As they walked into the Hogwart's entrance hall, Professor McGonagall (Harry had told Alexa all the teachers names and showed her photographs of each one) beckoned Harry, Hermione, Rowan, and Alexa toward her.

"Mr. Potter and Miss Granger, please step into my office," she said pointing. "Miss Rowan and Miss Alexa Renucci, please go over to Professor Dumbledore."

Alexa and Rowan followed her orders and walked over to the old wizard in purple velvet robes. He had a VERY long, white beard.

"Hello, Alexa. Hello, Rowan. Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am your Headmaster, Professor Albus Dumbledore. I sure hope you'll like it here, perhaps even more than Durmstrang," Dumbledore said. "As you can see, all of the students here are already dressed in their school robes, but since you came from Durmstrang, and they may have you dress later, I will make allowances." He reached over to Rowan's pocket and took out her wand. "I will charm your wand so it will shoot red sparks when I ask it to. Now, why don't the both of you change in Professor Flitwick's office over there and enter the Great Hall when the wand starts to shoot sparks."

"Okay, Professor Dumbledore, sir!" they replied in unison.

As Dumbledore headed off toward the Great Hall, Alexa and Rowan walked into Flitwick's office and locked the door. They dressed quickly, wanting to be finished before the sparks flew. Just as they had finished dressing, they started to hear cheering, meaning the Sorting had started, and sure enough, when the cheering stopped 10 minutes later, Rowan's wand began to shoot red sparks. The two of them unlocked the door and headed to the Great Hall.

As they walked through the doors, Dumbledore stood up. Alexa looked around the magnificent room, her eyes passing Harry, who was waving cheerfully, Alana Malfoy, who gave her a "good luck" smile, and Draco Malfoy, who was talking quietly to his two friends Crabbe and Goyle with a steely smile on his face. Alexa looked at him and couldn't help herself from smiling. She quickly looked away from him, though, when Dumbledore spoke.

"Everyone, I would like you all to welcome third years Alexa and Rowan Renucci. They have recently transferred from Durmstrang Institute and will most likely be staying here for the remainder of their schooling. Alexa and Rowan will be sorted into their houses now."

"Renucci, Alexa!" Professor McGonagall called, almost instantly after Dumbledore had stopped talking. Alexa walked up to her, and sat on the stool. The professor placed a ragged looking hat on her head. Alexa almost jumped when the hat spoke in her ear.

"Ahhhh! A newcomer from Durmstrang, and a Renucci, eh? Well, that usually says straight Slytherin, but you don't seem the Slytherin type. I also see bravery, honesty, loyalty to your true friends, and a love for life. Pure blood for as far back as you can trace...I think my best choice is to go with..."

"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat yelled for the whole hall to hear. Alexa looked around to see her new fellow Gryffindor students cheering wildly, and the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws clapping politely. Then she looked at the Slytherins, who were booing and hissing at her. She looked at them sadly.

"Don't mind them, Lexi!" Harry said cheerfully. "They don't like Gryffindors. They don't even know you! If you would have been sorted into Slytherin, we would be booing, and they would be cheering!" This brought Alexa mood back up to happy, but she couldn't dwell on this thought for long as her sister was about to be sorted.

"Renucci, Rowan!" Professor McGonagall called, and rolled up her scroll.

Rowan ran up to the stool and sat down. McGonagall placed the sorting hat on her head, and Rowan smiled as it began to whisper in her ear, too.

"Ahh...another Renucci. You are A LOT different than your sister. I can see feelings. Dark feelings of hatred, of pain, you cannot express. I know just the house that will allow you to express yourself. You are also brave and sly. Trickiest of the sorts. Besides all, you have a warm heart towards friends and family...but all the same, you definitely belong in..."

"SLYTHERIN!" the hat cried.

The Slytherin table erupted in loud cheers as Rowan ran toward their table. Alexa looked over at her sister, and felt a strong surge of jealousy toward her when she sat herself down next to Draco Malfoy, but Alexa felt much better when she saw that Draco was paying Rowan no attention what so ever. Instead he was flicking off the giant in the corner.

"That's really weird!" Harry cut in while Alexa was looking around. "You and Rowan are the second pair of twins that have been separated in the past three years, you know. But this is a lot different. The Patil twins were separated, but not into two VERY DIFFERENT house like you and YOUR sister. Hmmm..." Harry looked away muttering to himself and Ron.

Alexa had little time to ponder this, as the huge, empty golden plates that had stood before them, were now covered in piles of every food she could possibly dream.

Alexa, suddenly feeling quite ravenous, ate and ate, everything from chicken legs, to pot roasts, peas, corn, and steaks, to the puddings, pies, and cakes at dessert. Finally, when Alexa was full to bursting with the delicious food, and the remains disappeared, leaving the golden dishes as clean as they had been before they ate, Dumbledore stood again.

"As you have all probably noticed already, our school is hosting some of Azkaban's dementors to secure the castle from the madman Sirius Black. Because of Black's untimely escape, we have hosted these creatures as an extra precaution to make you all feel more comfortable and safe here at Hogwarts during this hard time. Now, could all the prefects or Head students please lead their houses to their dormitories? Good night!"

Head Boy Percy Weasley, Ron's 7th year brother, called out to all the Gryffindors to follow him up to the dormitories. "Hurry up! Come on, now! Keep up, please!" Percy yelled to all of them as they proceeded up to a tower. Alexa quickened her pace, and was almost at a run when Percy stopped in front of a portrait of a very fat lady in a pale pink dress.

"Password?" said the Fat Lady.

"Botter Charb!" Percy said proudly, and the portrait swung open to reveal a vast common room with a large fireplace and several squishy armchairs and couches.

"Boy's dormitories are up on the left, the girls, same on your right. You will see that all of your belongings have already been brought up. Good night!" Percy said quickly, and then ran up the stairs to the boy's dormitories without giving anyone else a second thought. Most of the other Gryffindor students followed Percy up the stairs, but Harry, Ron, Alana, and Alexa, along with a few others stayed in the Gryffindor common room.

"So, how do you like Hogwarts so far, Alexa?" asked Harry, but Alexa wasn't listening.

"Hey Alana," she started, "Your cousin, Draco...what's he like?"

"My cousin? He's a dirty Slytherin...his dad's really evil..."

"And he is too!" Ron cut in.

"No he's not, Ron! Shut up!" Alana scolded. "Draco's sweet, but sometimes he can be a little rude when he's acting on his father's commands. I would know...I live with him and his mom and dad. My parents were killed by You-know-who." Alana said, tears starting to drain out of her eyes.

Just then, a tall, fit, older boy walked over to Alana and started massaging her tense shoulders. "Hey, baby!" Alana said, trying to stop her tears. The boy walked over and sat beside Alana on the couch and cradled her in his arms for a few minutes as she cried softly on his shoulder. After a little while though, Alana looked up and her tears had almost stopped.

"Alexa? This is my boyfriend Oliver Wood. He is a Gryffindor 7th year. He is the captain and Keeper on the Gryffindor Quidditch team," she said, grinning. Alexa was glad Alana had someone who could comfort her as he had when she had to speak of her parents deaths. Alexa grinned at Oliver, who grinned back, and kissed her hand politely. "Quite the gentleman, too" Alana said, giving Oliver another kiss.

"I was about to get up to bed, but I thought I might sleep better if I got a good night kiss, Lani," Oliver said, lifting Alana into his lap. Alana gave him a long kiss, and when they finally broke apart, Alexa heard her whisper, "Goodnight, Oli," into his ear.

When Oliver had disappeared up to his dormitory, Harry suddenly diverted directly back onto the subject they were on before Wood had shown up.

"Why all this sudden interest in Malfoy, Alexa?" Harry asked suspiciously.

"Well...I...yes...well..."Alexa sputtered. A deep suspicious grin fell over Alana's face.

"You've fallen for my cousin, haven't you!" Alana said, still grinning from ear to ear.

"Well..." said Alexa again.

"Admit it, girl! You know you want him bad!"

"Okay, fine!" Alexa said, taking a deep breath. "I am madly in love with the boy. He looked so sexy on the train with his tidy blonde hair and perfect face, and when you told me he was sweet, you topped the cake!" Alana started laughing, but Alexa stood there, waiting for an explanation.

"The funny thing," Alana said in between giggles, "is that he is madly in love with you too..." When Alana finished what she was saying, she had stopped laughing, and her hand was placed over her mouth.

"What did you say?" Alexa asked.

"Nothing...nothing at all! Why would you think I said something?" Alana stuttered nervously. But Alexa had heard everything. She looked very excited and surprised.

"Merlin's beard!" she exclaimed. "The boy of my dreams thinks I am sexy, too! Oh my! Why didn't you tell me earlier, Alana?" Alexa was jumping around the room like this was the greatest moment of her life, but Alana wasn't paying attention to her.

"Oh, no! I'm done for! Draco's been lifting weights since the last time he beat me up!"

"Don't worry. He will never know unless he's told you let the cat out of the bag!" Alexa said, stopping her jumping abruptly.

"Don't underestimate him, Alexa!" Alana replied nervously. "That Draco is a sly dog! His father's taught him to be that way! He will find out for himself fairly quickly!" and with that, Alana ran up the stairs to her room, her face in her hands.

"I guess we should all go to bed," Harry said to the rest of them, diverting their attention from Alana's outburst. "It's getting late, and we don't want to be tired for our first 3rd year classes!"

As they all walked up the stairs, going their different directions, Alexa couldn't get Draco out of her excited mind. She would NEVER get to sleep that night.
