Chapter Six

Prophecies

The next morning the entire hall was disrupted by two Howlers received by Ginny. One from Mrs. Weasley:

Ginny how could you? Hexing

Another student! You have

No idea how ashamed I am!

When I got that Letter . . .

The other from Percy and the twins, Fred and George:

Ginny I can understand

why you did what you did

but . . . Aw shut up Percy! . . .

Gin that was brilliant! How

Come we never got away with

Anything like that? . . . Young

Draco went crying to Dady!

. . . As usual. Yeah when

Malfoy senior came marching

into our shop yesterday . . .

For five long minutes everything was shouted for the entire school to hear. Insults of every nature were thrown at the Malfoy family and there was nothing anybody could do about it!

When Harry and Ron received their schedules they both let out audible groans. "What's wrong?" Ginny asked over the top of her own.

"Double potions followed by double divination!" they chorused.

"Well we got the opposite so don't complain," Ginny mumbled.

"Ouch," Ron said snatching Arora's schedule, "but you've got Lupin directly after. We don't get him till Thursday!"

Arora took back her schedule and grabbed a muffin as Colin Creevey ran by grabbing her and Ginny's arms. "Come on we only have five minutes!" Ginny fell out of her seat crashing into Arora's knees, making her loose her balance. Arora sprawled back into Colin causing the three of them to land on the floor while the Hall rang with laughter. Climbing to their feet Ginny choked down a few more bites and the three of them headed for the North Tower.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Potions went pretty much like normal with the usual taunts from the Slytherins, Neville's traditional cauldron melt, and Snape docking points. Also as usual Harry managed to get in trouble. Malfoy had spent most of the lesson trying to land dead spiders in his hair. Snape hadn't yet noticed. Harry snapped, picking up a dead newt he flung it across the room hitting Malfoy squarely on the nose.

"Detention Potter and don't let it happen again!"

Ginny looked up and prodded Arora awake. The first period of divination was over, but the second was just beginning and she was not going to suffer alone. "Aren't you going to pay attention?"

"I am." Arora shifted her bag silently so Ginny could see. Underneath the table was an acid green quill writing furiously on a Muggle note pad.

"A Quick Quotes Quill?"

"Yeah bought for history of Magic. Think I might get more out of it here." Ginny snickered, but stopped suddenly to sate at Trelawney who had gone rigid in her chair. The Quick Quotas Quill turned to a new page and paused waiting. Then Trelawney spoke:

The time will come when the

Orb is found. Danger in front

and following behind. Alliances

will shift, loyalties change.

To two it will be left to hide.

Deep in the forest they must

travel. The knowing and the

seeker. Past the lovers of

shadow and out again. In

Centurion hands the orb must

be laid.

Trelawney looked up, "Well what are you waiting for get to work on your fire omens."

"But Professor," Colin said shakily, "You just had a vision!"

"Preposterous." Arora ducked under the table and Ginny watched as she made a couple of copies of what had just been said.

"Professor it's true!" another student cried.

"Nonsense," Trelawney frowned, "Miss Weasley will you kindly go to Dumbledore and tell him of the disruption this class is causing." Ginny stood up, taking the Paper Arora suck her, and climbed down the ladder.

Fifteen minutes latter Ginny raced through the corridors, leaping down stairs, trying to make it to the dungeons before the bell rang. Unsuccessfully she skidded into the classroom. One look at Snape's face confirmed, she was late.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Remus Lupin looked up as the Gryffindor fifth-years filed into his room, smiling at the conversation.

" I was talking to Professor Dumbledor! You'd think he'd cut slack for that!" the red head practically yelled. Remus reflected briefly that she was Ron's younger sister, Ginny right?

"And detention for wearing this bloody mask without permission! You don't mind do you professor?" he looked up at the blond and shook his head. "Thanks," she turned to Ginny, "he was probably just mad you hexed Malfoy."

Remus smiled. That would be exactly like Snape.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Can you believe it!" Harry yelled in outrage as Ginny and Arora stocked into the room, "detention on the first day!"

"Yeah," Ginny grumped, "we got one too!" Arora put on a sour face and did a very lifelike impression of Snape.

"What was it Ginny? 'That is not to be worn in this class with out permission Miss. Grant detention!' of coarse he let me keep my mask when he realized how uneasy my face was making his precious Slytherins. 'You too Miss. Weasley, your late, and I don't care if you were talking to the headmaster himself. Sit down and be thankful I'm not taking points."

"That's exactly what I was doing," Ginny mumbled bitterly.

"And why exactly were you in Dumbledor's office?" Ron asked leaning forward in his chair.

"Oh Trelawney . . ." they were joined by Hermione who curled up on the floor by Ron's feet. Harry raised an eyebrow and looked at Ginny, who ducked behind Arora so no one would see her laughing.

"What About Trelawney?' Ron asked when she had calmed down.

"Oh she just made a true prediction for once." Hermione snorted.

"No it's true!" Arora took the notepad out of her bag and set it on the table, "I was taking notes with a Quick Quotas Quill." Harry looked at her suspiciously "Don't those go a little over board?"

" Oh no you have to program that." Seeing the look on Ron's face Arora took out the quill and placed it tip to tip with her wand. "Script linguis. insult all Malfoys, Crabbs, Goyls, Parksons, and Snapes. Try it Ron!"

The quill quivered slightly on one of Harry's spare pieces of parchment, and he watched as Ron leaned over and said,

"Draco Malfoy plays seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch teem. The Gryffindor seeker is Harry Potter." Harry stared as the quill went berserk.:

Snob nosed, arrogant,

Self-centered Draco Malfoy,

had the guts to use his self

righteous father's money to

buy his way on to the Hogwarts

house Slytherin Quidditch

team. The Gryffindor seeker is

Harry Potter.

Ron grinned and continued to talk about potions class, quill insulting Snape, Crabb, Goyl, and even Pansy Parkson, while writing about the Gryffindors normally.

"Harry, I can't make any sense out of this prediction . . ." Hermione was cut off as a school barn owl soared through the window and dropped a letter on the table. Picking it up Harry groaned. Snape had apparently let his last class of the day demolish the dungeons so he, Arora and Ginny would have to spend the next few hours cleaning.
