Of Wolf and Wizard

The Lupins never expected their lycanthropic son to be able to attend Hogwarts -- after all, no werewolves have been admitted to the famous wizarding school in over a century. But one summer afternoon, a letter arrives that will change Remus' life forever....

Remus' first year at Hogwarts, continued. Remus gets Sorted and meets a tree. Peter gets a nice surprise from a hat. James tries a spell that doesn't work. Sirius gives James a run for his money in the smart-ass department. Other Gryffindors are met, teachers are introduced, and good times are had by all, except when there's angst. Which there is. But only in small doses.

Remus' first year at Hogwarts, continued. Severus says some nasty things. James gets vengeful and has several Plans. Peter sings a little song. Sirius tries a spell (and it works). Remus has a run-in with a teacher, gets very pissed off, and suddenly becomes very pointy. Classes are had, things explode, secrets are discussed, and eleven-year-olds act very much like eleven-year-olds.

Remus' first year at Hogwarts, continued. Madam Pomfrey fixes some things and gets curious about other things. Mrs. Lupin gets angry via owl. Sirius acts aloof and sneaky. James and Peter read into things a little too much. Professor McGonagall gives Remus a charm lesson. Remus gets tricky, invents a nickname, and thinks minion-ish thoughts. The castle is explored, homework is done, and a few Serious Matters are discussed.

Remus' first year at Hogwarts, continued. James uses a pillow as a weapon. Sirius acts nonchalant. Peter falls asleep, but not as often as Remus. Remus gets tired and grumpy, learns something new about Madam Pomfrey, and faces his first full moon away from home. Potatoes are thrown, Dungbombs are sat upon, a few girls are introduced, the house at the end of the tunnel is explored, plans are followed, and other plans go very much awry.

Remus' first year at Hogwarts, continued. The first full moon sets, and Remus starts to heal. Peter asks a familiar question. James does a little too much snooping for his own good. Sirius catches him in the act. Homework is done, detentions are had (and in other cases, not had), people get angry, and resolutions are made.

Remus avoids a teacher, learns a little bit about the House of Black, and meets someone who may or may not be a vampire. The weather gets worse, the M-word is said, points are taken, a few Slytherins are met, and bets are made, won, and lost.

Madam Pomfrey turns up early and sees more than she bargained for. Remus wonders about vampires, has an argument or two, and faces his second full moon in the house at the end of the tunnel. A certain willow tree becomes popular, an amusing Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson is had, and werewolf-inflicted damage is surveyed.
