Lavender Brown was sitting under the tree by the lake, waving her wand about and dreaming about Won-Won. Suddenly, a big flash exploded in her eyes.

"Hey watch it!" she yelled, and looked up to see Dennis Creevey. Now usually his brother Colin was the one taking photos, but Dennis developed an interest for it over the last year.

"Oh, sorry, I'm just taking pictures."

"I can tell, what with you holding a CAMERA and everything!" She was not in a good mood, and Dennis got really scared.

"I...I didn't mean...Lavender...I...uh..." Dennis fainted, bashing into the tree and sliding down it. Lavender went frantic. She squealed, and tried to wake him up by slapping him. When that wasn't working, she splashed some lake water on him. He finally woke up, gasping for breath.

"Uh...thanks!" Dennis wiped his face and sat up next to Lavender under the tree.

"So, why were you taking pictures of me?" Lavender asked.

"Well, I was going to sell the pictures to the school newspaper. You are a feature in the new gossip column."

"What for?"

"Well, because...and I know these rumors are ridiculous...because people are under the impression that you love Ronald Weasley! AS IF!" Dennis cried.

"Elaborate a little more," Lavender ordered.

"Well, they say that you guys were sn...sno..."

"OUT WITH IT CREEVEY!" she yelled.

"SNOGGING! They said you guys were snogging each other at the quidditch party. How crazy rumors get these days, right?" Dennis explained.

"What's so ridiculous about that?"

"Well...it's just that Weasley's...quite frankly...an idiot!"

"AN IDIOT! NOBODY TALKS THAT WAY ABOUT MY WON-WON!"

"So it's true?"

"Yes, duh!" Lavender yelled.

"Well, I'll get out of your way. I've got what I needed." Dennis ran away very fast.

"What?" Lavender cried, but Dennis was already gone. She sat back down and continued dreaming about Won.

A few days later, the school newspaper was published. Lavender went to pick it up in the morning, and she noticed that people were staring at her and smirking. Whatever, she thought, maybe the gossip got twisted, and who cares about that? She got to the stand and picked up the top copy, ready to flip to the gossip section. But as soon as she saw the front page, she dropped the paper and screamed so loud that all the paintings covered their ears. Everyone laughed as fuming Lavender picked her paper up off the stone floor. She rolled it up and stormed away, heading for charms, where the third year Gryffindors were in class.

"Excuse me professor Flitwick, the headmaster would like to speak with Dennis Creevey." Lavender heard a gulp.

"Well, of course. Up you get, Creevey!" Dennis walked out of the door, and followed Lavender outside, back to the tree they were sitting by yesterday.

"Sit down, Dennis." Lavender pointed to the grass, and Dennis sat. She pulled out her rolled up newspaper and started whacking Dennis with it very severely. He kept yelling, and she kept hitting, until...

"Stop, stop, stop!" Dennis cried.

"Sure. Now you can explain how this got on the cover." Lavender unrolled her newspaper and shoved it at Creevey. He flushed.

Here is the front page article in question:

Won-Won's Speshul Admiwew!

Lavender Brown, sixth year Gryffindor, confessed to an associate of the paper yesterday that she is completely obsessed with Ron Weasley, affectionately called "Won-Won" by the young lady. However, the school wonders if the relationship is serious, or if it is strictly physical.

"...it's mostly snogging..." Ron said to a friend earlier in the week, and who knows what Lavender feels. Although it is quite obvious that she is on the brink of worshipping the young man, we wonder if the feelings are reciprocated. Continued on page E6...

Dennis was speechless, and, clutching the newspaper, ran back to charms as fast as he could, while Lavender sat at the tree and continued dreaming about Won-Won.
