~chapter two~
Harry was sitting alone by the fire, reading up on some counter jinxes that he wanted to introduce to the D.A. at that week's meeting. He felt someone sit down next to him, but didn't look up.
"Hi, Harry."
"Hi, Ginny," he replied, still not looking up. "Look at this counter jinx. Does it look to difficult?" He handed her the book. Instead of looking at the book, she stared straight into his emerald green eyes. Those eyes are so beautiful, she thought. "What's the matter?" Harry asked her.
"Nothing," she said. "I just wanted to talk."
"OK, let's talk." Harry put the book down and turned to face Ginny. "What do you want to talk about?"
"Us," she said, barely able to keep eye contact with him.
"What about us? We're fine, aren't we? I mean, we're friends, right?" Harry asked.
"That's the problem, Harry. I don't want to be friends." She looked down.
"Don't want to be...what?" Harry looked flabbergasted.
"I want to be...more than friends."
"But..." Harry couldn't finish his sentence, because Ginny kissed him just then.

"Hermione, I'm so glad I found you," Ron said. He was clutching a stitch in his side and was breathing as if he had just run a mile.
"What is it Ron?" she asked, turning away from the lake to look at him. She had decided to take a walk, to clear her mind. After everything Ginny had said to her...it was definitely confusing.
"Oh, just wanted to talk." His breathing slowly returned to normal as he and Hermione began walking around the lake.
"All right," Hermione said. There was silence for a while until Hermione decided to speak again. "Didn't you want to talk?"
"I can't figure out how to say what I need to say."
"Just say it. That always works for me," Hermione said, giving Ron a sideways glance. He was wringing his fingers and he looked paler than usual.
"All right. Here goes...Hermione: I can't stop this feeling, deep inside of me."
"What?" Hermione asked, startled. I had no idea we were going to talk about this, she thought.
"Hermione, you just don't realize what you do to me." Ron leaned over and kissed Hermione. She was shocked, but soon found herself kissing him back. After a minute he pulled away and smiled.
"Your lips are sweet as candy, the taste is on my mind. You just keep me thirsty for another cup of wine." He pulled her into a hug and kissed her again. "When you hold me in your arms so tight," he squeezed Hermione, and she smiled. "You let me know everything's all right." They kissed again.
"I'm hooked on a feeling. I'm high on believing that you're in love with me."
"I've got it bad for you, darling," Hermione said. "But I don't need a cure. I'll just stay addicted, and I hope I can endure. I'm hooked on a feeling. I'm high on believing that you're in love with me." Hermione leaned in for one final kiss before the two walked back to the castle.
