The Fox and the Hound

Chapter Two

"Okay, He does not love me. Okay? He wouldn't be able to. Would you? No you would not. Now, go find the rest of the Marauders. Okay? Okay," Lily said in a rush.

"Oh, come on Lils, be a sport about it," Arabella encouraged. "James, I think you should get Sirius, Remus, and Peter."

She turned away from him, while he didn't get a chance to put his say-so in.

"Lily, I was only teasing, like I always do, okay?"

"Okay, I guess."

"Good. Oh, by the way, could you pass the jam?"

Lily passed her the jam and James got up.

He walked down the corridor, wondering what Arabella had meant. He was so caught up in his thoughts, that he didn't notice where he was going. Or who he had bumped into. It happened to be Snape, along with his three goons, also known as The Three Stooges of Hogwarts. That name was first given to them by Sirius, and it caught on fast.

"Well, well, look who just bumped into us, The Dark Rebels", Lucius Malfoy said.

"Yeah, watch it Potter. We are the Slytherins. Woooooo!"

"Oh, wow, I am so scared. Hide me," James replied sarcastically. "Just let me know when you decide when to get a brain, all of you. Then, maybe you can actually put up a decent fight!"

He turned around and spotted Padfoot, Moony, and Wormtail.

"Oy, Jimmy-boy! Come on, the Great Hall is this way! Let's eat!" Sirius said excitedly.

James shook his head to himself. Some things just never changed. And that some thing just happened to be Sirius's appetite.

But, when you look at it, James is probably far worse then he is. He stayed hungry all the time. He never got, well, full wasn't in his vocabulary.

James rushed over to them, and told them what had happened.

"Aww, Jim, she just, well, I really don't know why she did that." Sirius got a thoughtful look on his face.

"That's scary, Padfoot is thinking," Remus said.

"Yeah, Nana. Why are you thinking?"

"Well Bambi, that was weird behavior, even from Lily, and Arabella just sat there and tried to calm her down? Something happened last night is all. We have got to find out what happened."

"Oh, boy, undercover work. Tell us, would we be able to, umm, wear disguises?" James asked in trepidation.

"Of course not, Prongs. What do you take us for? Idiots?"

"If the shoe fits, then wear it. Shut up, Nana. Now, when do we start?" James said.

Sirius and Remus went and got the things needed. James found where she was and the mission began......
