Author's Note:
I just got back from a trip to Disney World, and I wanted to write something fusing Harry Potter and Disney together (they're my two biggest obsessions). I figured a story with my favorite characters vacationing at my favorite place would be perfect!

~prologue~

"Harry! Oy, Harry!" Ron came running into the dormitory, waking Harry from a deep sleep.

"What?" Harry groggily asked, putting his glasses on and sitting up to see Ron better. "What is it?"

"I just got an owl from Mum and Dad!"

"Very good," Harry said. "Can I go back to sleep now?"

"No," Ron said. "It's nearly eleven. Anyway, my birthday is coming up soon, and Mum and Dad are taking us on holiday to celebrate. We were never able to afford it before, but since Dad's Minister now, we can somewhere!"

"Congratulations. Be sure to send me an owl," Harry yawned widely.

"Don't you get it?" Ron asked, smiling. "You're coming with us, mate. You and Hermione."

Harry smiled. "Brilliant! Thank your parents for me. Where are we going?"

Ron consulted his letter. "Some Muggle place in America, called Disney World."

Harry raised an eyebrow. "I've heard of that place. Muggles really like it. American football players always go there after they win matches."

"Hermione says it looks like fun. Oh, we're going during Easter break. Anyway, I have to go tell Ginny." Ron started to leave, but stopped at the door. "You can go back to sleep now, mate."

Harry smiled. "I can't, I'm too excited."

~chapter one~

Harry stepped off the plane and was immediately surrounded by hot, humid air. "Oy, it's an oven in here," Ron exclaimed, hurrying forward to walk next to Harry. Hermione and Ginny were walking right behind the boys, with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley bringing up the rear. They had, of course, invited the whole family, but everyone else was working and weren't able to take the time off.

"Hey, Harry," Hermione called. Harry whirled around to face her. "You've just defeated Lord Voldemort, what are you going to do next?"

Harry smiled. "I'm going to Disney World!" He and Hermione laughed, while the Weasleys looked perplexed. "It's a Muggle thing," Harry explained.

The six of them collected their baggage and went outside to wait for a van to take them to their hotel.

"Dad, what hotel are we staying at?" Ginny asked, grabbing one of Hermione's many travel guides.

"I believe it's called the Grand Floridian," Mr. Weasley answered. Ginny opened the book to the section on hotels, and skimmed through, trying to find the Grand Floridian. She began reading aloud, before Ron grabbed the book away from her.

"You're as bad as Hermione, you know. Honestly," he said, looking through the book with a look of contempt on his face. He brightened up as he saw a section he liked. "Hey! Look at this! Animal Kingdom spans over 500 acres of land, with over 1,000 animals representing 200 species!"

Harry, Hermione and Ginny laughed, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley smiled. Ron turned red and silently handed the book back to Ginny.

A van pulled up in front of them, and the six loaded up their baggage and finally themselves. An hour later, the van pulled up in front of the Grand Floridian resort.

Ginny and Hermione hopped out of the van first, bouncing with excitement. Hermione had to go back, though, to help Mr. Weasley with the American Muggle money. A bellboy helped the Weasleys, Harry and Hermione carry their bags in to the hotel. Mrs. Weasley (with Hermione's help) checked in, and the six headed up to their suite on the third floor.

In the elevator, Ron was studying the buttons with immense interest. Mr. Weasley was studying the entire machine with immense interest. "So, what is this called?" Mr. Weasley asked, indicating the elevator. "An elemavator?"

Harry and Hermione laughed as the elevator doors clanged open. They led the way down the hall towards their suite. Ron and Mr. Weasley were pushing the trolley that was carrying their bags, complaining about not being able to use magic.

Harry and Hermione had trouble with the keys, but they were eventually able to open the door. They stepped into the room and were met with a breathtaking sight. The room was decorated with turn-of-the-century décor. There were printed wall coverings, a marble-topped sink in the kitchenette, ceiling fans and Victorian woodwork.

They were standing in a parlor, with a bathroom and two bedrooms off to the sides. At the back of the room was a mini-bar and a kitchenette. The boys went into one room and the girls went into the other.

"Wow" Ron said, dropping his backpack onto a bed. "This is nice." The room had three beds, a large TV set, a desk and a large window overlooking a lagoon, with the Magic Kingdom in the distance. "I call this bed!" he said, flopping down next to his backpack.

Harry jumped onto the other double bed, leaving the twin bed for Mr. Weasley. Mr. Weasley didn't seem to mind. In fact, he didn't seem to notice: he was very engrossed in the television. "Wow," he said, looking closely at the blank screen. "A fellyvision."

Harry jumped up and stood next to Mr. Weasley. "Would you like me to teach how to use the telly?" Mr. Weasley nodded, and Harry picked up the remote. He pushed the power button and the TV sprung to life. Mr. Weasley jumped back and clapped his hands together. "Amazing! Simply amazing!"

Mr. Weasley sat on Ron's bed, staring, enraptured, at the TV. Harry caught Ron's eye and both struggled to keep a straight face. Harry sat down on his bed and changed the channel as Ginny, Hermione and Mrs. Weasley walked in.

The television was playing a Disney World information channel. A very perky blonde woman was running through a wave pool, which was emitting six-foot waves every few seconds. "Ooh," Hermione said. "That's Typhoon Lagoon."

"Typhoon what?" Ron asked.

"Typhoon Lagoon," Hermione said. "It's one of Disney World's two water parks. It's eleven years old, and boasts America's largest wave pool." Hermione pulled out a map of Disney World, and sat down next to Ron. "This is where we are," she said, pointing to their hotel. "And here's Typhoon Lagoon," she pointed to a spot across the World from them.

"That's all Disney World?" Ron asked, looking at the map incredulously. "Wow...this place is bloody huge."

"47 square acres. The size of San Francisco, or twice the size of Manhattan," Hermione said.

"How do you know all this stuff?" Harry asked. He and Ginny were standing at the window. Hermione and Ron joined them, Ron still looking at the map.

"I read," Hermione said.

"I know that," Harry said. "I guess I meant why do you know all this stuff?"

"Isn't that castle pretty?" Ginny asked, pointing to Cinderella castle. The sun was setting, and was reflecting pink light off the blue castle.

"Kids," Mrs. Weasley said. "Do you want to go to Downtown Disney? We don't want to just sit around all night, and it's free." Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny nodded. Hermione smiled widely. "OK. Arthur and I will go with you, but let you wander around by yourselves. We know how you like doing that." Harry and Ron smiled at each other. "Get ready. We'll leave in a few minutes." Mrs. Weasley, Hermione and Ginny left.

"Get ready? What do we need?" Ron asked.

"Money?" Harry suggested, grabbing his wallet.

"Oh, yeah," Ron said, also grabbing his wallet. "Good thinking, mate." Harry and Ron were ready to walk out the door when they noticed Mr. Weasley wasn't with them. They turned around and saw Mr. Weasley playing the remote control, laughing every time the channel changed. "Dad, come on, we're leaving." Mr. Weasley turned around.

"Oh, OK. I'll be right there, son. If I can get this to turn off..." he stared at the remote blankly.

"Here, Mr. Weasley, let me do that," Harry said, walking over to the TV and turning it off. "Now, let's go."

Ten minutes later, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were on a bus to Downtown Disney. Mrs. Weasley was looking around at the purple, plastic seats, Mr. Weasley was staring at the scenery outside, and the kids were joking about the advertisements above them.

About half an hour later, the bus stopped and everybody piled off.

"Have fun, kids," Mrs. Weasley said. "Meet us back here at nine." She gave Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny each some money and a hug. "Make sure you get dinner. Have fun!"

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny walked across the parking lot, under an archway made of giant (fake) Tinker Toys, and were in Downtown Disney.

Ron and Ginny looked around at the Muggle stores in awe. They were used to the bustling crowds on wizarding markets like Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, but that was nothing compared to this. Muggles of all ages were running back and forth, yelling to each other in different languages, comparing their purchases and exclaiming over the food.

"Where to first?" Hermione asked, looking at a map.

"How about somewhere for dinner?" Ron asked, looking at the map over Hermione's shoulder. "There's a place," he said, pointing. "McDonald's. Yum, Scottish food."

Hermione laughed. "McDonald's is far from Scottish food," she said. "It's as American as you can get."

"What can you get there?" Ginny asked.

Hermione shrugged. "American food? I don't know, it's been a really long time since I've been to McDonald's." She looked at Harry.

He shrugged, also. "The Dursley's never took me. But I've curious. Let's go." Harry led the way through Downtown Disney, past stores like Once Upon A Toy, World of Disney and Lego Imagination Center. Harry saw a giant yellow 'M' on top of a building and figured that it was the restaurant.

Hermione, Ron and Ginny caught up with Harry and the four went inside. "Yum," Ron said. "Smells good in here."

"What's on the menu?" Ginny asked, staring at the glowing menu on the wall. "Fries? What are those?"

"Chips," Hermione said. "Ooh, it's been so long since I've had a cheeseburger. I think I'm going to get one."

"What's a Big Mac?" Harry asked, also staring at the menu.

"It's a double hamburger," Hermione said, walking to the counter, ready to order.

"What's a hamburger?" Ron asked Harry. Harry pointed a picture and Ron looked questioningly at it. "That looks pretty good. I think I'll get it. What about you, mate?"

"Fish and chips, I think," Harry said. He, Ron and Ginny joined Hermione at the counter. Hermione had ordered two cheeseburgers. Harry ordered a fish sandwich with fries, Ron got a Big Mac and Ginny opted for a Chicken McNugget Happy Meal (she wanted the toy.)

A few minutes later, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny set their trays down at a table and began eating.

"Vif iz reree goov," Ron said, his mouth full of hamburger.

"Chew, swallow, then talk," Ginny said, grimacing as Ron opened his mouth, still full of hamburger, to answer.

"That is so gross, Ron," Hermione said.

"'Orry, 'Mione," he said, swallowing. "But this is really good."

"I agree," Harry said between bites. "Can we get a McDonald's in at Hogwarts?"

Ron and Ginny laughed and nodded with agreement. Ginny was playing with her toy, her food lying forgotten to the side. Hermione smiled. "If only," she said. "But, according to Hogwarts, a History, Muggle technology won't work inside the castle."

"Hermione, can we please go a week without any mention of Hogwarts, A History? Please?" Ron pleaded.

"Well, maybe if you would read it, I wouldn't have to quote it all the time," Hermione said, but she was smiling. "Ginny! You need to eat!"

"You're not my mum, you know," Ginny said, putting her toy down and picking up a chicken nugget.

About fifteen minutes later, everyone was finished eating. Ginny sat back in her seat with a contented smile on her face. "American food isn't bad," she said. "Now I'm ready to try some American shopping."

Hermione smiled. "I like that idea. Let's go."

As Hermione and Ginny led the way to World of Disney, Ron asked, "We're not going clothes shopping, are we?"

"Well, I am looking for some new tee-shirts," Ginny smiled.

"No! No clothes," Ron pleaded. Ginny laughed as she entered the store.

"Wow," Hermione said. "Look at this place." The store seemed to go on forever, and there was no question why it was called World of Disney. Every item in the store had the Disney logo emblazoned, embroidered, painted on or drawn on. There was room after room filled with tee shirts, hats, coffee mugs, beach towels... you name it, they have it.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny walked in, open-mouthed. "I think you'll be able to find those tee-shirts you want, Ginny," Harry said, pointing at the far wall, which had at least ten varieties of Mickey Mouse shirts.

"I agree," Ginny said, heading in that direction, as if in a trance. Hermione turned to Harry and Ron. "Meet you at the entrance in half an hour!" She gave them a little wave and followed Ginny.

"Well," Harry said, looking at Ron. "Where do you want to go?"

"I don't care. Let's just go there," Ron pointed to a room to their right. It was full of books, CDs and movies. Harry and Ron amused themselves for about ten minutes by reading sections of the books, and the jackets of the CDs and movies. They then moved on to a room full of jewelry.

"Wow," Ron said, looking at a diamond bracelet. "That's...wow..."

"And expensive," Harry said, looking at the price tag. The two looked at jewelry for a little while longer, then moved on to another room.

Ron counted twelve rooms in the store, each with a different theme. They had fun in the culinary section, trying samples of chocolates and candies. Harry bought some yogurt-covered pretzels shaped like Mickey Mouse and Ron bought a container of chocolate covered raisins.

At eight-thirty, Harry and Ron met Hermione and Ginny at the entrance. Ginny had a bag with tee-shirts, and Hermione had bought a bought entitled The Ultimate Disney Trivia Book, Version Four. Hermione read the book aloud all the way back to the bus stop. Harry and Ron shared their candy with the girls while they were waiting for Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, who showed up a little after nine.

On the ride home, Hermione continued reading the book, but Ginny was the only one who was listening. Harry and Ron were talking to Mr. Weasley about the CDs and movies they had seen. Mrs. Weasley was knitting something that looked like a sweater with a Mickey Mouse on it.

When they arrived back at their hotel, Ginny, Hermione and Mrs. Weasley immediately went to sleep. Harry and Ron wanted to go immediately to sleep, but Mr. Weasley kept them awake with the TV.

After Mr. Weasley had finally turned off the TV, well past midnight, Harry rolled over and looked out the window. The lights illuminating Cinderella's castle were extinguished one by one. Harry smiled, and thought about the next day, when they would be going to the Magic Kingdom.

Author notes: How do you like it so far? It gets better: they still have to go to the Animal Kingdom, Disney-MGM Studios and Epcot!!! Please review, and if you have any suggestions, let me know!
