Karaoke Fever

Dumbledore paced his office. His plan had gone perfectly. All the students were psyched to perform their karaoke songs. Hagrid, with the assistance of Argus Filch, was setting up a gigantic purple-and-pink karaoke stage in an empty corner of the Great Hall.

He had talked most of the teachers into singing some songs of their own. Professor Trelawney was one of those set to perform.

Dumbledore had also recruited several Hogwarts alumni, including Oliver Wood, Percy Weasley, Remus Lupin, and Molly Weasley, as a board of judges. Fleur Delacour was also scheduled to be a judge, though she had gone to Beauxbatons. She supposedly needed to improve her English, and was accepted as a judge because of her stint in the Triwizard Tournament.. Lee Jordan and Ludo Bagman were slated as co-emcees.

Everything was going exactly to plan. Except for one tiny little detail that Dumbledore had forgotten.

He had no idea of what song to sing.

There were so many choices...so many cheesy pop tunes that made his head spin. He stalked towards one of his closets, and yanked out his bulky Muggle radio. Dumbledore roughly pushed batteries into the back of the radio, and awkwardly tried to turn it on.

He listened to song after song after song...but still could not find the perfect one for him to sing. Sure, they were mostly all cheesy, but none seemed right.

He listened to his radio far into the night, into the next morning. The perfect song was still yet to be found.

"Oh Fawkes...what am I to do?" Dumbledore said.

Fawkes shook his head, and shrugged.

Dumbledore finally considered giving up around noontime. He would just sing a Christina Aguilera song and be done with it. He stood up, and sluggishly walked over to the radio, raising his hand to turn the off dial.

All of a sudden, he heard the perfect song for him to perform. It had finally come.

After days and days of searching...there it was.

Called you on the phone

We could stay at home, or dance and hand all night

It doesn't matter what we do.

"Eureka! Fawkes...I've found it!" Dumbledore shouted enthusiastically.

The ever-present phoenix shook its head in disgust. Who would have thought that he had to end up with a master who had a fetish for karaoke? Anyways, he thought that the remix of the song was better.

Dumbledore jumped up in down for the sheer joy of finding this song. He threw his hands in the air out of happiness. He was going to be the best karaoke performer that Hogwarts had ever seen. Just in case, he wrote down the name of the song and the person who sung it.

He regained his composure, straightened his clothing, and headed to the Great Hall for breakfast.

He would win the Faculty Karaoke Tournament for sure.

Or so he thought.
