magic of Disney Animation, which we also did. Umm, Beauty and the Beast, Muppet-Vision 3-D, Indiana Jones, Sounds Dangerous...yeah, I think that's it."

"Well, I don't think it sounds too bad," Ginny said.

For the rest of the meal, they discussed the rides they had already been on, and what rides they were going to go on. They decided to go to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, as it was closest.

So, after finishing their food and throwing away their garbage, Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys exited the restaurant and walked to the theatre housing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

There was a show starting in about twenty minutes, so Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys got into line, and wound their way through the lobby. Every few feet was a TV screen suspended from the ceiling, showing clips from the TV program, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Not surprisingly, Hermione got almost every answer correct.

"So, what is this show about?" Ron asked Hermione as they got closer to the theatre door.

"Well, from what I've read about it, audience members get to go up into the Hot Seat and answer questions. The rest of the audience gets to play along and whoever has the most points gets to play next," Hermione answered.

The doors opened and the queue was ushered in. The room was decorated like the show, with silver and purple decorations and two chairs in the center. Both had computer screens in front of them.

"Is that the Hot Seat?" Ginny asked.

"Yes," Hermione answered. "Oh, how I would love to sit there..."

Harry, Hermione, Ginny, Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley were ushered to seats about halfway up in a section opposite the entrance. Ron had wandered away, and ended up sitting in the front row, in a Fastest Fingers seat. His family had no idea where he had gotten to, until the show had started.

"Hello, ladies and gentleman!" said the host. "I am your host, Tim. Are you ready to play Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"

The audience began cheering as TV cameras swept the crowd. Broadcast on four large video screens around the room was the audience. The host announced that it was time to start the game. He explained the rules of Fastest Finger (whoever put the four answers together correctly first wins.)

Tim sat down in his seat. "And here is the fastest finger question! Put these Sue Grafton books in chronological order, starting with the first published."

"How are we supposed to know that?" Harry asked.

Tim continued, "A: D is for Deadbeat, B: C is for Corpse, C: B is for Burglar and D: E is for Evidence."

The lights flashed and the music blasted as the audience hurried to get the answers right first. After about thirty seconds, the host announced "And we have our winner! Look at you seat number everyone...And the top five are..." Five numbers flashed up on the screen next to times:

"5...7 seconds

37...8 seconds

79...10 seconds

356...10.5 seconds

38...11 seconds"

"Ginny, we got on there!" Hermione said. She was sitting in seat 37, and Ginny was in 38. Ginny, however, was watching the TV screen.

"Mum, look, it's Ron!" said Ginny. The Weasleys, Harry and Hermione looked up, and indeed, Ron's face was on the screen. It appeared that Ron was the Fastest Finger winner. He walked up to the Hot Seat in a daze.

"Hello, there!" said Tim as Ron sat down. "What's your name?"

"Ron Weasley," Ron answered. His voice echoed around the room, and laughter rose from the audience.

"Are you a fan of the Harry Potter books? Because it sure looks like it," Tim said with a smile.

"Um, what?" Ron asked, looking confused.

"The Harry Potter books," said Tim slowly. "The most popular books of our century?" Ron still looked confused. He looked up to Harry, Hermione and the other Weasleys. They all looked equally as confused. Harry shrugged. "Oh well," Tim said, flashing a large smile at the audience. There was a titter of laughter before Tim spoke again. "Alright, Ron. Are you ready to play Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" Ron nodded.

"And our first question, for one hundred points is this..." The question flashed on the overhead screens as Tim read it aloud. "In America, what is the main ingredient in pepperoni? A: wheat, B: soy, C: pasta or D: meat."

Ron stared at it for a moment, then smiled. "I definitely know this one. It is D: meat."

"Is that your final answer?" asked Tim.

"Yes, it's my final answer."

"Well..." Tim paused as the music blasted. Ron's smile began to droop. "Congratulations! You have won one hundred points!"

Ron smiled and the audience applauded.

"Now for our second question. In Britain, what is a "lorry" otherwise known as? A: toaster, B: truck, C: babysitter or D: elevator."

"Why would you ask a British person this question?" Ginny whispered to Hermione as Ron correctly answered (B: truck.)

"Congratulations. And for three hundred points, which of these organs come in a pair, A: liver, B: kidney, C: stomach, or D: gallbladder?"

Ron smiled. "B: kidney, final answer."

Ron answered the next two questions correctly, securing himself one thousand points. "And with your thousand points, you also receive five Disney pins and a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire hat!" The hat and pins flashed over the TV screen. "And you still have all of your lifelines! Let's continue playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire!"

Ron looked up at his parents, who were beaming at him. Ginny waved and Ron waved back.

"Is that your family?" Tim asked, following Ron's gaze. The cameras also followed, and Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were looking at themselves in the televisions.

"Yeah," Ron said. "That's my mum, Molly, dad, Arthur, sister, Ginny, and friends, Hermione and Harry."

"Wow, you have a large cheering section." The audience clapped. "Here's the two thousand point question: which of these actresses appeared on Charlie's Angels for the whole length of the series, A: Cheryl Ladd, B: Farrah Fawcett, C: Jaclyn Smith, or D: Kate Jackson."

Ron nervously looked up at Hermione. She shrugged. Harry motioned to use a lifeline. "I'd like to poll the audience," Ron said.

"Poll the audience? All right." Tim looked at the crowd. "Everybody, press the button of the answer you think is correct." After about a minute, four numbers appeared on the television screens next to the answers. "A: 18%, B: 22%, C: 48% and D: 12%. Are you going to go with the audience?"

Ron glanced up at Harry and Hermione again. They shrugged, as they weren't allowed to help the contestants. "I guess so," Ron sighed. "C is my final answer."

"And that is correct!" Tom said. "You have two thousand points!"

Ron played his way correctly through the next thirteen questions, using his 50/50 lifeline on the 8000 point question "What does the Arabic numeral "2" look like? A: 2, B: II, C: u, or D: ii." (it was A) and the Phone a Complete Stranger lifeline on the 64000 point question "Which actor did one-handed push-ups at the 1992 Academy Awards?" (it was Jack Palance.)

Ron did so well that the entire audience was cheering him on, and Harry and Hermione were standing up, cheering. He won himself ten Disney pins, a hat and a tee-shirt. Unfortunately, he didn't win the cruise, which was the million point grand prize.

"Our final question, for one million points, is this. On the television program Friends, what is Monica's profession: A: chef, B: fashion consultant, C: paleontologist or D: actor."

Ron's eyes dropped open. "I have no idea."

"Well, you can try to answer, or walk away with your money," Tim said. "What would you like to do?"

"I'll walk away," Ron said.

"Congratulations, and thank you for playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire!" Tim and Ron both stood up and shook hands. A crew member handed Ron his prizes and Ron sat down back in his Fastest Finger seat. "That's all the time we have today," Tim said. "Thank you for joining us here at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Come back and bring your friends!"

Harry, Hermione, Ginny, Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley rushed down to join Ron. "I can't believe you won!" Ginny said, grabbing Ron's mug.

"I didn't really win," he said, though he was smiling.

They exited the building, discussing Ron's spectacular game. Ron jammed the hat on his head and didn't stop smiling. He gave each of his companions a pin and kept the other five for himself.

Without noticing where they were going, they walked to the Disney-MGM Backlot Tour. Standing in front of the entrance, Hermione looked at Harry and the Weasleys. "Do you want to ride this?"

Ron looked at the queue. "Sure, but can we get a Fastpass?"

"Sorry, Ron," said Hermione. "We'll have to wait for this one. There's no Fastpass available."

"I'm willing to wait in line," Harry said while looking at the map. "This ride looks interesting. And there's a Catastrophe Canyon. I have no idea what it is, but it sounds good."

Ron shrugged. "All right. Let's do it."

After over half-an-hour of waiting in line (and a small stunt show along the way) they were finally able to board the trams to ride. Hermione was sitting on the left side, with Ginny next to her. Ron, Harry, Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley were also sitting in their row. They all craned their necks to see the scenery as the tram pulled away.

The tram passed Disney studios, where films and televisions shows are made, a costume and prop construction buildings, Walt Disney's private jet and more. The tram drove past sets demonstrating special effects, and the tram eventually drove through a set demonstrating special effects. There was a giant flood (Hermione got splashed), an earthquake (tram shook uncontrollably) and a fire (Harry felt the heat from the middle of the tram.)

The ride exited into a museum, showcasing costumes and storyboard drawings from Disney and MGM movies. The museum itself exited to a gift shop. Hermione and Mr. Weasley wandered through, looking at the DVDs, games and books from classic movies. Harry, Ron, Ginny and Mrs. Weasley waited outside for them, and when the two finally walked out, they were both carrying bags.

"Oh, Arthur, what did you buy?" Mrs. Weasley asked.

"It's just a few books about Muggle movies," he answered, showing Mrs. Weasley his purchases.

"And what did you get, Hermione?" asked Ron.

"Some movies for Mum and Dad."

They walked along to the next ride, Star Tours. The outside of the ride was decorated like a Star Wars movie, complete with an AT-AT walker from Empire Strikes Back. They waited in line for another forty-five minutes before stepping into the flight simulator. Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys sat in the second row, stored their belonging under the seats and buckled up. The attendant locked them in, said "May the Force be with you" and the ride started.

The ride was designed as if it was a vacation to the moon of Endor. However, the pilot missed the turn and they ended up flying through a comet, getting trapped in a force field and blowing up the Death Star.

"Wow, that was fun!" Mrs. Weasley said as they exited the ride. "Can we go back on?"

"We can go back later, if we have time," Hermione said. "Now I think we should go see the Muppet Vision 3-D show. It starts in less than ten minutes."

So Hermione led the way to the Muppet Vision theatre. The joined the queue and very shortly were ushered into a theatre. This show reminded Harry slightly of The Little Mermaid show, except it had 3-D images instead of live actors. There were bubbles, puppets and even a "bomb" that shot through the movie screen.

After the show, they walked across a courtyard to wait for the Indiana Jones show. Soon, they were ushered into the large theatre (sitting over a thousand people) and the show started after everyone was seated and settled. A stuntman and his crew showcased how stunts are performed in action movies. They pulled people out of the audience as extras and pretended to fight them. One of the extras was Draco Malfoy, which made Harry and Ron laugh uncontrollably. The show was thirty minutes long and action packed. Ron and Harry walked out, wanting to know how to fight like that.

"Hit me," Ron said. "Come on, hit me."

"No, I don't want to kill you," Harry said.

"No, seriously, hit me!"

"Don't hit him," Mrs. Weasley said. "Behave like young, responsible adults."

"Us? Young, responsible adults?" Harry asked, smiling. Mrs. Weasley also smiled.

Harry and Ron started looking through the map. "I want to do this Sounds Dangerous thing," Harry said. "Me, too," said Ron.

Hermione looked at the map, and was about to agree, when she read the line 'Portions of the show take place in complete darkness.' She said, "Er, no thanks. It looks a little too dark for me. I know, you guys ride it and Mrs. Weasley and I can ride Star Tours again. If that's OK with you, Mrs. Weasley."

Mrs. Weasley nodded.

"I want to ride Star Tours again, too," Ginny said. So after making arrangements to meet at Hollywood and Vine for dinner after the rides, the girls headed back to Star Tours while the guys went to ride Sounds Dangerous.

When both groups were finished with their respective rides, they headed over to Hollywood and Vine. Harry, Ron and Mr. Weasley arrived at the restaurant first, though only minutes before Hermione, Ginny and Mrs. Weasley. Thanks to Hermione, they had made reservations beforehand, so they were seated almost immediately. The food was basically the same fare as in the rest of the parks, so everybody ordered their favorites.

When the cheeseburgers, fries and sandwiches were cleared away, Harry and Ron ordered lemon meringue pies for dessert. As the pies were placed on the table, Hermione looked at her watch.

"Oh my goodness, we have to get going," she cried. "Fantasmic starts in an hour!"
"If it starts in an hour, why do we have to go now?" Ron asked, his fork paused right outside his mouth.

"The theatre fills up very quickly," Hermione explained. "If we want good seats, we need to go now!"

"Let us at least finish eating," Harry said.

"Oh, all right," Hermione said, exasperated. "But do hurry up."

So Harry and Ron ate their meringues quickly, and as soon as the check was paid, Hermione rushed everybody out of restaurant. She led them across the park, back towards the direction of the Tower of Terror, and to the Fantasmic theatre. They were able to find seats in the middle of the theatre, about three-quarters of the way up.

After over twenty minutes of waiting, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley were suddenly drenched by rainwater. They hurried to find cover somehow (Hermione put a gift bag over her head) when an announcement rang through the theatre.

"Ladies and gentleman, we are disappointed to announce that due to the sudden change in weather, tonight's performance of Fantasmic will be canceled. Please enjoy the rest of your stay here at Walt Disney World."

"So what are you going to do?" Ginny asked Hermione.

Hermione shrugged. "We can ride some more rides, or we can go back to our hotel. I'm sure we can find plenty of stuff to do."

"Let's go back to the hotel," Ron said. "Maybe we can rent another movie."

"Yes, let's do that," Mr. Weasley agreed. "What do you say, honey?"

Mrs. Weasley nodded in agreement. "It sounds lovely to me."

* * * * * *

An hour later, Ron and Harry were surfing through the movie listings, with Hermione, Ginny, and Mr. Weasley looking on. Mrs. Weasley was in the kitchenette, popping popcorn in the microwave.

"Nothing looks good," Ron said on the third-time through.

"Then let me choose," Hermione said, grabbing the remote away. She scrolled through a few of the movies and their descriptions before choosing one. "Much Ado About Nothing. It's based on a Shakespeare play. It should be good." She settled in as Mrs. Weasley returned with the popcorn.

When Kenneth Branagh walked onto the screen, Hermione gasped and almost choked on her popcorn.

"What's the matter?" Ron asked, looking at her concernedly.

"He--he--looks like Lockhart," she said through coughs.

Harry, Ron and Ginny stared at the screen. "He does!" the three said at one time. They all began laughing, and didn't stop until Emma Thompson appeared.

"She looks a bit familiar, too," Hermione said.

"Who?" Ron asked.

"Her. Look at her," Hermione said, pointing.

"Yeah," said Harry. "I don't see anything."

"Imagine her with big, bushy hair, lots of jewelry and big glasses," said Hermione. A second later, comprehension dawned on Harry's and Ron's faces. "Trelawny," they said in unison.

For the rest of the movie, Harry, Ron and Hermione laughed every time Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson appeared onscreen. When the two kissed in the end, Ron almost fell off the bed laughing.

"I can't believe it," said Ron as the credits rolled.

"What can't you believe?" Ginny asked from near the door. Mrs. Weasley and Hermione had already left, and Harry was brushing his teeth.

"How much those two looked like Lockhart and Trelawny. It was uncanny!" Ron said.

"Lots of people look like other people," Ginny said. "I bet there's somebody out there who looks like you." She shut the door as Harry finished brushing his teeth.

"Do you really think that there's somebody who looks like me?" Ron asked ten minutes later.

"I don't know, mate. Just go to sleep," answered Harry. Ron's snored soon joined Mr. Weasley's, and Harry fell asleep soon after.
