"Potter that concludes our career consultation," said Professor McGonagall. Umbridge and McGonagall merely stood silently looking at each other and breathing heavily, until Harry closed the office door behind him.
Dolores erupted "Minerva, don't think that Cornelius and I don't know how ambitious you and Albus Dumbledore are! We can not be fooled by the 'We are motivated by our love of Hogwarts, and are superbly happy here,' speech."
"Then you are dumber than you look, which I had previously believed to be impossible, Dolores," Minerva shrieked.
"Why I never," shouted Umbridge.
"Matched wits with a woman so much more intelligent than you, that is quite obvious. Though I don't know why because you could find one on any street corner," Minerva finished.
Umbridge crossed her stubby arms over her chest and opened and shut her mouth like a Trout. "Minerva McGonagall, get off your damned high horse! I am superior to you in every aspect, I am the Hogwarts High Inquisitor, the Headmistress, and the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic!" Umbridge's voice was now booming.
"If it wasn't for the Ministries interference here at Hogwarts then you would only have one title. If Fudge hadn't forced Albus to accept you as a teacher, and allow you to spy on us all as the Hogwarts High Inquisitor, then Albus would still be Headmaster thus you wouldn't be Headmistress of Hogwarts. You would have only held the title of Fudge's headmistress!" Minerva's voice was now close to the frequency required to break glass.
"What exactly are you insinuating Minerva?" Umbridge's voice was dangerous and low.
"Are you really that dim, Dolores? The only way a woman like yourself could gain power is if you slept your way to the top! All you would need to do is find an easily manipulated man, in a position of power, with an attraction to short, fat women! Enter the blithering idiot Cornelius Fudge!"
"How dare you! You aren't all that perfect yourself, Minerva! As if you didn't seduce Dumbledore into giving you your position here at Hogwarts."
"Albus and I share a purely platonic relationship!"
"That isn't what the Daily Prophet said when he appointed an unknown witch to teach at Hogwarts, then made her Head of Gryffindor House and appointed her to the position of Deputy Headmistress! The reporters believe, as do several Ministry officials that he was merely putting his mistress on the payroll. You must be marvelous in bed Minerva."
"Yes, I must say I am. Whether or not Albus and I are romantically involved is no ones business, but our own!"
"I beg to differ Minerva, the Headmaster being involved with a member of the staff could give said staff member unfair advantages. Oh, the scandal!"
"It hardly matters now that Albus has been removed from Hogwarts and is on the run from the law! I hardly foresee you and I having any romantic entanglements!"
"It's a shame that the Divination Professor position has been filled, that is the best prediction I've heard yet! Don't kid yourself Minerva, even if the DA hadn't been discovered than Cornelius would have concocted some reason to remove Dumbledore from Hogwarts!"
"Like you did sending the Dementors after Harry to discredit him?" Minerva's eyebrows were now shoved together and her eyes were blazing. Her thin nostrils were flared out incredibly far..
"You are a smart one aren't you Minerva," said Umbridge as if she were talking to a five year old. I can hardly wait to do something similar, but much more malicious to you! It would get you out of my hair and bring Dumbledore out of hiding."
"Don't flatter yourself Dolores, I hardly think that you could harm me," said McGonagall while pushing Dolores toward the door.
"Don't make the mistake of underestimating me Minerva." With that McGonagall opened the office door shoved Dolores through, screamed "I'm petrified with fear," and slammed the door in Umbridge's face.
