A Gryffindor Halloween

A GRYFFFINDOR HALLOWEEN

Chapter 1

One day, about a week from Halloween, a sign was found on the bulletin board inside the Gryffindor common room. When the 'trio' awoke, there was already a queue to see the sign.

"Jee, Harry, can't we wait till' everyone is gone?" said Ron with a loud yawn.

"We could, but, Ron, come on, this is so exciting!!" squealed Hermione, not minding her own business.

"I asked Harry, Hermie Wormie..." said Ron.

"Hmph!" said Hermione haughtily. "And my name is NOT Hermie Wormie!"

"I was only joking!"

It seemed that Hermione and Ron were getting into another 'fight', so Harry was the only one who noticed that they were able to see the sign now.

Harry stepped up to the board and read the sign. It said:

ATTENTION:

There will be a Halloween costume contest on Halloween night. The student with the best costume will win a secret prize donated by Weasley's Wizard Wheezes Joke Shop. To sign up for the contest, please sign your name on the sheet below.

"Ron, Hermione!" Harry yelled over their little quarrel.

They didn't seem to hear him, so Harry yelled louder.

"RON, HERMIONE!" Harry yelled again.

"What?!?!" they both screamed, louder than Harry.

They all started to giggle.

"Read the sign! I am gonna sign up, you should, too."

Ron and Hermione read the sign and decided to sign up, too.

"This is going to so much FUN!" Hermione said as they headed down to breakfast.

Chapter 2

The day had come when there would be an extra 2 hour study hall in order to prepare for the contest tomorrow. Everyone had gathered in the common room and many had already started to make their costumes. Neville was seen making a scientist costume, Ginny a 'Dorothy' costume, and Colin (no surprise here) a Harry costume. Harry, Ron and Hermione were in a corner, making their costumes too. Harry had planned to wear an owl costume, Hermione a cat costume, and Ron, unfortunately, only could find material to make a rabbit costume. He wasn't too happy about this!

"This is more fun than I thought!" Hermione said as she added the last touches to her costume.

"Way more fun!" Harry added, as he put his last, white feather on his costume.

"That is if you call being dressed up in a rabbit suit is fun.." Ron groaned as he came down from the boys dorm. Hermione had forced him to change into his costume.

"Aww, you look so cute!" Hermione giggled.

"UgH..." Ron groaned again.

Tomorrow was the contest and Ron was now having second thoughts... He decided to go to Professor McGonagall and tell her that he didn't want to be in the contest any more.

"Mr. Weasley, you can't back up on this now, the contest is tomorrow and you've already made your costume."

So, Ron, very displeased, walked back up to the common room so he could prepare a little more.

"Ron has really got to get more into the spirit!" Harry said to Hermione, who, no doubt, agreed.

As Harry said this, Ron walked into the common room, slamming the portrait behind him.

"---- Professor McGonagall!"

"Why can't I drop out of the contest?!"

"Maybe because you said you were going to do it..." Hermione said, trying to sustain a giggle.

"Would you shut up?" Ron said, giving Hermione a death-glare.

Harry knew that it was going to be a LONG night...
