"Yep, he's related to James," stated Sirius, earning himself a glare from his best friend. Peter looked between them, trying to decide which side to take, but quickly stopped as too much thought was melting is infinitesimal speck of a brain. Remus superiorly rolled his eyes and turned back to the book.
"Shall I continue?" questioned Remus in a board tone. He gestured to the page with his hand.
"Yeah, all right," said James, still glaring openly at Sirius. Remus unnecessarily cleared his throat (In the whole hem hem Umbridge-ish style that will haunt James' son's nightmares forever. But that's not important right now...) and started up again.
"
For one thing, he hated the summer holidays more than any other time of year. For another, he really wanted to do his homework, but was forced to do it in the middle of the night.""NOOOOO!!!" cried James (in a very good Harry Potter caps imitation). "I CAN NOT BE RELATED TO THIS...THIS MONSTER!"
"Potter, there is nothing wrong with doing homework," came a brisk voice from the doorway.
James, Sirius, Remus and Peter all flew across the room, landing behind a very large pile of clothing.
"No Professor, we aren't breaking any rules," piped Sirius.
"Nor are we doing anything illegal," stated Remus from behind the cover of the robes, socks and other articles of clothing.
"Especially not reading a more-than-likely highly illegal book from the possible future" squeaked Peter.
"WORMTAIL," yelled the other three boys.
"Oh shut up you three," said an extremely amused Lily Evans as she bended down to retrieve the fallen novel. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban...?" she mumbled under he breath. Lily held the book up. "What, Potter, is this?" she asked dangerously.
"A book," breathed James, in what he considered to be an intelligent answer.
Lily rolled her eyes. "Really."
"We were reading it together," stated Remus, stepping out from behind the wall. The others followed. They cowered as Lily flipped through the pages. She stopped on the one just inside the cover; turned very pale and announced "This book is from the future. It was published in 1999! "
"We already told you that," replied Sirius.
"Do you want to read it with us?" asked James hopefully.
Lily looked reproachful.
"Well...all right, I guess I could join you. But if Professor McGonagall finds out, I knew NOTHING about this book." She sighed and sat down on the nearest bed, which happened to be James'. (Fate eh?)
She opened the book. "Where were you guys?" she asked.
"At the beginning, Remus had just read something about having to do 'homework in the middle of the night' before you walked in," said Peter.
"Okay, do you mind if I read Remus?" she asked the light-haired boy in a tone that said "you had better not mind...".
"Err...no, go right ahead," muttered Remus as he sat down across from her, next to Sirius, and James. Peter sat in his rightful place; the floor.
"And he also happened to be a wizard."
