Thicker Than Water: Year Six

As Harry Potter tries to come to terms with the events of his fifth year at Hogwarts, Voldemort's first assault rocks his world. Entering his sixth year from the other side of death, Harry must conceal his identity, even from the ones he loves. Valuable lessons are learnt about the nature of relationships and the absolute power of friendships. Will that power be enough to defeat Voldemort? Hermione uses her contact at the Daily Prophet to get the ball rolling on what turns into a major shake-up at the Ministry of Magic. An unanswered riddle leaves Bill feeling apprehensive. Harry and Remus go jewellery shopping, and Harry delves into romance, backed up by a ghostly quartet.

Christmas in Ireland: Harry finds our about the history of the veil at the Minstry of Magic; Mundungus sells his wares in Diagon Alley; Christmas with Remus' family is marred by a fight, with a happy ending.

New Years at the Weasleys is full of family, fun, and some underage drinking. The evening is marred by a series of Death Eater attacks meant to rattle the Wizarding community. Harry pulls a fast one using Fred's new dragon-hide boot.

Dumbledore offers Harry hope with the possibility of renewing his blood protection. A visit to Diagon Alley ends with Kingsley hitting on Tonks (again); Malfoy's behaviour puts Harry on guard; and Luna reveals an unusual magic at the core of her wand. Mirror, Mirror, in the hall / Who's the farthest of them all? Luna creates a portal, through which Harry gets a devastating look at the other side. A violent duel with a close friend lands Harry in trouble.

Valentine's Day brings renewal, life, and love. Harry receives a special protection from his friends and family, and witnesses a miracle of life.

Harry rides the waves as his new protection causes energy surges; Bill gives Harry the man-to-man talk; and Malfoy has a covert meeting with a family member...

Easter break: the girls learn a shrinking charm; Moody shows us a new use for Invisibility Cloaks; Harry sees an unexpected face while on vacation; and Peeves joins in a good snog.

Remus is injured in a botched offensive at Azkaban; Harry confronts Snape; Hermione completes the potion that will ultimately reveal Harry to Voldemort.

Remus tells Harry of Ministry dissatisfaction with Diggory; Malfoy assaults Ginny, and Ginny gets her revenge; the Centaurs depart the forest for a new realm.

Harry and Ron catch a band of Slytherins en route to Death Eater initiation; Ron and Harry are intercepted by a ferocious cat; Ginny is taken by Malfor jr; Dumbledore lies ill in the hospital wing.

In the final reckoning, Harry faces Voldemort armed with an invisibility cloak and a mirror. Will his friends' support be sufficient for the encounter? Could Neville be the prophecy's intended wonder-child?

The long-awaited conclusion to this pre-HBP fic: Harry returns to the land of the living, having shed his Leo-persona and disguise. Traumatized by his latest encounter with Voldemort, Harry must find new hope for the future.
