Chapter 4 The Headmaster's Visit

Harry awoke to the sound of pounding on his door.

"POTTER!!!!! GET UP YOU LAZE ABOUT!!!!" shouted Petunia.

He looked at his new watch and saw that it was 9 am.

"I'm awake, I'm awake!" he shouted back. "Give me a minute to get changed." He must have taken too much of the potion last night.

"Its about time, I have been pounding on this door for the last hour. Now get out of bed, you have chores to do," yelled Aunt Petunia.

Harry felt well rested and ready to start the day after sleeping the night with no nightmares. He reached under the loose floorboard and grabbed a piece of meat pie knowing that there wouldn't be any breakfast this morning. After he had eaten his pie and finished dressing, he went downstairs to start his day.

"Nice of you to come out of your slumber to do some real work instead of sawing logs in your dreams," Petunia chided when he came into the kitchen.

Uncle Vernon was at the table reading his newspaper. Normally he would be at the office but needed to use some of his vacation time, or he would loose it.

Petunia continued her tirade, "No breakfast for you, get busy. You can start by cleaning the breakfast dishes, then out to the back to weed the garden. When you are done with that come back in, and I will have more work for you."

Harry did as he was told knowing that the Headmaster would be arriving today to straighten out his relatives. After finishing the kitchen he went out to the work shed, opened the door and went inside. Harry almost fell back in shock seeing a large black dog in the middle of the shed.

"Snuffles, you almost scared me half to death," Harry said realizing who it was.

The dog reared up on his hind legs putting his front paws on Harry's shoulders and looked him in the eye. Next thing Harry knew he was looking at his Godfather.

"Good to see you too Harry," Sirius said with a twinkle in his eye.

Harry gave his Godfather a big hug. "What are you doing here? You are still on the run from the Ministry, and the Muggle Police are on the lookout as well."

"Not glad to see your Godfather on your birthday, Harry?" asked Sirius

"Sure I'm glad to see you, but I don't want you risking your neck just to see me," said Harry.

"Don't worry about me Harry. Albus will be here soon, and I wanted to see you before he came. I have a promise to keep, here," said Sirius.

Sirius handed Harry a box. Harry opened it and inside was a smaller box and a small leather bound book. Inside the smaller box was a Golden Snitch.

"Better close that box or the Snitch might fly off," said Sirius. "These two items belonged to your parents Harry. The Snitch was James's, and the journal was Lilly's. Each will have a special message for you when the time is right. Now you better get back to work before your aunt starts yelling at you again."

"Thanks Sirius, when will I hear from you again?" asked Harry.

But there was no reply as Sirius had already changed back into Snuffles, and jumped out of sight through the back window. Harry put the two presents in his pockets. He gathered the tools needed to weed the garden and went outside.

Meanwhile at the front door of Number 4 Privet Drive stood a man with a long white beard and half moon spectacles. He was wearing a smart 3-piece suit, a bowler hat and carried a briefcase and a cane. He rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer.

"I'm coming!" answered Petunia. "Wonder who that could be?" she thought.

She opened the door and saw the man. "We are not buying!" she responded sharply.

"Well, I'm not selling, Mrs. Dursley. My name is Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts," replied the man at the door. "May I come in and have a word with you and your husband?"

"We weren't expecting you and my husband is at work," she lied.

"Vernon Dursley is here madam. If would kindly let me in, we can keep this conversation quiet, or would you like your neighbors to know that a wizard lives in this house?" said Albus coolly.

Surprised that he would know that she had lied and turning white as a sheet she stepped aside and let him in. "Vernon, would you come here please?" she called.

Vernon came to the entryway and looked at the man there.

"My wife said that we are not buying!" said Vernon coldly

"And I kindly said that I am not selling," said the headmaster.

"Then what are you doing in my house!?!" asked Vernon.

"I am Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster at Hogwarts. I am here to speak to you about Harry," he replied.

Vernon went white as a sheet. "W-W-Won't you come in to the lounge and sit down Mr. Dumbledore?" he finally stammered. "Petunia, would you see if he wants anything to drink, and I will go collect Harry."

"I don't need anything to drink thank you. I need to speak to the two of you privately before I see Harry." Albus said.

"Please sit down we have much to discuss," Albus began. He could already tell that he would have problems with Vernon, but Petunia was a different matter.

"I am here to inform you of the gravity of the situation that Harry is in. This includes you whether you like it or not. You see the Wizard that is after Harry is one of the most evil that this world has ever seen. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants and that is the destruction of all muggles and Wizards that stand in his way to ultimate power."

"I don't see what that has to do with us," said Uncle Vernon gruffly. "We didn't do anything to this Wizard," he spat out the last word like it was poison.

"Mr. Dursley, you are a muggle, a person who cannot perform magic. In Voldemort's eye you are a parasite that needs to be exterminated."

"Can't your Ministry of Magic take care of this menace?" asked Uncle Vernon uncertainly.

"Alas no," Albus responded with a sigh. "Voldemort is too powerful, has too many followers and has spies in the Ministry. The only person capable of eliminating Voldemort is Harry. For Harry to do that he needs to be trained in the basic and advanced forms of magic, some so difficult that only a few are able to master them."

"Why does it have to be Harry?" asked Petunia. Even though she had been mean to Harry since he had arrived on their doorstep, she always had a soft spot for him hidden deep inside that was only now starting to emerge.

Dumbledore's eyes began to twinkle after hearing Petunia's response. She might be good for Harry given enough information and guidance. "That I cannot tell you right now, Petunia, it would take too long and you wouldn't understand. Suffice it to say that Harry is the only hope for both of our worlds to survive the battle that is brewing. If Harry looses to Voldemort then no one is safe, and nothing will stand in his way for total conquest."

"Why doesn't this Voldemort person just come and take Harry?" Vernon said not wanting any part of this.

Albus sighed, Vernon was going to be more of a challenge than he had wanted. "Lilly cast a charm on Harry and herself just before Voldemort killed her. That charm was transferred to all her blood relatives, you Petunia, and Dudley if I am not mistaken, when she died. This charm protects Harry while he is in your presence from being located or harmed by Voldemort."

"I have had enough of you speaking about that freakish world of yours in my house! I want you to leave and take Harry with you!" Vernon screamed. He had had enough of this nonsense and wanted it to go away.

Dumbledore's eyes went hard at Uncle Vernon's last statement and his grandfather like demeanor disappeared. He stood up out of his chair, cane in hand. "Vernon Dursley, I have had enough of your standoffish attitude about this dire situation! I would gladly take Harry out of this house permanently if I had that option! As it is this is the safest place for Harry during the summer holidays. He will be staying, and he will be allowed to study magic in this house! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?!"

The air around Dumbledore became electric with power as he began to loose his temper. Harry felt it as well even though he was outside.

"I WILL NOT STAND TO BE SPOKEN TO LIKE THIS IN MY OWN HOUSE!!" shouted Vernon as he jumped up. He was livid and beginning to foam at the mouth.

"Then you leave me no choice!" said Dumbledore wearily. He looked like he had the weight of the world on his frail shoulders.

"Petrificus Totalus!" He said pointing his cane at Vernon.

Vernon's arms snapped to his sides. His legs sprang together. His whole body rigid, he swayed where he stood and then fell flat on his face, stiff as a board.

"VERNON!?!" screamed Petunia. She ran over to where he had fallen and turned him over. "What have you done to my husband you evil man!" she shouted at Dumbledore.

"I am not evil, Petunia," Albus responded wearily sitting down. "I have only put a full body bind on him. He can hear and see but not speak or move. This is the way he will stay until I release him. I have had enough pussyfooting around this entire situation."

Albus opened his briefcase and pulled out a piece of parchment. "Here is an order releasing Harry from the restriction on underage wizards. He may now practice magic as an adult wizard without any consequences from the Ministry or the School."

Petunia went white as a sheet. She remembered how Harry looked when he threatened her with magic at the beginning of the summer. She could see what Albus was saying and why it had to be this way, but she was afraid for her life and the lives of her family.

As if reading her mind Albus sat down and said, "I know that you are frightened about this whole situation, Petunia. Honestly I wish that things could be different. You don't know how hard I have searched for an answer that would allow Harry to leave here. But we have no choice right now. Harry must be allowed to expand his powers, and the way you have been treating him here is not doing anyone any good if not making matters worse. One more thing, I will be leaving a house elf with Harry as an added precaution. Dobby can be a little zealous in his duties, but I think that he can behave himself if you can treat him with a little respect. He will help with the house cleaning inside, but I don't think that you would like to have the neighbors to see him. He is also an excellent cook.

He turned to the side of the chair that he was sitting in, "You may show yourself Dobby." He said to the empty space.

Dobby appeared out of thin air and a wisp of smoke standing next to Albus to the shock of Petunia and Vernon's eyes went wide.

"Dobby will protect Harry Potter from harm, even from you!" Dobby said angrily to the Dursleys.

"Now, Dobby, I think that I have taken care of the situation here. You don't need to add anymore insult to injury," chided Albus.

"Dobby knows this, sir, but he will be ready just the same. Dobby only wishes to protect the great Harry Potter."

Albus smiled at Dobby then turned to Uncle Vernon frowning. "Vernon I will release you from the bind if you promise to behave yourself. Blink twice if you understand."

Vernon thought for a moment. He looked at Petunia who nodded gravely. He didn't have a choice now, so he looked at Albus and blinked twice.

"Finite Incatartum!" said Albus and Vernon was able to sit up.

"I will see Harry now," Albus said.

"I will go and get him," said Vernon gruffly getting off the floor wanting to get away from this mad man.

"No I will!" said Petunia standing. She gave Vernon a look that said she was not going to back down in this issue.

Vernon sat back down on the sofa.

Harry heard the back door open. He looked and he saw his aunt come out. He noticed something different about her. First of all she wasn't screaming at him for something that he did or didn't do. Second she looked like a scolded puppy or someone who had been put in their place.

She walked up to him and said softly. "Harry, I want to apologize about the way that I have treated you up until now."

Harry looked at his Aunt Petunia in shock. She had never in his fourteen years with them spoken a kind word to him.

Seeing the look on Harry's face Petunia continued, "Harry, Professor Dumbledore is here and had a talk with us explaining the need for you to study magic here during the summer. I have also seen that I have been selfish and short sighted."

Words began to fail her as she began to choke on the emotions of what happened just a few moments ago. She put her hands to her face, knelt down and started to cry.

Harry knew that this was going to be hard for her and that something drastic had occurred during her conversation with Professor Dumbledore. He had felt Dumbledore's power a short while ago.

"Aunt Petunia," Harry said knelling down next to her. Putting his hand on her shoulder he continued, "You don't have to say anymore. I know that I was dropped off on your doorstep and that you wanted nothing to do with me or my parents. I have no hard feelings against you, Uncle Vernon or Dudley, apology accepted."

She cried for a little while with Harry trying to comfort her as best he could. Petunia whipped away her tears and looked at Harry. "I'll take care of those tools Harry." She said holding out her hand after regaining her voice. "You had better go inside and see your headmaster."

He handed the tools to Petunia, rose and said, "Thank You Aunt Petunia, we can talk more later if you wish." Then he went inside.

Harry went to the kitchen sink and washed up before looking for Dumbledore. As he finished drying his hands, he turned around and saw his headmaster looking in on him. Harry was a little surprised to see Dumbledore dressed in something other than robes.

"Hello and Happy Birthday, Harry," he said.

"Thank you, professor. I'm sorry for staring, I'm just not used to seeing you dressed like that," Harry replied.

Albus chuckled, "That is quite alright Harry. Though truth be told I do prefer robes to muggle clothes, too restricting, if you know what I mean."

He raised his cane and said, "Robus Returnus." In a flash Albus was again dressed in his usual robes and his cane transformed back into his wand. He pocketed the wand and said, "Shall we go to your room for a little privacy, Harry?"

"This way professor," as Harry started to lead Dumbledore upstairs to his room.

Dumbledore replied, "Harry, while we are out of a school setting please call me, Albus."

"I will try Prof- er Albus," Harry stumbled.

Harry led the way upstairs. Albus shook his head seeing the lock on the door and the bars on the window. The Dursleys were not treating him well at all up to this point, and he hoped that things would change for the better.

"I have a few questions for you before I answer any you may have Harry. The first one is just for my curiosity, how did the Weasley twins solve your window problem?" he asked looking at the bars still on Harry's window.

"Here let me show you," Harry replied with a grin.

Harry opened the loose floorboard and pulled out the blank parchment that the twins gave him. Placing the parchment against the bars the handle appeared again, and he pulled open the 'door'.

"Ingenious," exclaimed Albus.

Harry closed the 'door' and the parchment fell to the floor.

"We need of a more permanent solution to this problem Harry," said Albus.

He took his wand out and transfigured the bars into a new cage for Hedwig. He levitated the cage onto Harry's desk. Hedwig flew in the now open window and landed on her new cage hooting gratefully to the headmaster.

"You're welcome Hedwig. Now Harry how have you been treated these last few weeks? From the looks of you, you haven't eaten much at all."

"All I have had to eat has been bread and water since I got your last letter Albus." Harry said looking at the floor. "Though Hermione has been able to get a protein bar to me each night for the last week."

"Another thing that we will have to remedy, but this may take a little longer to fix. Dobby show yourself," Albus responded.

Dobby appeared standing on Harry's bed just like he had seen him the first time nearly 3 years ago

"Dobby, it is good to see you," Harry said.

"Dobby is glad to see Harry Potter too, sir. Dobby is here to help Harry Potter get well again and to protect Harry Potter from he-who-must-not-be-named and others wishing to harm Harry Potter," Dobby said bowing low.

"If you are referring to my relatives then I don't think you need to worry about Aunt Petunia. She spoke to me with kindness and asked for forgiveness just before I came inside. Do you know anything about this Albus? I felt your power for a brief moment."

"I had enough of your uncle's attitude and put him in a full body bind. I only released him after he promised to behave himself," Albus replied sadly. "My actions may have affected you aunt's behavior along with some information that I had to give them."

At that moment there was a soft knock on Harry's door. Harry rose and opened it.

There in the hallway stood Aunt Petunia with a platter of sandwiches and a pitcher of something orange to drink.

"I thought that you and your guests might want something to eat and drink, it is close to lunch time," said Petunia rather meekly.

"Is that pumpkin juice?" asked Harry looking at the picture.

"Yes it is, Harry. I found this in the refrigerator a moment ago. Though I don't for the life of me know where it came from," said Petunia.

"Dobby put it there madam. Please forgive Dobby if he shouldn't have" Dobby apologized.

"That is quite alright, Dobby," said Petunia. "It brings me back to when I was a little girl."

"Petunia, would you care to join us?" asked Albus knowingly.

"Well if it is no trouble, Professor," said Petunia shyly.

"No trouble at all, Petunia. Here let me draw you up a chair."

He took out his wand and that is exactly what he did. Drawing in the air a chair began to take shape. When he finished he expertly placed it on the floor next to his. He bowed to Petunia, "Your chair milady."

Giggling like a schoolgirl Petunia sat down in the new chair. "I've never seen anything like that before," she said.

"Aunt Petunia," Harry said quizzically. "You said that pumpkin juice brought you back to your childhood. I always thought you were a muggle born."

Petunia blushed slightly and looked down, "Harry, I'm not a muggle, I'm a Squib. Your Grandma and Grandpa Evans were Squibs too, though they chose to live like muggles. When Lilly was born and started to show some talent, they were thrilled and didn't pay me much attention as I didn't show anything of the sort. It was that lack of attention that caused me to despise Lilly and all of her kind. When I met Vernon, I had the opportunity to leave the Wizarding world forever. At least I thought so until you were dropped off on our doorstep." She started to cry, "Please forgive me Harry. Until today I didn't know that I was trying to stamp out the only hope that both our worlds had for survival."

"There, there Petunia," said Albus patting her shoulder. "We will still be able to recover from what has been done. If I remember correctly, Harry has already forgiven you. There is no need to ask it of him again. We have only been set back a few weeks in his training, no real harm done. Besides I had to wait for permission from the Ministry before I went forward with my plans, so we have not lost much time as it is."

Harry was even more confused by this confession from Petunia and statements by Albus. Dumbledore turned to Harry and said, "Harry, let us eat first. Then we can continue our conversation more able to take in information. I find it easier to discus things when I am not distracted by an empty stomach." He always seemed to be reading Harry's thoughts and feelings.

"Here," said Harry. "I don't want Mrs. Weasley's food to go to waste either."

Harry opened the loose floorboard under his bed again and pulled out the box that she had sent. He opened it up and with a surprised look on his Aunt's face the pies, breads, and cakes spilled out all over.

"Take anything that you want," he said.

After each of them selected something, he looked at Dobby. "Why don't you join us Dobby?"

"Dobby shouldn't be eating with Harry Potter, sir. Harry Potter is Dobby's master." Dobby replied looking down at his feet.

"Nonsense Dobby, you are not my servant you are my friend." Harry said looking at the little elf that he had freed from the Malfoy's.

At this Dobby started to cry looking from Harry to Albus. The headmaster nodded his head. "Harry Potter is too kind, 'sniff', treating Dobby as an equal," the little house elf finally said. Dobby then picked up a small piece of pie, sat down on the floor still looking rather misty eyed.

Albus poured a glass of pumpkin juice for Dobby setting it down next to him. Harry pushed the button on the underside of the lid and everything else went back into the box.

"When and where did all this come from, Harry?" asked Petunia eyeing the loose floorboard. "And what else do you have hiding in that floor."

"I'll tell you as we eat," he said. "This food was delivered last night along with several letters and other presents. The food was sent by the mother of my friend Ron. I had ten owls in here last night, the most that I have had on my birthday." He turned around and started pulling out the gifts that his friends had sent.

Albus started looking over Harry's stack of presents, and so did Petunia. She spotted the box of pastries and took a cream filled one.

"I wouldn't Aunt Petunia," said Harry but he was too late she had already taken a bite.

"Why?" she asked just before she turned into a large canary with a loud pop.

"That's why," said Harry trying hard to stifle a laugh.

Albus looked at Petunia and asked, "Harry, what did you do to your aunt?"

"I didn't do anything; those were given to me by Fred & George. Don't worry," said Harry "this one won't last long."

Sure enough Petunia sneezed and molted all at the same time. She looked herself over and noticed that she was back to herself with yellow feathers all over the floor. "What was that Harry?" she asked

"A Canary Cream" Harry replied still trying hard not to laugh. "The Weasley twins are pranksters and will be starting their own joke shop when they graduate. Here, Albus, try this wand."

Albus gave the wand a wave and the next instant he had a mackerel in is hand. Laughing he replied, "They sure do have a good base to start from."

"Yes they do. Thankfully most of their creations have a time limit and the victim returns to normal or the trick is otherwise harmless, most of the time. There is the Tong Ton Toffee that still has a few problems that need to be worked out last I knew."

"Is that what they slipped Dudley last summer?" asked Petunia, starting to giggle.

"Yes that's the one," Replied Harry "I am sorry about that, I didn't know about it until after the fact."

"Quite alright Harry, though at the time it wasn't too funny, we can laugh about it now." said Petunia

After a short while all three were laughing at some of the tricks that the twins had sent. None of them ate any more of the trick treats though.

Albus finished looking at what Harry had received when he noticed the small red box that held the Phoenix ring. "Harry, what is in that small red box?"

"It is a ring but there was no name on it, so I didn't put it on. Do you know anything about it?" Harry asked.

"May I look at it Harry," said Albus slightly concerned.

Harry handed it to Albus, and he opened the box. "My, my, my," he finally said after examining it for a few minutes. "There is defiantly some magic in this ring, but I cannot tell what."

"Dobby sent that to Harry Potter, sir," piped up the little house elf. "Dobby made it to help with Harry Potter's scar."

"What is it supposed to do, Dobby?" asked Harry

"Dobby made it to keep Harry Potter's scar from hurting too much. This way when Harry Potter has to face he-who-must-not-be-named again the pain will not stop Harry Potter from doing what he must."

"Thank you Dobby that was very thoughtful, and useful," said Harry putting the ring on.

"Well, I had best leave you so you can have your private discussion," said Petunia. She got up and closed the door as she left.

"Albus, why did you have to go to the Ministry before my training could begin and what training are we talking about. I can't do anything without my school stuff it is in the dump." Harry's questions started to come out like a waterfall.

"Slow down Harry," said Albus chuckling "I will answer what questions that I can. First I want you to read this." He said handing Harry an official looking document.

Harry unrolled the scroll that Albus handed to him. He looked at it and it said,

By the order of this proclamation,

Harry James Potter is now released from

the Restriction on Underage Wizarding.

Furthermore Harry James Potter is allowed

to practice Magic equal to that of an

adult wizard from this day forward.

Cornelius Fudge

Head Minister

Ministry of Magic

"Albus, what does this mean?" asked Harry. He was not sure what to think of the proclamation he held in his hand.

"Harry, with the rebirth of Voldemort, we need to speed up your schooling. You are the only hope that the world has for finally defeating him. You have survived four encounters with him over the years including the killing curse. Even now he is looking for you. He is getting some information from the muggle world of all places to aid in his search. Where he is getting this information I am not sure. I do know that he is also using your dreams to try to break down your resolve so when you do face him again, he might be able to turn you over to his side. If that were to happen there would be no stopping his reign of terror."

Harry thought for a moment. "Is that why you had Madame Pomfrey send me the potions?"

"Yes Harry, you will need plenty of rest, so you can get your strength back and to train in what we will be teaching you over the summer. You and some of your classmates will also have extra classes during the school year."

"What will I be training in and who will be getting the training," asked Harry

"As far as who will be receiving the extra classes, it is best you do not know. Right now, I want you to start working on one of your gifts. Harry, do you remember how you feel, when you are about to loose control of your magic abilities?"

"It is usually when I am getting angry. I get a tingly feeling around my eyes. That feeling then builds into pressure. It is when I feel the pressure that I'm about to loose control.

"As I expected, your Aunt Petunia told me about the time you tried to get her to give you your school trunk. Your eyes began to glow. I am guessing that is when you were feeling the pressure behind your eyes at that time." Harry nodded in reply. "Harry you have a gift for wandless magic. That is what I want you to work on for the next few weeks. That and any homework you need to complete for start of term. If you are having any troubles with the wandless magic send Hedwig to me, and I will do what I can to help."

"Start by getting angry about something to the point where you feel like you are about to loose control, then try to do a spell. Try levitation first then others. I will have Miss Granger do some research for you as well. After you are successful with the first few spells try to bring them about without the anger. This may be the most difficult time, be sure to let me know how things are progressing."

"Professor, how am I going to study and finish my school work without my stuff? If I have to stay here all summer, how am I going to get any new supplies and all my books for next term?" asked Harry getting worried. "I am going to have to get a new broom and Quidditch gear. My father's cloak is irreplaceable along with a few other items."

It had finally hit Harry that he wouldn't see any of his old stuff anymore and he started to tear up.

"I almost forgot about that Harry, here." Albus opened up the briefcase and pulled out a small box giving it to Harry.

Harry opened the box "Toys? How am I going to do any school work with toys?" Harry said almost on the verge of loosing his composure.

"Place the 'Toys' on the floor Harry," Albus said with a twinkle in his eye. "Now get angry at me for not giving your things back to you."

That part was easy as Harry was now really upset with Albus. He needed his school stuff so bad and Albus was trying to replace all that with miniature toys. Harry started to feel the tingle around his eyes then the pressure started to build. His eyes started to glow even brighter that ever before.

Albus seeing this started to smile, "Now look at the 'toys' and say 'Engorgio'."

Harry was about to lash out at Albus when it dawned on him what he was trying to do. His eyes dimmed slightly as the realization of what was about to happen hit Harry full force. He looked at the toys again and saw that they were exact replicas of his trunk, broom and even Hedwig's old cage. "Engorgio," said Harry.

When he said it Harry felt the pressure release and the 'toys' started to grow to the size of his actual trunk, broom, and Hedwig's cage. He ran to the trunk and opened it so sharply that Albus was afraid that it would break. Harry saw his school stuff on the top. He started to rummage through and found his father's cloak, the marauders map and his photo album on the bottom. Everything was there including some new things.

"I had taken the liberty of collecting what you would need for the next term and a few additional items that may come in handy in the coming months," said Albus.

Harry turned around with tears of joy in his eyes. He ran over to the headmaster and gave him a big hug. Albus didn't expect this and was almost knocked over.

"There, there, it's alright Harry," he said soothingly. "You do have friends that care for you and even family now. There are others that I think would like to be included in that circle of friends if you would only let them."

"How..." began Harry. He couldn't bring himself to speak yet, he was too choked up.

"How did I recover all your things, Harry?" Albus finished for him. Harry nodded allowing Albus to continue. "I have some people working in the sanitation department catching anything that might be magical in nature. When they spotted your things, they were brought directly to me. I have kept them safe for the last two weeks until I could bring them to you without your uncle throwing them out again.

Harry, I think that you have had enough excitement for one day. I will leave you for now so you can rest and recoup from the last few weeks. Dobby here will make sure that you are taken care of. With your Aunt Petunia's change of heart, that may not be as necessary as I had originally thought."

"Dobby will do what he must to protect Harry Potter sir," said Dobby very seriously.

"I know you will, Dobby," said Albus. "I will return here to check on your progress every few days Harry, and to give you some additional instruction. Bye for now, Harry"

"Goodbye, Albus" said Harry.

Dumbledore disapparated with a 'pop'!

As it was only mid-afternoon Harry decided to look at what new items Albus had added to his trunk. He pulled out a stack of new books and started looking them over. One in particular caught his attention, "Finding the Animal in You, a Book on Becoming an Animagis." There was also another book, "Apparation Made Easy" and finally there was "The Standard book of Offensive Dueling"

"So I am going to learn how to become an animagis like my father, get an early start on apparition and perfect my dueling techniques," Harry said aloud.

"Harry Potter must be ready for anything sir," said Dobby surprising Harry. He had forgotten that Dobby was there. "We do not know what He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has planned for Harry Potter."

The rest of the books were the normal books for the rest of his fifth-year classes. Harry put them all away except for the book on animagis training and sat down on his bed to begin reading.
