Chapter 5 The Best Summer Ever, Almost

That evening, Dudley came home from visiting his friends. They had become bored teasing Harry who paid them no mind.

"Mom, I'm Home!" he called from the front door.

"In the kitchen, Dudders!" she called back.

Dudley came into the kitchen only to run back out screaming hands on his oversized rump.

"Dobby is sorry for scaring Dudley Dursley, Miss Petunia," said the sad looking house elf.

"Quite alright, Dobby, is it my fault for not intercepting him before he entered the kitchen. He is more scared of magic than his father is. He has had nothing but bad experiences with magic since Harry found out he was a wizard. Dudley received a pig's tail from Hagrid when he was 11. Then most of the next summer, Harry threatened him with a pair of ears to match. Finally last summer when the Weasleys came to collect Harry, he accidentally found the piece of candy dropped by the twins that made his tongue grow to almost two meters long and thirty centimeters around. Let me go talk with him and fill him in on what happened today," Petunia said to Dobby.

"Tell Mr. Dudley that Dobby only wants to do good in this house, Miss Petunia," Dobby replied. "I have some treats that I made for him if that will help." Dobby had noticed the size of Dudley, what little he got to see of Dudley.

"I don't think that is such a good idea Dobby. His school has put him on a diet. They don't have uniforms that fit him anymore," Petunia said sadly.

"Dobby can help with that too. Dobby has special foods to help Dudley loose weight. Miss Petunia must also put Dudley to work like she did Harry Potter."

"I just don't know yet Dobby. Let's just take a little slow for Dudley and Vernon. I'll talk to Harry about it though and see what he thinks"

At that moment Harry came down the stairs into the kitchen. "Aunt Petunia, I was wondering if you still have some of that pumpkin juice from lunch?" he said to her."

"Yes, Harry, there is still some left." She poured him a glass then asked "Harry, what do you think of Dobby cooking something special for Dudley to help him loose the weight that Smeltings is requiring of him?"

"I don't know Aunt Petunia, Dobby can over do things sometimes. I remember in my second year at Hogworts he almost killed me with a bludger trying to save my life," Harry said. Dobby cringed when he mentioned the bludger. "Dobby, if you can keep the diet gentle and promise to stop when we tell you to, then I think we can give it a go. Aunt Petunia, it is your decision, not mine so you have the final say."

Petunia thought for a moment not sure to trust the overzealous house elf. At last the battle in her mind had finished. "Alright, Dobby, you may start, and while you are at it could you help Vernon as well? Just remember stop when we say stop."

"Aunt Petunia, might I suggest that we don't tell them about this for now. They might not like what we have planned."

"Good idea, Harry. Let us do that," said Petunia knowingly.

"Yes, Miss Petunia. Dobby will get started right away."

Petunia went up to Dudley's room to try to smooth things over.

"Dobby I have one question about this diet that you have planned. How am I or Aunt Petunia to know what food is for us and what is for Dudley and Uncle Vernon?"

"Dobby's diet has nothing to do with food. It is a little house elf magic that helps a person attain their proper size. When Harry Potter eats Dobby's diet he will add weight until Harry Potter is the proper size, and Mr. Dudley will loose weight until Mr. Dudley is the proper size."

"So when we reach the proper size we stop eating the food or does it no longer affect us?"

"Dobbys' diet will stop working for Harry Potter when Harry Potter reaches the proper size."

Petunia returned to the kitchen after her discussion with Dudley and stayed there helping Dobby where she could. After a short time she realized that she would be more in the way, so she just sat down at the kitchen table and watched all kinds of things fly around the room under Dobby's direction.

Later that evening at dinner time, there was all kinds of food available and Dudley and Vernon pigged out like they had never eaten for days. There was a large turkey, pudding, salads, vegetables and deserts available. Harry had been told to wait upstairs in his room as Dobby would be sending some food to him when the meal started. This allowed Petunia to spring on Vernon and Dudley the new law of the house without Harry getting caught in the crossfire.

"You've outdone yourself tonight Petunia," said an overstuffed Vernon.

"I didn't cook Vernon," said Petunia rather smugly.

"W-W-What?" stammered Vernon, "Where did all this wonderful food come from?"

"My kitchen," she replied.

"Who cooked it then?" he asked.

"Dobby," she replied.

"What poison did that little monster put in the food?!?" Vernon said rather put out that the little house elf had prepared the most delicious meal that he had ever tasted.

"No poison, Vernon, just good wholesome food, and I watched him make it. If you think that you will go against what Professor Dumbledore wants in this house concerning our nephew then you will have to deal with me, for I will not be cooking for the rest of the summer."

"One more thing," Petunia said turning to Dudley. He had been rather quiet hoping that his mother had forgotten the diet that Smeltings had sent home. "Starting tomorrow, Dudley, you will take over for Harry in the gardens and other outside chores here."

Dudley's jaw dropped in shock. "I'm going to work, in the gardens? I won't do it, Mummy!"

"You can and you will do the work, Dudley" Petunia replied. "If you want to go back to Smeltings with your friends, you will have work for it. Don't worry Dudley I will not starve you like I did with Harry. Dobby here will make sure that you are fed properly and he will take care of the inside of the house." She pointed to the kitchen doorway where Dobby was standing trying hard to keep from laughing.

Vernon and Dudley were speechless after hearing what Petunia had to say. They were in total shock as she normally referred to Vernon for any rules that were laid down at home. Now she was taking matters in her own hands and they didn't know what to do about it.

Vernon's face started turning purple all the way down to his non existent neck. "How dare you tell me what we will and won't be doing in this house, I lay the law down here," he bellowed. "It is bad enough that we have had that freak under our roof for the last fourteen years. I will not allow him to practice his freakish ways in this house. I won't stand for it!!"

"Well would you rather lie down then? I'm sure that I can have the headmaster place you under the full body bind again," said Petunia coolly.

"Or Dobby could do that too," said the over zealous little house elf. He was getting rather upset at Vernon's attitude and was ready to take action.

Petunia gave Dobby a look that told him to back off, but he was ready to defend her if needed. Vernon was so furious with his wife that he couldn't speak. All that came out were incoherent grunts and sputters.

"Vernon I am done with accepting your way of thinking about Wizards and Witches. You had best remember that I could have been one of them had I shown any of that talent like my sister did." She stood up from the table and her hair looked like it wanted to stand on end if it wasn't for her hair spray. "Harry will be allowed to practice magic in this house, or you will have to deal with me."

Vernon's face went white looking at his wife. She looked like Harry had in the car on the way home from the train station. He wasn't sure that he could throw his weight around the house ever again. Dudley just looked at the exchange between his parents and was scared so much that he had lost his appetite.

Dobby feeling that the danger had pasted picked up a tray from the table and disappeared with a wisp of smoke only to appear in Harry's room a moment later. He told Harry what transpired downstairs in the dining room.

"I didn't know that she had it in her to stand up to Uncle Vernon," said Harry laughing, "or to talk to Dudley like that. Normally that brat gets anything he wants. Did you do something down there, Dobby? I felt some magic downstairs, but I couldn't tell what happened."

"No sir! Dobby didn't do anything, though he wanted to. Mr. Vernon looked like he might attack Mrs. Petunia at one point then she looked almost like a witch and that was enough to put Mr. Vernon in his place"

Harry began to wonder if Aunt Petunia had some ability that hadn't manifested itself when she was younger so she had never tried. He decided to ask Albus about wizarding powers showing later in life when he saw him next. Then a smile started to crack across his face. Harry could see that this was going to be the best summer ever, almost. The only thing missing was his friends and the usual trip to Diagon Alley.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harry took the next few days to catch up on sleep and food. He even spent a little time working on some of his homework and trying to get the hang of his wandless magic. Dudley began to work in the yard and started to loose weight. Dobby shrank his clothes and Vernon's so they wouldn't realize what was happening right away. He also took some time remaking Harry's old clothes by mending the tares, and places where they were worn through, and shrinking them so they fit him better.
On Friday as Harry was working in his room, he noticed that the air was becoming electric with power. He thought it was nothing but an aftereffect of his wandless magic But as Harry continued, he noticed that there was a different 'taste' to the power that was emanating from his surroundings. He went to the window and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. He didn't hear anything either, not even the birds that would normally be singing. However he noticed that there was magical power emanating from his window. This power didn't have a bad aftertaste to it, but he was on guard just the same. He went to his desk and picking up his wand he put it a special pocket in his pants. Even though he was beginning to get the hang of his wandless powers he wanted to be prepared just the same.
At that moment he sensed something magical behind him. He spun around, wand ready only to see Dobby appear out of a wisp of smoke. Dobby looked at Harry, wand ready to strike and his eyes faintly glowing. He put up his hands to his face to protect himself. "D-D-Dobby didn't mean to frighten Harry Potter sir. J-Just to let him know that lunch will be served in the back garden sir," Dobby said. Really frightened of Harry for the first time, he started to back away slowly.
"Dobby, I'm sorry about that, I am just a little jumpy right now." Harry said putting away his wand and his eyes returning to their normal patterns. "I don't know what is going on, but there has been something magical done to my window but I can't tell what.
"Dobby used elf magic to clean Harry Potter's window this morning sir" Dobby said trying to ease Harry a little.
"That's not it Dobby. The back yard seems to be normal, but I am not hearing anything at all not even the birds and that is not normal."
"Dobby must go back to the kitchen to finish preparing lunch sir. I will come and get Harry Potter when it is ready," said Dobby.
"Ok, Dobby, just be on the lookout, something is not right" said Harry as Dobby disappeared in a wisp of smoke.
Harry was still on edge a while later when Hedwig flew in the open window a little later. His window still showed nothing but an empty backyard. Hedwig dropped the note on Harry's desk. "What do you have there, girl?" he said to her as she gave him an affectionate nibble. Harry opened the note and realized that it was from Dumbledore.
Harry,
Stand next to your window, hold your wand and say 'Finate Incatartum'.
Albus
What is that all about, he thought? He did as he was told; however, he didn't use his wand. He stood next to the window his eyes started to glow, and he said "Finate Incatartum!" It was like a shade had been lifted from his window. A large crowd appeared in the backyard out of nowhere, and they all shouted "SURPRISE!!" The shock on Harry's face was priceless.
He saw the Weasleys, Hermione and her parents, Seamus, Neville, and Dean were there. The Griffendor Chasers Alicia, Angelina and Katie even Oliver Wood the old Keeper was there and Uncle Vernon and Dudley were off in a corner. But what surprised him most in the back of the crowd was Cho Chang.
She wore a small yellow sun dress tied in the back so it hugged her curves in all the right places. Her long black hair was hanging loose, a small breeze played with it fanning it out to her right side. On her face was the smallest amount of makeup in neutral tones that only helped to soften her angular features all the more. Her chocolate brown eyes caught his attention and he felt like he was falling into the pensive of her soul. The pull was so much that all he could think of was being by her side. One instant he was looking at her from his bedroom window the next he was on her left looking at her profile which seemed even more beautiful than he had imagined.
Everyone gasped as Harry's eyes glowed for a moment before he had disappeared from the window, wondering where he had gone. Cho however didn't, she had felt him reappear at her side. She turned to meet his green eyes getting equally lost in their depths as he did with hers. Albus knowingly turned around to see them looking at each other. "Harry, so nice of you to join us," he said with a twinkle in his eye.
Both Harry and Cho were snapped out of their respective trances by his words. Harry, realizing where he was, asked, "P-Professor, how did I get down here?"
"Why you apparated Harry, and without a wand I might add," Albus said quietly, smiling.
Surprised faces turned around to see Harry standing next to Cho, and everyone started to ask him questions at the same time. Harry didn't know what to say, and he was getting rather confused.
"Everyone please calm down!" yelled Albus. "As all of you know Harry is a very special wizard to all of us. He is just beginning to really understand what he is capable of doing. However I ask you to keep your questions to yourselves and keep this little incident quiet. It is imperative for his safety as well as for everyone else here."
"Harry I will speak with you privately after the party. I know that you have some questions for me as I have for you," Albus said more quietly so none of the others could hear. Cho heard it though as she was right next to Harry.
"Harry why don't you greet the rest of your guests I need a moment with Miss Chang here," Albus suggested.
"Ok, Professor," said Harry as he turned to the Wealseys.
"Harry, that was so wicked. I didn't know you could apparate," said Ron.
"Ron," chided Hermione slapping his shoulder, "we are not supposed to talk about that now."
Ron, rubbing where she has slapped him, looked at Hermione rather hurt. Harry couldn't decide whether it was from the pain in his shoulder or for some other reason.
"I think that it would be ok if the three of us talked about it but not right now, too many other ears around." Harry said smiling at Hermione quietly thanking her for what she did.
Hermione smiled back, a very pretty smile that almost took his breath away. He looked at his best friend a little closer now. She had chosen a pair of tight fitting jeans and top. Hermione was a late bloomer but the last month since he had last seen her on platform 9 ¾ she had really blossomed. Ron noticed the way Harry was looking at Hermione and said, "Harry what's up with you and Cho?" shaking Harry out of his trance.
"I don't really know, Ron." Harry replied honestly. "There is just something about her that I have never seen before, something that I am not sure what to think about it."
"Don't worry mate you'll figure it out soon enough," said Ron, giving Harry a wink.
Harry noticed that Hermione shot a rather evil look at Ron. There is something going on here that I am not fully aware of, he said to himself.
"Harry, dear, how have you been?" asked Molly coming up to the trio. "I've been so worried about you since I heard how bad they were treating you here. I can see that things have changed a little for the better."
"Mrs. Wesley have you had the opportunity to meet my Aunt Petunia? She has been the one helping turn things around here," Harry said steering Molly in Petunia's direction.
When Harry and Mrs. Wesley came up to Aunt Petunia she said, "Happy Birthday Harry."
"Aunt Petunia, how did all my friends get here? Who's idea was this party?" asked Harry.
"They came by floo mostly, Harry," she replied. "The party was my idea and Professor Dumbledore did the inviting."
"Oh, thank you Aunt Petunia," he said. "Have you met Mrs. Wesley?"
"Only briefly, when she and her family arrived, we haven't gotten to know each other yet," Aunt Petunia said.
While Molly and Petunia got to know each other better, Harry went over to his teammates.
"Oy, Harry, fraternizing with the enemy?" said George
"Now don't be giving away our training secrets away," joked Fred.
"What do you mean fraternizing with the enemy?" asked a confused Harry.
"Earth to Harry," said Katy, giggling, "we saw the goggle eyes you gave Cho. Remember, she is the Ravenclaw seeker."
"Just ignore them Harry," said Alicia. "If you need any advice on how to treat a lady don't ask Fred or George."
"Yea," said Angalina with a smile, "ask one of us, we won't steer you wrong."
"Has there been any talk about who is going to be the new captain?" asked Harry trying to change the subject, "or how we are going to find a new keeper? That is if we have a season this year."
"No, nothing yet, Harry, we figured we would wait for school to start," said Fred with a mischievous grin on his face.
"Yea! That way we can have McGonagoll help us," said George elbowing his twin in the ribs.
Harry felt that they weren't telling him everything but let it go. "I'll talk to you later guys. Gota go see the rest of my guests."
He turned around and almost bumped into Ginny. She was another girl that had changed quickly over the summer. Ginny was wearing a V neck top and a short skirt that showed Harry just how much she had grown. She was not a little girl anymore.
"Like what you see Harry?" she asked him noticing how he was looking at her.
"I'm not sure what you mean, Ginny?" replied Harry a little confused by her newfound confidence. She had always been shy around him, and he knew that was because she had a crush on him from the beginning.
"I think you know what I am talking about," she said getting closer to him.
He was getting rather nervous around Ginny. Her perfume was starting to have an effect on him, it was almost too much, and it began to overpower his senses. He had to get away from this predatory redhead.
"Hiya, Harry," said Dean coming up to Harry and Ginny. "I didn't think that your aunt and uncle would ever be giving you a party let alone inviting all of us here"
Neville and Seamus were with Dean and Harry saw his opportunity to escape. "I never thought that would happen either," he said a little relieved.
He started to walk over to them when Ginny grabbed his arm and spun him around. She wasn't going to give up easily. She got close to him and planted a kiss right on his lips. Harry didn't know what to do. He just stood there wide eyed and confused. He felt like he was kissing a sister not a woman. Ginny pulled away stunned that he didn't return the kiss.
"I'm sorry Harry, that wasn't like I expected." She apologized turning away abruptly and ran over to her mother pretending to be interested in what Molly and Petunia were talking about.
Harry was even more confused now then on the changes in Ginny's attitude toward him.
"Hey, mate, what was that all about?" asked Ron.
"You tell me, Ron, she is your sister," Harry said.
"Harry you've got all the girls here acting strange," said Semus.
"Yea, Harry, even Hermione is acting different around you" added Neville
Harry looked around for Hermione and noticed that Albus had cornered her like he had Cho. It was almost like Albus was running interference for Harry. He hoped that Albus would talk with Ginny as well and try to straighten her out. The only feelings he had for Ginny were that of an older brother, nothing more.
Eventually Harry finished greeting his guests and returned to talk with Cho. She looked a little shell shocked from her conversation with Dumbledore. Harry understood, being in the same situation just a few days ago. "Cho, are you alright?" he asked her.
"I'm not sure, Harry. Professor Dumbledore just told me a lot of things that I am having some difficulty comprehending," she said.
"Anything that I can do to help," Harry asked?
"That is the most confusing of all. He asked that I not talk to you about our conversation though it was almost entirely about you," she said looking a little worried.
"Well, if I cannot help you then maybe you need to spend some time letting it sink in and sending an owl to Albus when you are ready. Want some pumpkin juice?" he offered.
"Yes, I will take some please. I will also take your advice on my conversation with the headmaster," she replied.
Harry led Cho over to the food table and ladled out some juice for both of them. "Cho, I need to know something." Harry said as he handed the glass to her.
"What is it Harry?" she asked
"What did you feel when I appeared in the window, and we locked eyes? I felt something that I have never felt before, and I want to know if it was just me."
Cho blushed a little at Harry's question and replied, "Yes the feeling was mutual Harry," as she blushed even more. "I have heard that powerful emotions can act as a catalyst to uncontrolled magic so you must have felt something very strong for you to apperate like you did."
"You are the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen." He said making Cho blush even more. "Cho, I have to be honest with you, I am not sure that I am ready for a serious relationship right now. I have a lot of training to go through and with Voldemort out there hunting me down, I don't feel that I can risk the life of anyone else. If you or anyone else were to become my girlfriend, she would become a target for him as well."
"What if we kept it quiet, Harry," she asked
"You know as well as I that our relationship would eventually come out in the open. Voldemort has spies in the school, Malfoy is one of them. His father is one of Voldemort's most trusted Deatheaters. He would find out sooner or later." He said sadly. "We can still be friends and see how things develop. I just don't want to take things too fast, especially with your life at stake."
Cho's blush had faded as Harry spoke and with a sad tone to her voice she said, "I understand Harry. I like the idea of being friends and seeing what happens in the long run though. It will be hard however as I have been thinking of you all summer, you have even visited me in my dreams." Her blush came back full as she said that. "I'm sorry Harry, I shouldn't have said that." She started to turn away ashamed for divulging her most secret desire to the one she felt she loved.
It was Harry's turn to blush. He put his hand lightly on her arm stopping her from leaving. "Cho, don't be ashamed for saying that. It lets me know where I stand with you. You are the first one to show me more than just friendship and I think that I like that."
Cho's smile returned at Harry's words. "It is getting late Harry and I do really need to go home. Don't be a stranger, write to me and let me know how things are going, Ok?" she asked.
"Ok, Cho, I will. Let me walk you to the fireplace," he replied. He led her back into the house and to the living room. "Thank you for coming, Cho, you don't know how much it means to me."
"You're welcome Harry." She said as she moved in to hug him and she went to give him a kiss on the cheek. He moved slightly not knowing what he was doing and their lips met. It was a brief kiss but Harry thought that someone had set off a bunch of filibuster fireworks in his head.
"I had better go," said Cho as they separated blushing yet again. "I will see you on the train." She reached into the flower pot sitting on the mantle and threw some into the fire. The flames turned green, and she said 'Rowrena's Ranch' and she disappeared with the flames.
"You handled yourself quite well there Harry," said Dumbledore from behind him. Harry jumped in surprise. "What you and Miss Chang have decided to do I think is the best choice in any relationship even without the threats of Voldemort hanging over your heads."
Harry and the headmaster went back outside to the rest of his guests and enjoyed themselves with the fun that the twins had decided to unleash on the unexpected party goers. There were already a few guests that had became large canaries others had grown rather large tongues. Vernon was beside himself near the house incase he felt the need to escape the madness. Dudley had found a new treat, Pompous Pork Rind. He had turned into a pig and was strutting around oinking at everyone like it was natural. When he was over by the punch bowl, he looked at his reflection in the punch and squealed like someone had stuck him. Then 'pop', and he was back to himself. After that he stayed away from the food and stood next to his father, out of the way. Harry was laughing so hard after seeing Dudley that he had a hard time standing. After a short while Albus walked purposely to the twins and told them that they had to set everyone straight and remove all the tainted treats. Even with the protections that Albus had put around the Dursley's fence there was still a chance that this could be seen. He didn't want to draw attention to where Harry was staying during the holidays.
About an hour later Aunt Petunia told Harry that it was time for everyone to leave. She turned to the crowd and got everyone's attention. "I want to thank everyone for coming to Harry's surprise party. I'm sorry but it is time for everyone to head for home," said Aunt Petunia. "Harry would you like to say goodbye to everyone as they leave?" she asked Harry.
"Yes, I would like that. I'll head over to the fireplace and wait for them as they get ready to leave." He replied, sad that the party had come to an end.
Under one of the bushes next to the shed there was a pair of little beady eyes watching everything. These eyes belonged to a fat little rat. As the rat turned to leave, you could see something shining on it's right paw.
Harry felt that there was something next to the shed but couldn't see anything. As the feeling left him it left a bad aftertaste in his mind. He decided to discuss it with Albus later in the evening. He turned around and headed inside to the living room to say goodbye to his guests.
Harry said thank you and goodbye to everyone as they left. Ginny and Molly were the last to leave. Ginny had avoided Harry since she had tried to kiss him. Molly noticed this and insisted that she talked with him before she would allow her near the fireplace.
"H-Harry, I'm sorry about what happened," Ginny managed to stammer out.
Harry decided to try and clear the air between them. "Ginny, I do love you." Ginny's eyes opened in astonishment. "But not in the way you think. You are like a sister to me just like Ron is like a brother to me," he said to her.
Ginny was quiet for a while, she had hung her head with Harry's last statement. Harry thought that she didn't understand what he said so he continued. "Ginny I had three beautiful girls here today, you are one of them. Each one of these girls was trying to get my attention, and I am not sure what to do about it except what I am trying to say to you now. Just please remember that you are like a sister to me no matter what happens."
Ginny finally found her voice and responded, "Harry that kiss I gave you didn't feel right to me either. I guess that I misread my feelings for you. You are like a brother to me, and I don't want to jeopardize that relationship anymore."
"I'm glad that we agree on this. It will make my decision easier." Harry said relieved that they saw eye to eye. He gave her a hug and one to Molly as well. "Goodbye Ginny, I'll see you on the train."
"Well, Harry, only one guest left and she is waiting outside as her and her parents came by car," said Aunt Petunia.
Harry walked out the front door and there next to the curb was Hermione and her parents. He realized again how beautiful she looked as he walked up to them.
"Thank you for coming Hermione," he said as he came up to them.
"It was a fun party Harry," said Hermione. Thank you Mrs. Dursley, for inviting me."
"Quite alright, Hermione" Aunt Petunia smiled back to her.
"So this is the boy who you have been writing to all summer?" asked Hermione's father.
Hermione blushed slightly, "Yes, Dad, this is Harry."
"Well we had better get going, we have a long drive home yet tonight. Nice to meet you, Harry," he said.
"Why don't you two go ahead and get in the car, I will be there shortly," said Hermione blushing a little more.
Why was Hermione blushing thought, Harry? We are just friends nothing more, or is there something more?
"Harry will we see you in Diagon Alley?" she asked hoping to see him again soon.
"Sorry, Hermione, Albus wants me to stay here until it is time to catch the train." He replied sadly. "As long as I am with Aunt Petunia, Voldemort cannot find me."
"Oh," she said sadly. "It'll not be the same getting our school supplies without you there, Harry
"I know Hermione. That is the only thing that would make this the best summer I've had," he said
HONK, HONK " Come on already, Hermione, we need to get going," said Hermione's father.
"Just a second, Dad. I guess I need to get going Harry," she said starting to blush again.
"See you on the train, Hermione," said Harry turning to go back into the house.
"Harry?" he heard Hermione say from behind him. He turned around only to meet Hermione's lips. At first he was just surprised then the fireworks started again. After a short while, she broke the kiss and looked into his eyes which were slightly glowing.
Harry was speechless. He had just been kissed by his best friend and he liked it. He didn't know what to say as she just looked into his eyes and he into hers.
"Harry, what happened to your eyes, they're glowing?" she asked sounding a little frightened.
It took Harry a moment to register what she had just said. He blinked and their light went out. "Oh they do that when I am beginning to do something without a wand or something highly emotional occurs."
She smiled shyly and blushed as she said "Well, Harry, I've got to go. Keep in touch and let me know if you want to talk about anything."
She turned back to her parents car and waved as they drove off. Harry waved back although a little awkwardly until they were out of sight.
"Well, that was an interesting turn of events," said Aunt Petunia knowingly. "It seems like you have more than one girl after your affections. If you want someone to talk to you can come to me."
"I'm not sure right now but thank you Aunt Petunia." He said still a little shell shocked.
"Well, Albus, is inside waiting for you, he wants to talk to you before he leaves for the day," she said.
