Chapter Six
Harry stayed the weekend at Remus's then went back to school on Monday. He immediately went to Dumbledore's office.
"Sir," he said sitting down across from him, "do you have any idea who kidnapped Brian, or they would've?"
He shook his head sadly. "I honestly have no clue why, Harry."
Harry voiced the question that feared him. "Do you think Voldemort sent a Death Eater to kidnap him?"
"I don't know. It's possible I suppose, but I don't know why Voldemort would have any use for him. Severus hasn't been called to any meetings lately, so we don't know what he's up to. You better leave now, or you'll be late for class."
"Yes, sir," Harry said and left the room.
Harry sprinted to the Potion's classroom just making it in before Snape closed the door. He quickly spotted Ron and Hermione and sat down. They both smiled at him obviously glad he was back. He had gone straight to Dumbledore once he had arrived. Minutes seemed like hours to Harry as Snape droned on and when they made the potion. Hermione had to stop him several times from putting the wrong ingredient in. Finally, the class ended and Harry was free to talk.
"What has everyone been saying?" he asked bluntly.
"Dumbledore said that you had caught a very violent bug that was only cured by going home," Hermione replied while rummaging in her bag.
"That's what he told everyone? Did they believe him?" he said confused. "That's not a very good explanation."
"He went into a very long explanation about how the bug reacts to people's bodies, so I think most everybody believed him because of that. But you're right. It does seem like Dumbledore would've come up with something more.
"What about the little people?" Harry asked making Hermione laugh.
"The little people, Harry? You sound like you're talking about elves," she said still laughing.
"Yes, the little people. It makes sense to me. They're little and their people. Did he give them the same explanation?"
Hermione nodded, still laughing. "They've been asking how you were. They had some interesting suggestion about what would make you better."
Harry smiled. "Like what?"
"Well like, sleeping with your favorite toy, drinking hot chocolate, being read to before going to bed, eating lots on lots of ice cream, they all agreed on that." Harry laughed. "I promised them I would tell you, and that you would give them your answer when you came back." She said the last quickly.
"I'm supposed to give them my answer? Why don't you?" Harry asked suspicious. Hermione was beginning to look guilty.
"Because I told them you would help on the first day you were back. I'm sorry, Harry, I just can't so know when they look at me like that. Tabitha said it was completely alright with her, and the kids love you. You'll come won't you?" she said hopeful.
Harry sighed. "I hadn't really wanted to go back yet..." Hermione's face fell. "But I guess I will."
"Really? You will?" Harry nodded reluctantly. "Thank you!" she said excitedly and hugged him. "I'm going to go tell them you said yes," she said and ran off.
"I thought she said she had already told them that you were coming?" Ron asked.
Harry shrugged. "That's Hermione for you. Do you think she realizes she'd be late for class if she did that?" Harry said as he and Ron entered the Transfiguration classroom.
"She'll get Tabitha to write her a note," Ron replied getting out parchment and quill.

The old wizard looked around his cell, looking for any means of escape, mind in turmoil.
How could this have happened? How could he have been captured?
He sighed and sat down, reaching out in his mind for the wards. Frustration built as he realized he couldn't bring them down, not in his weakened state. Another thought, more disturbing, came to mind.
Why was he alive?

She stepped out from behind the pillar, watching Harry and Ron's retreating backs. She liked to get her victims, or at least see them, before killing them.
"Enjoy your days while they last, Harry Potter, for you don't have many," she whispered, grinning maliciously.

Author notes: Author’s Note: Short, I know, but I want to write on my other story. And if the chapters are short, I update more often. I am out of school now, so updated will be quicker, though I can’t promise how often. There won’t be any the 20-27, I’ll be at camp, and the 13-17, camp again, and none the 17th or 18th. Also none on the 1st-3rd of July. My church youth group is going on a trip.
