Harry Potter and the Secrets of Dumbledore

Chapter 23

Two Words

Three days after being dramatically whisked away from the Hillside in a blinding light, the Potters were quietly returned home. Although it was about four in the morning, the brothers wasted no time heading straight to Harry's bedroom and grabbing the crystal paperweight.

"Good morning, Harry...Harold. I had a feeling you would be calling immediately upon your return." Dumbledore gazed at his successor and his twin with an expression of satisfaction, punctuated by his twinkling eyes. "I take it you are both fully recovered?"

"We're fine, thank you, though still a bit confused," Harry replied. "I thought that, except the warning for the innocents, The Four were not going to be involved any farther. Why did they take us into their realm and cure us?"

"They did not interfere in the battle or in the final outcome. Once Harold had sacrificed so much to save you - it was finished. You both would have recovered, though it would have taken a considerably longer period of time. Bringing the two of you and Poppy to their realm only sped up the process. Poppy performed her job in the same manner as she would have in the hospital wing. The only difference was the time involved. Her work was completed within a day and she was returned to the castle with strict instructions never to reveal anything she saw or experienced in the other realm. You two were kept for two more days to allow you the luxury of pure and complete rest like you could never experience in your current domain. That, along with a few minor enhancements that were made to you, both physically and magically."

Harold inquired, "Just what were these - enhancements, sir?"

"Ah, those will become apparent as time goes on."

"More secrets Albus?" sighed Harry

"As I reminded you not too long ago; our relationship just wouldn't be the same without my having some secrets about you!"

"You know something Albus? I'm not even going to ask, or worry about whatever it might be. I suppose we'll either figure it out or it will be revealed when the time is right. I've had enough for awhile and think I'll just enjoy a normal life for the time being."

"And just what is a normal life for - 'The Boy Who Lived'?"

Having no answer to that question, Harry just stared at his predecessor with a puzzled expression. Finally he said, "Don't get me wrong, but the battle seemed so short...almost anti-climactic after all this time. I mean - I wish it hadn't happened at all, but I was expecting it to be so much more."

Thoughtfully, Dumbledore explained. "Benedict had a one track mind and rarely, if ever, considered any additional possibilities that you might have used to your advantage. I am certain that the use of any muggle means never occurred to him. He was also positive that your aunt's maternal instinct would take over and her previous dislike for you would return. Thus depending upon her to turn to his side. Once their leaders had been destroyed, his followers were at an immediate loss as to what they should do. Hence allowing the auror's and Order members to end the battle quickly."

Raising a concern, Harold asked, "How is Aunt Petunia? The last thing I remember before I tried to help Harry was her crying over what she had just done to Dudley."

A solemn facade overcame Dumbledore. "Your aunt did what she had to do. Had she not taken the action she did; she, nor either of you would have survived. We all have a dark side within us. For the most part, it is something that only shows up only in the slightest form in moments of severe anger. The darkness within is a very powerful force. If not kept in check, it doesn't take a great deal to unleash the evil within. Benedict had opened the darkness within your cousin so quickly and completely - that he was beyond hope. The combination of evil mixed with magic is an extremely powerful energy. It is what happened to Tom Riddle as he became Lord Voldemort. Benedict was brought up by evil and had no chance from the beginning. He knew of nothing else. Dudley had already opened the door to his darkness when he turned to a life of crime. Once Benedict came along and released his magic, it was all too much too fast. Dudley was completely engulfed by the evilness and never stood a chance of redeeming himself. With Benedict's death, Dudley could easily have turned into a new Voldemort."

"But..."

"Please, Harry, allow me to continue. Petunia immediately recognized that the person torturing Harry, threatening you, and herself was not her son. Having experienced the dark side before the two of you were even born, she was well aware of that power, and the extremely horrific results. She knew that the son she had raised, though far from perfect, was never returning. Add to that the deep love she has developed for the two of you, and she did what she knew she had to do. Besides saving the three of you she probably saved hundreds of lives that would have been snuffed out once Dudley had picked up where Voldemort and then Benedict had left off. While you were both unconscious, your parents gave her the gifts of peace, love, understanding, and gratitude. Those gifts have given and shall continue to give her everything she needs to go on with her life - guilt free. She has also severed the last of her ties with the muggle world, and is content with the idea of spending the rest of her life in the magical world."

"Still, I can't help but worry about her," Harry said.

Dumbledore continued, "As for you, Harold, you must realize that you did not just try to help Harry. The combination of your muggle 'magic' and the purely unselfish act of sharing your own life forces with your brother are what saved him. Further, I must commend you on a stroke of genius in using a muggle weapon to destroy Benedict. I am positive he never considered that possibility."

"Thanks, but I think I just got lucky. I was hoping he had not considered the possibility of a gun."

"What ever made you think of a gun in the first place?" Harry asked.

"You did."

"I did? When did I do that?"

"Last January, when the President and Prime Minister were at the Hillside. You mentioned that wizards could be killed with guns, knives, etc., just like muggles. For some reason, I made a mental note of it, and then remembered it when the bastard attacked."

"Anyway, I think it was bloody brilliant! As long as we're on the subject, I should thank you for saving my life. You took a hell of a chance trying that. I don't know how I can ever repay you."

"Don't get too carried away with your gratitude just yet. With all due respect to the Professor, it wasn't exactly the totally unselfish act that he has portrayed it to be. In fact, truth be told, it was pretty damn selfish. After having no family for all those years, I wasn't about to suddenly get a brother and then lose him after only a few weeks!"

"Well, whatever the reason - I thank you anyway. If there is anything I can ever do for you..."

"You already have, Harry."

Feeling this was starting to get a bit personal, Harry said, "Albus, if you'll excuse us, I think we should be getting home. Aunt Petunia should be getting up soon and I think we need to talk with her."

Dumbledore smiled and said, "Quite understandable."

*******

As they made breakfast, the aroma of coffee wafted throughout the house, inviting their aunt to join them. As she entered the dining room, she found her nephews leaning against the wall waiting for her. The three embraced as Aunt Petunia said, "It's good to have you back. Are you alright?"

"We're fine," Harry said as he held the chair for her. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing okay. Actually, much better than I ever would have imagined. I have your parents to thank for that."

"Aunt Petunia, I don't know what to say about Dudley. I'm sure it was..."

She held up a hand to silence him and said, "Listen to me - both of you. I did what I had to do. Granted, Dudley was never the person my bias saw my only child to be, but whatever attacked you last Saturday and threatened your brother and me, was not my son. The blankness of his eyes, the joy at what he was doing to you, and the determination in his voice when he made it clear that he intended to wipe out what was left of our family, made me realize what I had to do." Looking down, she paused to sip some coffee. She looked up into Harry's eyes and continued in a very deliberate tone, "I was the second person you spoke about months ago when you first told me about Dudley's transformation - correct?"

His eyes filling with compassion, Harry said, "Yes, you were the only one other than Benedict. I couldn't tell you then, because if you had had all this time to think about it, you might have rationalized it in a different manner. It was too important to the welfare of the world. I'm sorry, I just..."

"Harry - enough. I understand what you are both feeling and what you are trying to say, and I appreciate it more than you may realize. But what is done is done. I will have to grieve in my own time and in my own way. I will not wander the house, the school, or anyplace else in a depressed state. It is a private affair that I will deal with it in my own way, in my own time, and only when I'm alone."

Silence reigned over the rest of breakfast, finally being broken when Harry said, "I think I'll ask Toni to come over for awhile, I don't think she has a class this morning."

Harold said, "If I remember correctly, I've got a hell of a mess to clean up in my room. Then I should go to headquarters and see Remus."

"I have an appointment with Ginny regarding some of the plans for the wedding," Petunia added. "One of these days soon, we have to talk about what I've been planning. I don't mind the planning and all, but I would like to make sure that the two of you approve of the plans I'm making."

Contemplatively, in a soft voice, Harry said, "And life goes on."

*******

"As long as humans have free will, there will always exist both good and evil," Harry stated in his speech of appreciation to the members of the Order. "The world owes each of you a debt of gratitude, though the vast majority haven't the slightest clue that we even exist. Hopefully it is enough that you know what your involvement has meant and that the world is a safer place because of it. At this time I'd like to ask for a moment of silent reflection and personal thanks for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against this latest upsurge of evil." Silence gripped Grimmauld Place as the members allowed their personal memories of fallen friends and co-members to fill their hearts and minds. A few moments later, Harry broke the stillness, "I hope you will find it in your hearts to stay in contact with the families of those who are gone and offer any assistance and friendship possible in the years to come."

Gazing around the room at this amazing group of people, Harry continued, "The Order has had an interesting history. It has been called together twice before and then disbanded once the emergency had passed. We will not disband it this go around. During this hopefully long period of peace, we will have meetings once every other month. Mr. 'constant vigilance', Mad-Eye Moody, will return to his own home in semi-retirement. He has agreed to be an advisor whenever we may need him. Remus Lupin will stay on at Grimmauld Place to run the Order and keep track of events around the world. Further, in conjunction with an assistant or two, we plan to open satellite offices in select areas around the world. The idea, and hope, behind this will be to minimize any person or group that may want to pick up where Benedict left off."

"I would also like to thank Neville Longbottom, and all those who assisted him in the Las Vegas recovery program. After giving the locals a great deal of assistance in the cleanup, and getting them started on the course of rebuilding, we have left Las Vegas to the muggles. With their imagination and determination, the place should be back to its... er...'glory' in no time. It will be interesting to see what they do with it this time around."

"Now, please enjoy the refreshments and the well deserved celebration in our victory over Benedict and his Death Eaters! After that - go home and enjoy life!"

*******

The following morning, Harry and Hermione paid a visit to the Prime Minister and gave him a full report on the situation. They all agreed on a closer working relationship in the future, with the hope of eventually bringing the two worlds closer together.

*******

Later that afternoon, Harry and Harold appeared in the office of the American Minister of Magic. While Olaf Johannessen quietly listened to their story with great interest, Harry noticed occasional facial expressions that reminded him of Dumbledore.

Harold looked at the aging wizard and said, "Minister, I don't know how to thank you for watching over me for all those years and helping me out of some the tighter situations in my work."

"Please - think nothing of it. Seeing you and your brother finally reunited after all these years is all the thanks I need. I just wish that none of it had been necessary in the first place."

The Potters watched with curiosity as Olaf tapped a tiny replica of the White House, which sat on the corner of his desk, with his finger. Settling back in his chair, he said, "Now we wait."

"Wait for what, Minister?" Harold inquired.

"For the Presidents' response. He has a small replica of this building surrounded by a semi-circle of trees on his desk. When I tap my replica, a tiny light goes on in the house, letting him know I am planning on paying him a visit. He casually touches a tree, which sends a message back. Ah, there it is!" Suddenly, the number '10' appeared over the small house. "We can apparate in ten minutes."

"What happens if he isn't there when you send a message?"

"The letter 'X' will appear over the house."

Light conversation continued as they watched the numbers countdown.

Once in the Oval Office, Harry shared the same information with the president as he had a few hours earlier with the prime minister. The same agreement was reached regarding a closer working relationship and the hope of bringing the two worlds closer together.

Harold said, "Mr. President, I regret to inform you that I am resigning from my post with the American Government, effective immediately."

"I assume, though it is rather apparent, that your transformation into a wizard has been successful and you have decided to stay in the magical world?"

"Yes sir, though transformation isn't quite the correct word for it. You see, like my brother, I was born a wizard. It's a long, involved story. Suffice it to say, that my natural abilities have been released to their full potential. I love the magical world and know that that is where I belong. In the fall, I will begin accelerated auror training. It is basically what I've been doing for the government all these years, only with magic."

"I have become familiar with aurors over the past several months. I hate to sound cliché, but our loss will be the magical world's gain. I have a feeling that you will be working with us in some sort of joint operation sometime in the future." The President shook Harold's hand saying, "Thank you for all the years of service to the country and the world. You are one of the best. I wish you every happiness in your new, magical life."

"Thank you, Mr. President."

*******

As promised at their first joint news conference, Harry and Harold held another in which the entire story of their separation and ultimate reunion was revealed. The Potters' intent in sharing the story had simply been to fully explain what had happened and why; in order to squelch any possible exaggerated or twisted stories about the circumstances. The reaction from the wizarding world around the globe threw the brothers for a loop. Almost immediately there was a worldwide attempt to proclaim October thirty first as an international holiday in honor of James, Lily, and their sons. As politely as possible, but equally as firm, the brothers rejected the idea, and asked that it be dropped. After much discussion, and with a great deal of reluctance, their wish was eventually granted.

*******

With wedding plans in high gear and the school year drawing to a close, everyone was being pulled in several directions at once, and time was a precious commodity. On the first Saturday in June - Harry, Antonia, Harold, Sophia, and Evan joined the Trandems at the Johnson's for a bar-be-cue.

It was the kind of day that brings out the absolute best in Minnesota. The sun's rays danced across the surface of the lake, while the trees reached to touch the deep blue sky. The sounds of muffled conversations and laughter could be heard in the distance, as dozens of the local residents had the same idea as the Johnsons, and had invited family and friends to spend the day together. Colorful sails caught the light breeze, silently propelling boats and windsurfers around the lake. Closer to shore, children were jumping off docks and splashing around in the water.

Harry was lying in a lounge chair on the deck, drinking his beer and enjoying the simple sights and sounds of life around him when Antonia decided to snuggle up to him. He moved to the side and put his arm around her as she joined him. She kissed his chest and then lay her head on the same spot. "It is so incredibly beautiful and relaxing here. It's almost like a dream."

"Yeah, this is a part of life that we all seem to forget about too often. Somehow we rarely take the time to stop, enjoy, and appreciate this sort of thing."

"Thanks to you, Enrico, the world is a little more free to enjoy all this again."

"No, Toni. It's thanks to a great many people, especially to those who were hurt or killed. If you must single out anybody, I suggest Harold and Aunt Petunia. They were the ones who ultimately took care of the two most dangerous threats. If memory serves, I was more than a little out of it by the time all that took place. Anyway, I've been down that road before, which sent me traveling the world over for some peace and quiet. Of course, the best thing to come out of all that traveling, was finding you." She looked up, then closed her eyes as he bent down, and began to kiss her deeply.

"Alright you two - break it up. There will be plenty of time for that later," Harold said smiling. "Anyway, the ladies have requested your presence, Antonia. More wedding stuff, I suppose." She gave Harry a last, quick kiss and headed into the house. Watching Harry watch her leave, Harold said, "Don't worry, it's only six more weeks."

"Yeah, a long, six weeks."

"Come on, let's go for a walk. I have something to show you." They followed the shoreline until they came to the Lakeside.

"How did you manage to get this finished so fast?" Harry asked in astonishment.

"It's amazing what can be accomplished with a few words from a grateful president!" They got as far as the front door when Harold said, "Damn, I forgot to bring the key. Would you mind?"

"Since when do you need a key?"

"Since all I'm wearing is swim trunks and there really isn't anyplace to put a wand. And since we mere peon wizards need that stick to perform magic, it kinda leaves it up to super wizard."

Harry just rolled his eyes. With a tiny movement of his finger, the door unlocked and opened wide. They walked in and started looking around. "Harold, this is fantastic!" The dramatic wall of glass, which framed the view of the lake from the great room, instantly commanded one's attention. Hallways in opposite directions led to identical master suites and guest rooms. Taking in the landscape, Harry noticed the deck was set down, away from the house a bit, and was reached by taking one of three wooden walkways. There was one walk from the door in the center of the glass wall and two others which arched toward the deck from the master bedrooms on opposite sides of the dwelling. "I give you fair warning, I plan to spend a lot of time here."

"Well, so do I. Hence the inspiration for the design of the place." Harold paused before going on. "The girls are going straight to Rome from the Johnson's, so I thought we'd spend the night here. We can just hang out for awhile tomorrow before going home."

"Works for me!"

They returned to the Johnsons' just as the brats were being put on the grill. Everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves, the group, and the deep orange sunset, when Harry suddenly slapped the back of his neck.

"Ah, I see the invasion has started," Dennis said.

"Invasion?"

"Mosquito's. Some people around here call them the state bird. Living in the land of lakes has its little drawbacks."

Harry looked around and said, "Someone tell me you're joking. I'm surrounded by how many witches and wizards, and none of you has a clue as to how to handle the damn things?" He waved his arm and said, "Okay, that's taken care of. Now would someone please get me another beer?"

Inevitably, the conversation had turned to the weddings. "Have you thought about a best man yet Harry?" Antonia asked.

"There was never a question about that, it will be Ron of course! I asked him ages ago."

"Only one for both weddings?"

Looking a bit confused, Harry said, "Well, yeah. Why?"

Antonia went on to explain. "Well, since Hermione is performing the ceremony at Hogwarts, I've asked her to be my matron of honor in Rome, while our cousin Cara will be my maid of honor in Britain. Sophia has asked our cousin, Paola, to her maid of honor in Britain, and her friend, Michele, to do the honors in Italy. And Harold has asked Evan to be his best man at Hogwarts, and Steve will stand with him in Rome."

"You three do as you please, I'll stick with Ron for both ceremonies, thank you."

"We're also having a little problem with the ring bearers. We were thinking about asking the triplets, But there are three of them."

"Yeah, hence the word - triplets. Anyway, aren't they a little old for that sort of thing?"

"There's no rule that they have to be only four or five years old. But, if we keep the rings in pairs, one of them will be left out, and if two take one ring each, leaving the third to take two rings, they'll argue over who gets to take the two."

Harry just shook his head. "That's easy enough to remedy." He searched the deck until his eyes fell on his first, young Minnesota friend. "Sean, would you like to be a ring bearer in our weddings?"

"Really? Cool!"

"Thanks, we appreciate it." Turning his attention back to Antonia and Sophia, he said, "And to avoid the inevitable argument between the triplets over who gets to carry Uncle Harry's ring...that will be Sean. Any other problems?"

They simply stared at Harry, rolling their eyes.

"What?"

Changing the subject, Steve said, "Harold, I got your email the other day. I'm curious as to your address of 'the-spare-in-hiding'?"

Harold glanced at Harry and said with a smile, "Inside joke. By the way, we set up one for Harry too - his address is 'new-hedwig'."

*******

The following Saturday, the brothers found themselves dragged to Milan where Antonia and Sophia's uncle was going to design and make the robes for the wedding at Hogwarts, along with the gowns and tuxedos for the wedding in Rome. After taking all the appropriate measurements and a short discussion about materials and colors, Sophia suggested the guys find someplace to go as their gowns and robes were not to be seen or even discussed with the grooms before the weddings. Before leaving, Harry took Uncle Giovanni aside with one request regarding Antonia's gown.

"We have some shopping to do in Minneapolis," Harold said. "So, we'll see you two at the Hillside tomorrow evening?" The ladies nodded and kissed the brothers goodbye.

*******

A moment later, Harry and Harold were in the jewelry store where Harry had purchased Antonia's engagement ring. The matching wedding rings were sized and ready. At the same time he picked up the diamond necklace and earrings that matched Antonia's engagement ring.

Two blocks away they stopped at the jewelry store where Harold had found Sophia's ring and picked up their wedding rings. He originally had the same idea that Harry had of a necklace and earrings, but decided that even though his rings were yellow gold and Harry's were white gold, this double everything, thing was getting a little out of hand. He took his time and considered many items - finally deciding on a ruby bracelet and matching earrings.

Their shopping completed, they headed to the atrium of the IDS tower for something to eat. Ironically, they ended up at the same table where they first met.

"Do you realize that it was less than a year ago, at this very table, that we met for the first time?" Harry asked.

Harold looked around the atrium and said, "Considering everything that has happened since that day, it feels like a hell of a lot longer than that."

Among other things, honeymoon plans were discussed, which, as it turned out, were as different as day and night. It was also agreed that they wouldn't share the plans with anyone - including the brides.

Finishing their meal and a couple of drinks, Harry said, "Come on, I know a place where we can apparate out of here."

Harold grinned and sarcastically asked, "Gee, how did you ever find this hallway?"

They spent the night and a good portion of the next morning at the Lakeside before apparating back to the Hillside.

*******

End of term exams once again raided the minds and nerves of the students at Hogwarts. A student walking down the hallway, who had his nose deep in a book, rounded a corner and slammed straight into Harry. The student went pale as he saw who he had bumped into. "I...I'm sorry Headmaster. I guess I should have been watching where I was going."

"It would help in avoiding this kind of situation." Trying not to laugh, Harry continued with as straight a face as he could muster. "I suggest you leave the studying to the library, the common room, or even sitting under a tree."

Still in awe of who he had bumped into, The first year answered in a shaky voice, "Yes sir, I'll try to remember that. It's just that all the tests..."

Harry smiled and put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Try to look at it in a different way, Mr. O'Connor." The boy stared at him as if he were nutters or something. "Let me ask you something. Do you know more about magic now than you did when you first arrived last fall? More spells, more potions, more history, and more astronomy? Can you fly better than when you first arrived?"

"Yes sir."

"Well, instead of looking at the exams as 'them' trying to test you on what you've learned; turn it around. Simply show 'them' what you now know."

The boy thought about this for a moment, smiled, and said, "Yes sir. Very good, sir."

"Alright then, good luck to you Mr. O'Connor. Now off you go."

*******

A few nights later, Harold was showing Harry different web sights on the computer when Aunt Petunia entered the room. "Harry, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Did you know that Shinotqua wants me to be her assistant next year?"

"Of course, I approved her request. Part of the time she will be assisting Ron with muggle/wizard relations, and will not be always be available to teach her class. She decided, and I agreed, that you would be perfect for the job. After all, you are a witch who spent more than a few years living as a muggle. Neither of us could come up with a better candidate."

"But I've never taught anything before."

"Don't worry, you'll do just fine. Anyway, you have all summer to work with her and get accustomed to the idea."

Not sounding totally convinced, Petunia said, "Well...if you say so."

Turning from his aunt to his brother, Harry said, "By the way, I assume the two of you will be attending the Leaving Feast on Wednesday night?"

*******

Books closed, parchments graded, and trunks packed; the school year had finally come to an end and the Leaving Feast was well under way. As everyone finished dessert, Minerva tapped her goblet with her spoon, "Your attention, please!"

The hall silenced as Harry rose. "Another year has come to an end. I feel I must apologize to all of you. Due to my...shall we say, extra-curricular activities, I feel that I haven't been as good a headmaster as I should have been. I promise to try to do a better job next year."

Harry was astonished when he was abruptly interrupted by a standing ovation by both students and faculty alike. He glanced over at Harold and Aunt Petunia who had joined with everyone else. He noticed that Aunt Petunia had perched one of Dumbledore's chocolate frog cards against her goblet, and even Albus was applauding.

Holding his arms up in an attempt to restore order, Harry just kept shaking his head. Once silence was restored, he continued, "Thank you, but I can not, and will not, be singled out for the victory so many people worked and sacrificed so long and hard to secure. Always remember, no matter what you are involved in throughout your life, no matter how powerful you may be, or what position may hold - almost always, success is a group effort."

"Now back to the matter at hand. I am honored to be able to make an announcement that my predecessor was never able to make." With a wave of his hand, the banners in the Great Hall changed to yellow and black. "This year...Hufflepuff wins the house cup!" After a moment of stunned silence, the hall erupted in hoots, hollers, and cheers. Even the Slytherin table couldn't resist joining in!

*******

Harry returned to the castle early the next morning to continue his tradition of personally wishing each student a pleasant summer holiday as they headed to the carriages that would carry them to the train station.

Once the last of the carriages had departed, Antonia joined him. Hand in hand they leisurely walked to the Hillside. Instead of going into the house, they journeyed to the other side of the hill to check on the progress of the 'Hillside 2', as it had been dubbed.

Although Harold had built the Lakeside in the fashion of an English cottage, Hillside Two was another story. It was a contemporary, semi-circular structure, with lots of glass to take full advantage of the panorama. The interior kept the contemporary feel, though not cold or impersonal at all. "So what do you think?" asked Harold walking up behind them.

"It's great, I really like it," Harry answered.

"I can see a lot of Sophia's influence in the decorating," Antonia commented.

"Well, I thought it would be a good idea, since she's going to be living here too! In fact, she'll be tending to a lot of the details once she arrives tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?" Harry asked in surprise.

"I guess I forgot to tell you about that," Antonia replied sheepishly. "School ended for her two weeks ago and she has been packing and saying her good byes and all that. I'm going to stay here with her until the weddings, since it will be easier to come and go and take care of all the details being in the same place."

"Speaking of details, you really haven't told us much about the wedding in Rome."

"Well, we've all been so busy lately...and the two of you said you trusted us..."

"That's all well and good, but don't you think it's about time you filled us in? For all I know, you've arranged to have the Pope marry us!"

In a casual voice, she replied, "Unfortunately, he'll be in Sydney at the World Youth Conference that weekend. But he does hope to meet you someday."

Shocked, the brothers blurted out, "WHAT?" Harry continued on, "Are you telling us that the Pope knows about our world?"

Momentarily closing her eyes and shaking her head, Antonia said, "Enrico, sometimes I wonder about you. The hierarchies of all the major religions of the world have known about our world for centuries. They are well aware that we have nothing to do with the occult, devil worship, or anything else of the kind. They simply look at magic as a special gift; similar to exceptional musical, medical, or scientific abilities." She paused for a moment and studied the two astonished faces. "I know you've never really practiced any religion, but you two were christened into the Anglican faith before you were separated. Obviously it was important enough to your parents that, that be attended to in the middle of all the chaos and emotions of that day."

Antonia let that sink in while she went onto the kitchen. Returning with three glasses of lemonade, she said, "Now where was I? Oh yes, the wedding will be in the early evening. That way we can all get some rest after the wedding and reception here. A candlelight ceremony and reception. It should be quite lovely.

"After that?" Harry asked.

She walked over, sat on his lap, put her arms around him, and said, "After that I expect you to whisk me away to a place where we won't know that the rest of the world even exists. Someplace where we can..." She leaned down and started kissing him passionately.

Walking toward the door, Harold said, "Um... I'll be... at the Hillside... if anybody wants me." All he heard was a faint, "Hmmm..."

Over the next few days, Sophia moved into Hillside 2, and with Antonia's assistance attended to many of the details. Harold, Harry, and Antonia showed her around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade in the small amount of free time that they managed to find. Questions and details seemed to pop up constantly as the weddings grew closer.

The Longbottom's managed an open house celebration in the midst of everything else that was going on. The new abode was quite impressive and definitely showed off Ginny's decorating talents. Ginny also announced that her decorating business was expanding to include wedding and party planning, and that Evan had agreed to become a part-time consultant.

Harry had been busy making portkeys for the Minnesota crowd. One for Dennis and Steve, allowing them to attend the bachelor party, and one for Mary, Marta, and Michele for the ladies party. Two more would take the Johnsons, the Trandems, and Michele to Hogwarts, then to Rome, and finally back to Minnesota.

Figuring out how to phrase the wedding invitations had been a bigger chore than anyone had imagined. After who knows how many attempts and variations - not to mention some rather heated moments, they finally agreed on the wording. Though not perfect, it would simply have to do.

Antonia and Sophia had insisted that the bachelor parties be on Wednesday night in order to avoid any hangovers on the day of the wedding.

Ron and Evan had arranged to rent out the Happy Hippogriff for the evening.

Harry couldn't help feeling that Fred and George had something to do with the entertainment for the evening. The scantily clad dancers and the 'take off the fashions' show models were all sets of identical twins. Every man in the building was, shall we say - intrigued!

Like all bachelor parties there was an abundance of drinking and the usual jokes and stories about married life. Somewhere around the beginning of the meal, a few meaningful words and best wishes were offered by Ron, Evan, and Steve.

Although Harold had warned Steve not to drink firewhiskey, there were enough other choices for him to keep up with the rest. Thinking ahead, Harry had prepared a large quantity of his morning after concoction. Each guest was given an unbreakable jar of the stuff to take home with him as he left the nightclub. Flying under the influence was highly discouraged, while apparating under the influence was essentially impossible. When one received their apparating license, a spell was cast on the wizard that made apparating impossible once a certain amount of liquor, or other controlled substances, had been introduced into the system. Being splinched was usually a rather painful, unsightly, embarrassing, and expensive situation. It was also one of the more repulsive duties the magical reversal squad had to deal with. Collecting body parts from two different locations and putting the stupid git back together tended to cause a loss of appetite, and generally ruined one's entire day.

Laughing and singing all the way - Neville and the Weasley brothers followed the Potters, Evan, Steve, and Dennis to the Hillside. The rest of the guys had booked a few rooms to share at the inn a block away from the Happy Hippogriff. Harry and Harold were thankful for their own rooms, while Steve, being the only muggle, was given the third bedroom. The rest had to settle for mattresses in the gym. Of course, it really didn't matter since five minutes after their arrival, not a one of them was still conscious.

Being one of the most celebrated actresses in all of Italy, Cara had a world of connections. She had arranged their evening at one of the most popular and upscale clubs in Rome. It was the first time in the history of the establishment that it had been closed for a private party. Under the guise that her cousins deserved nothing but the best, Cara had spent most of her free evenings in the last month searching the southern half of Italy for the best male dancers the country had to offer. Trying to convince the others, she faked a yawn and said, "It was an arduous task, but somebody had to do it."

Apparently, her acting ability, which had won the admiration of critics and theatre goers alike, was lost on her family and friends who burst into laughter with more than a few smart-ass comments. After trying to appear shocked and hurt, Cara could hold it in no longer. Laughing, she said, "Okay, okay, it was a hell of a lot of fun. But I guarantee - you won't be disappointed!"

Following a sumptuous meal and a few meaningful words and toasts, the entertainment began. From the reaction in the club, Cara's studious search appeared to pay off. While the music pulsed piercingly, the men's erotic dancing and gradual loss of clothing seized the attention of every woman present. The combination of the entertainment and the liquor had an interesting effect on Antonia. While all eyes were focused on the dancers, she managed to slip her wand up the sleeve of her blouse. Suddenly, what little material was left covering the essentials started dropping to floor, leaving nothing to the imagination! Hoots and cheers of approval managed to drown out the music.

All the guests were spending the night at Josephine's and Benedetta's homes. Transportation had been provided by a small fleet of limousines. As they entered the houses, identical large boxes, with large red ribbons, awaited them. A note attached to each box, simply read - "Love, Harry and Harold." Opening the boxes revealed multiple jars of Harry's morning after concoction.

Being both repulsed by, and grateful for, their morning recovery potion, everyone scattered to deal with the various last minute details. After they had parted company on Wednesday, the couples would not see each other until the brides walked down the aisle on Friday afternoon. The customary rehearsal for the ceremonies had been foregone in the hopes that everyone in the wedding party had been involved in enough weddings as to know what to do. In addition, several countries and time zones had to be taken into consideration. The only concern was for Sean, the triplets, and Andrea. Andrea was Sophia's niece, who was to serve as flower girl.

With their parent's approval, Harry apparated to the Burrow, Minnetonka, and Rome. He had devised a low key remembrance spell, which he cast on each child. They would know exactly what to do for the ceremonies, but it would not interfere with their minds at all. The day after the wedding in Rome, the spell would fade away, only to be replaced by their natural memories of the occasion.

The brothers apparated to Milan to pick up their robes and tuxedos. Uncle Giovanni had performed his usual magical perfection. He also informed Harry that it had taken some doing to talk Antonia into changing her mind about the neckline of her robe and gown. But, trusting her favorite uncle, she finally acquiesced to his designers' opinion.

Aunt Petunia, Ginny, and Evan spent most of the day at Hogwarts seeing to every detail, both inside and outside the castle. As their gift to the two couples, the house elves had been working on making everything in the castle shine in a way it hadn't done in centuries. They also helped Hagrid in manicuring the landscape.

Dumbledore had asked Harry if he might be allowed to witness the ceremony and reception in a more dignified manner than through one of his chocolate frog cards. Not knowing why he had never thought about it before, Harry commissioned the Hogsmeade artist who had painted the portrait hanging in his office, to paint an identical picture without Albus in it. The new picture was hung over the mantle of the mammoth fireplace in the Great Hall. Dumbledore could now visit the hall at will, with a perfect view of the entire place.

*******

Thursday evening Harry, Harold, and Aunt Petunia joined the Weasley's for dinner. It was a relaxing and welcomed evening after the rigors of the last few days. They had dined outside in the warm summer evening. Harry found himself reminiscing about so many meals out in this yard over the years. He leaned over and whispered something to Ron and Hermione, who nodded in agreement. Turning to Harold, he asked, "You don't mind, do you?"

"No, you guys go ahead."

The trio excused themselves and headed toward the woods. The triplets started to get up when Molly asked, "Just where do you three think you're going?"

Innocently, Douglas replied, "With Mum, Dad, and Uncle Harry."

"Leave them be. You three sit back down, it's almost time for dessert."

As everyone watched the three friends meander, George said, "It's kind of like the end of an era."

Ginny added, "I can hardly remember when they haven't been together. It's not like when Ron and Hermione got married. The only thing that changed then - was who Ron was sharing a room with!"

"Ginny!" Molly exclaimed.

Chuckling, Fred said, "Well, she does have a point."

Watching them disappear into the trees, Harold said, "I don't think anything will change that friendship. They've already been through so much over the years, I'm sure they'll simply adjust to another change. After all, life is full of changes...trust me - I know!"

"Yes, I'm sure you do dear." Molly lightened the mood by asking, "Alright, who's ready for dessert?"

To no-one's surprise came a trio of young voices, "Me - me - me!"

*******

The next morning, Harry opened the drapes and stared at the castle glistening in the morning sunlight. Although he never tired of the sight, as that had been home since he was eleven years old, until today, it had only seemed to twinkle at night.

He had just joined Harold, who had been making coffee and toast, at the dining room table when Aunt Petunia rushed into the room. Setting two boxes on the table, she said, "I wanted to give these to you before I left for the castle."

"Thanks, but how about some coffee before you rush off?" Harold asked.

"Thank you, but I've got too much to do before the guests start arriving." She paused and looked at her nephews. "I wish both of you long lives full of love and happiness. I can't tell you how proud I am to be your aunt." Before either one of them could say a word, she leaned down, gave each of them a kiss, then, tapped her necklace and disappeared.

"Are you sure that's the same woman you've told me about growing up with?"

Harry looked back at Harold and said, "Believe me - sometimes I ask myself the same question." Glancing at the boxes he said, "I suppose we should open these. You go first."

Harold read the small, simple card... "Forever yours - all my love, Sophia" Opening the box, he found an impressive, though unique, ruby ring. He put it on his finger and noticed that the gold band came up both sides of his finger and gently suspended the ruby only by the thickness of the band on the edge of the stone. "Wow! I wonder how she chose a ruby?"

Harry shrugged his shoulders, saying, "Don't look at me - I didn't say a word. It is a really cool ring though. Guess I should open mine now." He opened the card and read, "A love to last a lifetime, frozen in a single moment. My love is yours for eternity, Toni" The box revealed a small replica of the Fountain of Trevi. It was hand carved out of the same stone used to create the actual fountain. Two birds frozen in fight, water frozen in mid spill, and the pool, appeared in crystal. Two porcelain figures; a woman sitting on the wall, and a man on one knee in front of her, graced the front of the fountain.

Harold leaned in to more closely examine the piece. "Is that you and Antonia?"

"Yeah, that's where I proposed."

"Didn't know you were such a romantic."

"Oh shut it. I think we'd better get ready and get over to the castle. The guests will start arriving in an hour or so and we should be there to mingle or whatever."

*******

A short time later, they arrived in Harry's office. Their appearance was met with applause from the gallery. Startled, the Potters tuned to see what the commotion was all about. "What's that lot on about?" Harry asked.

"Don't ask me, they're your predecessors."

As the noise faded, Dumbledore stated, "We all wish both of you all the joy and happiness that life has to offer!"

A slight nod and a large smile from Harry as he simply said, "Thank you."

With an added twinkle in his eyes and a little wider grin, Dumbledore added, "We also look forward to the day when young Potters are once again students, here at Hogwarts."

Harold quickly interjected, "Um...one thing at a time, Professor."

Pulling an envelope out of his desk, Harry propped it upright, making it easier for Bella to collect when the appropriate time arrived. Harry turned to his brother and said, "We have one more stop to make before we meet the masses."

*******

The door opened and Harry's mouth dropped at the sight before him. "Hagrid, I've never seen you in robes before...and you've trimmed your hair and beard too!"

"Never been a time like this before!" He beamed at the twins and continued, "C'mon in, I just made a pot o' tea."

As they sat at the table, Harold's wide eyes roamed the hut. "Interesting place you have here Hagrid."

"Haven't I ever brought you down here before?" Harry asked.

"No. I would definitely have remembered this place."

Pouring the tea, Hagrid said, "I can' tell ya how 'appy I am ta see this day. First the two a ya find each other, now ya's both gettin' married."

"None of this would have happened if you hadn't rescued me from the Dursley's when I was eleven, Hagrid."

"I didn't do nothin'." He blushed and turned his head away.

"I don't mean to break up this mutual admiration society," Harold interjected, "but we had better get going if we plan on greeting people."

"He's right. We'd better be going. Thanks for everything Hagrid."

"Be 'appy... both of yous!"

As they headed to the front of the castle to greet the growing number of guests, Harold said, "It would really be nice if mom and dad were able to be here."

"Haven't you figured that out yet? They're watching us most of the time. They'll be here."

"I suppose you're right." A smile crept across Harold's face as an idea crossed his mind. "I sure as hell hope they find something else to watch tomorrow night!" They both burst out laughing as they continued to saunter along.

*******

They greeted many people as they slowly made their way over to the oak tree providing shade for the Johnsons and the Trandems.

"Good afternoon everyone. Hope you had no trouble getting here?"

"That portkey thing is really a trip!" Kyle remarked.

"Well, that's one way of putting it," Harry replied. He reached to the back of his head as if to scratch. A small movement of his finger sent a message to Bella and caused the magic quill on his desk to finish the address on the envelope he had set aside. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched as Bella flew from the owlery to his office and back out again. The snowy white always managed to grasp the attention of onlookers as the graceful white sailed across the deep blue sky. Harry smiled as she dropped the letter on Sean's head, circled Harry once giving a soft hoot, and flew away again.

Sean picked up the envelope and read the address...

Mr. Sean Lewis Johnson

Oak tree by the lake

Hogwarts Castle

He scanned the contents and could hardly contain his excitement. "Really? I can come to school here?"

Using his best headmaster face and stoic voice, Harry said, "The final decision is actually up to your parents."

His eyes filled with longing, an expression of pleading engulfing his face, Sean gazed at his parents and begged, "Well?"

After waiting for what seemed like - forever, the boy's dream came true as his mother said, "Of course you may." The smile on the young wizard's face threatened to swallow up his entire head.

Julia could wait no longer, and asked, "Harry, do you remember you said we could have a tour of the castle when we returned for the wedding?"

"Yes, I remember." Checking his watch, he said, "I think Harold can handle that while I see a few other people. Of course, you'll have to wait until the ceremony to see the Great Hall." Turning toward his brother, he continued in a low tone, "I'll meet you in the lounge off the side of where the high table usually sits in forty five minutes."

"You got it."

As Harold led the small band of Minnesotans to the castle, Harry made his way through the gathering crowd, stopping for short conversations and thanking them for coming.

*******

Harold arrived at the lounge at the appointed time, while Harry was a few minutes late. Ron, Evan, Sean, and the triplets were waiting as well. They all changed into the robes waiting for them. The boys in black robes with light blue trim and matching ties. Ron and Evan in similar black robes with royal blue trim and ties. Harry and Harold in navy blue robes with silver trim and ties. Each received a small orchid boutonniere.

Minerva came to collect the boys and take them to the entrance hall. Before they left, Ron said, "Listen you three; I strongly suggest you not do anything to ruin this wedding. If you do, the Minister of Magic might just send you off to Azkaban."

"Mom wouldn't do that!" James exclaimed.

"You ruin your Uncle Harry's wedding, and I wouldn't put anything past her...and I won't do a thing to protect you. Do you all understand?"

In unison came a mumbled, "Yes sir."

As the door closed behind them, Harry asked, "Poured it on a bit thick, didn't you?"

"Hey, whatever it takes."

*******

The four men stepped into the hall and took their places. Harry and Harold on the top step with Ron and Evan one step below. They gazed around, hardly recognizing the place. The tables had been replaced with dozens of rows of chairs, which were filled with guests. The floating candles were pure white and nestled in beds of red, yellow, white, and orange hibiscus flowers with a single delicate branch of orchids trailing downward from each. Garlands of tropical flowers were gracefully spilling down the stone side and front walls. A white carpet ran the full length of the hall from the great doors to the stairs where the men waited.

Harry observed Dumbledore in the portrait over the fireplace. Albus looked over the top of his glasses with a smile and pointed at the wall behind Harry. Harry casually turned and studied the wall. Once his eyes were about fifteen feet above the floor he spotted them. He leaned over and whispered to Harold, " You have your wish...they're here." Following Harry's eyes, Harold finally saw the two dull spheres of light. The spheres hovered mainly in the window as not to be noticed. They had dropped below the sill just long enough for their sons to notice.

Dressed in black robes with gold trim and a gold scarf neatly hanging from her shoulders, Hermione took her place on landing behind the grooms. A slight nod of her head, started the music.

The giant doors opened and the procession began. Andrea entered first, dressed in soft blue robes, and carrying a shallow basket filled with miniature orchids which she dropped as she strolled down the aisle. Next came Sean and the triplets, holding white satin pillows, each with a ring magically set to stay in place. Cara and Paola followed, wearing royal blue robes and carrying twin orchid stems.

Harold smiled when he noticed that Evan couldn't take his eyes off Cara.

Everyone stood as Uncle Giovanni entered the hall with a niece on each arm. Sophia on his left in her white silk robes, a small red orchid in her hair matching her ruby bracelet and earrings. Antonia on his right arm, her white silk robes, with a little deeper neckline displaying her diamond necklace, and a baby white hibiscus flower over her right ear. Both women carried bouquets of peacock orchids.

Once they reached the front of the hall, Harry and Harold stepped down to the main floor. Uncle Giovanni kissed Sophia and put her hand in Harold's. He then kissed Antonia and put her hand in Harry's. They returned to the top step while the assembled guests took their seats.

Hermione began the service. "I would like to welcome all the families, friends, and honored guests to this very special double marriage ceremony of Harry James Potter and Antonia Guliatta LaFortezza along with Harold Jim Potter and Sophia Aganese Palmisano."

"This is a day the wizarding world has long awaited and truly shares in their joy. The story of the Potters is known the world over. Harry and Harold have found the perfect life partners to make their lives complete. Our best wishes go with them as they begin this new chapter of their lives."

Pointing her wand at the rings on the pillows, she released their bond and stood the rings on end. Barely moving her lips, she whispered, "I hope I can do this. I've never tried with four streams before." Harry gave her a quick wink, and with a tiny movement of his little finger, gave her wand the extra power it needed.

She pointed the wand between the two couples and started the ancient Latin incantation. Four streams of small golden stars burst forth taking the rings from the pillows. The streams split into pairs; each pair entwining each couple three times before gently placing the rings on the proper fingers. Setting her wand down, she stretched out her arms, a hand over each couple, and finished the incantation - thus sealing the magical union. As she lowered her arms, the golden stream of stars faded away.

"I now pronounce you husbands and wives!" She paused as the newly-weds stared at her in anticipation. A big smile appeared as she said, "Well - have at it!" The couples were more than happy to oblige. When they had finally rejoined the rest of the hall, Hermione announced, "May I present Mr. and Mrs. Harry Potter and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Potter." As the guests broke into applause, the twins glanced at the wall behind them just long enough to see the two spheres twinkle brightly and disappear. The two couples headed down the aisle and out to the lawn in front of the castle.

They had decided to forego the traditional receiving line; opting instead to make the rounds out on the grounds as the hall was being altered for the reception. Trays of champagne and lemonade floated over the grounds, allowing the guests refreshment during the late afternoon heat.

The couples had spent nearly an hour roaming the grounds greeting guests. The last time anyone had seen Aunt Petunia, was at the end of the ceremony. She and Molly were standing together, hankies in hand. While talking with Josephine, Benedetta, and Giovanni, Sophia saw her standing alone, near some bushes at the corner of the building. When she gestured with her head, Harry and Harold excused themselves and headed toward the bushes.

"Aunt Petunia, are you alright?" Harry asked.

"Yes dear. Why do you ask?"

"Well, we've hardly seen you at all today, and now you're standing over here by yourself."

"I've had so much to do; making sure everything went as planned and such."

"You've done a spectacular job, and we can't thank you enough," Harold said. "It's time you let Ginny's people and the house elves worry about the rest."

Harry saw one of the trays floating along and levitated three glasses of champagne over. Raising his glass, Harry said, "To Aunt Petunia, wedding planner extraordinaire!" Then all three of them joined the other guests.

The castle doors opened, followed by the doors to the Great Hall, beckoning the guests to enter. Entering the hall, the crowd was greeted by tables full of food and drink which lined the back wall on either side of the doors. Round tables and chairs had been placed along the side walls, and a large parquet dance floor was centered in the middle of the room. The high table was back in its place for the wedding party and a band had set up in the left corner of the room.

The reception turned into a great party that lasted for several hours. Cara caught Antonia's bouquet and all eyes fell on Evan. He looked around quizzically and asked, "What?"

Harold replied, "Considering the fact you haven't left her alone for more than three minutes since the end on the ceremony..."

"So we've been enjoying ourselves. Hardly a reason to start planning a wedding."

With a nonchalant expression and tone, Harold simply said, "Whatever."

Angela caught Sophia's bouquet. Dennis immediately said, "Don't get any ideas - you're grounded until you're thirty!"

When most of the guests had departed, Farquar approached Harry and asked, "Professor, will you and your brother please join us in the side lounge for a few minutes?"

As they entered the room, they were overwhelmed by the sight of dozens of house elves, all smiling at them. Farquar said, "We wanted to tell you that it has been both a privilege and a pleasure assisting Mrs. Dursley and Mrs. Longbottom with all the wedding arrangements. We all chipped in for the materials so that Dobby could make your wedding gifts. We hope you like them."

Dobby snapped his fingers and two beautifully wrapped boxes appeared on the table in front of them. After years of Dobby's presents, Harry braced himself. They were more than pleasantly surprised when they opened the boxes. Somewhere along the line, Dobby had switched from knitting to embroidery. Each box contained a pillow with an extremely detailed embroidered scene on it. A scene of a tropical island, complete with a huge tree containing a tree house graced one pillow, while the other contained a scene of an impressive cabin high in the snow covered mountains.

Harry looked at Harold, who quickly said, "I haven't told a sole."

"Does Harry Potter and his brother like the pillows?" a beaming Dobby asked.

"Dobby, they are beautiful and the detail is very impressive," Harry replied. "However, I am curious as to how you knew where we are going on our honeymoons? We haven't told anyone - including Antonia and Sophia."

"House elves has our ways of finding out things Harry Potter, sir," Dobby answered as his ears drooped. "I am sorry, but I can not tell even Harry Potter how."

"It is part of our code, sir," Farquar added. "If it is of any comfort, we haven't told anyone about your plans. Your surprises are safe with us. The pillows will be kept safe and will be waiting at your homes upon your return."

Harold said, "Well, thank you very much. I'm sure we'll enjoy them for many years to come."

They returned to find that the last of the guests had departed and everyone else was ready to head to Rome for some much needed sleep before they did it all over again later that evening.

*******

Everyone slept soundly and late. Josephine had set a silencing charm around the house to prevent the commotion in the yard from disturbing anyone. It was early afternoon when life started to creep around the abode. Maybe it was because they felt they didn't have a care in the world, but no-one could remember having a better night's sleep. Josephine had a 'light' brunch waiting for them in the dining room. She also insisted she didn't need any help and insisted they spend the afternoon relaxing.

Antonia and Sophia took Harry and Harold down the road to meet the priest that would be performing the ceremony. Padre Arturo Incassa was a rather small elderly man with a kind face and a full head of thick white hair. He spoke English, but with a heavy accent. He explained that the women had requested, in deference to the twins and their friends, that he use only the actual marriage ceremony instead of the entire celebration of marriage mass.

Once the details had been discussed, and the paperwork taken care, the couples headed back to Josephine's. As they walked along, hand in hand, Harry casually remarked, "If after yesterday - and tonight, we're all not really married, I doubt we ever will be!"

Antonia stepped sideways, bumping his shoulder, and said, "Well, maybe we can renew our vows for our hundredth anniversary?"

Without missing a stride, Harry asked, "Can we table that thought for about ninety-eight, or ninety-nine years?"

*******

When Remus arrived late in the afternoon, he and Harold went on a walk toward the river. The two of them sat on a log and talked for quite awhile. With a feeling of satisfaction, Harry watched them for awhile from the veranda. He was happy, that after all these years - Harold finally had a father (or godfather) figure to discuss things with.

Antonia and Sophia had once again disappeared from sight. As the afternoon turned into evening, the vast yard started to fill with wedding guests. Josephine had made it clear to Petunia that she was a guest today and that she was to relax and enjoy herself.

As the they changed onto their white tuxedos, complete with tails, Harry asked, "Nice visit with Remus?"

"Yeah, it was. Kinda weird though. I've never had anyone to talk with like that before. He gave us a mirror that had belonged to his parents."

"A mirror?"

"Never having been married, he's had no cause to use it, but wanted to give us something personal. It's enchanted to ensure that a couple never goes to bed angry or in a bad mood."

"Hmmm, sounds like something the entire world could use!" He peered out of the second story window at the scene below. "They weren't kidding about a candlelight ceremony!"

Harold joined him at the window and stared at the storybook scene. A white gazebo, lined with hefty white candles enclosed in delicately rounded glass cylinders, graced the far end of the yard overlooking the river. Small sprays of baby white roses cascaded down between the candles. Arranged in semi-circular rows, white chairs faced the gazebo. The wide center aisle contained the same candle displays perched on top of slender white poles, with three white roses attached to each pole, located at the end of every third row. The simplicity and purity of all that white, along with the flickering candles, was striking against the ever deepening orange sky.

*******

Mesmerized by the sight of Antonia being led down the aisle, Harry concluded that there were some things that were far superior in the muggle world. Although robes were functional, comfortable, and sometimes even 'formal' - the sight of the woman you love wearing a beautiful, form fitting, white wedding gown was absolutely enchanting. It was a sight he would carry in his memory for the rest of his days.

The ceremony was simple, charming, and memorable.

The celebration continued well into the wee hours of the morning. Once again, Evan and Cara spent the entire evening glued to each other's side.

Once most of the guests had departed, and only family and close friends remained, Ron tried one more time. "Now where is it you guys are going?"

"Sorry mate, we'll tell you in a couple weeks," Harry said with a smile.

"So you'll be back on the thirtieth?" Hermione asked.

"Most likely the on the first," Harry responded.

"Oh no Enrico, we'll be back on the thirtieth," Antonia said.

"Why the thirtieth?"

"Because the thirty-first is your birthday, and we're having a party at the Hillside 2. It will be the first time you and Harold will be able to celebrate your birthdays together!

"Lovely thought, but you're going to party me to death at this rate."

With a rather seductive expression, she said, "No darling, the party will be a time for you to... rejuvenate!"

Not looking at anyone else in the room, Harry said, "We should change and get out of here so these people can get some sleep. Did you and Sophia put your bags of 'essentials' in our room?"

"Yes, but it still feels strange not to have packed any clothes. You two are really going to play out this surprise honeymoon bit all the way aren't you? There wasn't even a suitcase in that room of yours when we put the bags in there."

With raised eyebrows, Harold said, "Sure there are. You might have noticed them if you could see through an invisibility cloak!"

Shaking her head, Sophia said, "But you haven't even given us a hint as to what to wear."

"Just dress casually. You'll be able to change as soon as we get there."

As the couples headed upstairs, George quipped, "Those four are going to be fun to watch for the next few years!"

*******

Once they had changed their clothes, Harry and Harold sent the luggage off to their appropriate destinations. Harry turned to his brother and said, "Come here, I want to give you your wedding present."

"I thought we weren't going to do that?"

"Don't worry about it. This will only last until you wake up tomorrow morning! Now come here and stand in front of me." Somewhat confused, but intrigued, Harold did as Harry asked. Harry reached out and pulled him closer, so that they were practically toe to toe and nose to nose.

"Now stand still and look into my eyes." Harry put his hands on each side of Harold's head and stared into his eyes. Harry's eyes glowed vibrantly for a moment, then, he let go.

Harold staggered backward a couple of steps and said, "Whoa! What did you do?"

Catching his own breath, Harry said, "I've just shared my extra powers with you."

"You did what? How?"

"After a lot of research, I found a way to share these powers with you. Unfortunately, it will only last until you wake up tomorrow morning. In the meantime, you won't have to use your wand, will be able to apparate with Sophia so you don't have to leave separately..." He continued with a short list of examples.

"Um... will this help..."

Harry cut him off, "Sorry, you're on your own in that department."

With a devilish smile, Harold said, "Well, I've never had any complaints before!"

Harry rolled his eyes and said, "Whatever."

*******

As they descended the stairs, Antonia said, "I thought it was us women that supposedly took forever to change!"

"Sorry - last minute details," Harry replied.

They proceeded to make the rounds, thanking their friends for attending, and for all their assistance.

Harold and Sophia quietly spoke with Benedetta, while Harry and Sophia did the same with Josephine. A few personal parting words of love and thanks, along with hugs and kisses. They turned their attention to Aunt Petunia. Harry asked, "Will you be alright for the next couple of weeks?"

"I'll be fine. I'm going to spend a few days with here with Josephine and Benedetta. Then a couple days with Molly. I'll go home and rest for a few days and get things ready for your birthday party."

"Well, thanks for everything. You did a fantastic job with the wedding yesterday."

"It was my pleasure. Now you four had better get going. Don't think about anything or anyone except yourselves. I'm sure the world will survive for a couple weeks without you." A hug and kiss to each bride; after which, she held her nephews in a close embrace and whispered to them, "I love you both, very much."

The two couples looked at all their friends and thanked them one more time for being part of their special days.

Ginny said, "Aw come on, one last kiss for the road!"

Harry turned to Harold and whispered with a wink, "Perfect." The brothers took their wives in their arms and started to kiss them. Somewhere in mid kiss, they disappeared.

Ron quipped, "They certainly know how to make an exit!"

Feeling the warmth of the tropical breeze, Antonia opened her eyes. "Enrico, it's the island. It's even more beautiful than the last time we were here! It...it's paradise!"

"It is now that you're here." Pulling her close, he began kissing her again. A few minutes later, he waved his hand and Antonia found herself in the white bikini Harry liked so well, while he was in her favorite pair of swim trunks. Arm in arm, they began to stroll down the beach.

The cold translucent air caused Sophia to hold Harold all the tighter. Opening her eyes, she was met with the grandeur of the tallest mountain peak in New Zealand. "Enrico, it's absolutely breathtaking!"

"That's nothing compared to what I'm looking at." As Sophia blushed, Harold noticed she was getting cold. With a wave of his hand, their shoes turned into fur lined boots and their jackets into full length fur coats.

Sophia reached up and pushed back his hair. "Okay - no scar, how did you do that?"

"A little wedding gift from Harry. It will only last until we wake up tomorrow morning, so I figure I'd better make the most of it while I can." After a passionate kiss, they headed toward the luxurious cabin, arm in arm.

As the sun slipped below the edge of the water, Harry waved his hand and the wondrous music of the flora started up. He took Antonia in his arms and started to dance. Once again, in the light of the half moon, they kissed and danced above the delicately swaying palms.

With the cabin now in sight, Harold suggested, "Let's dance."

"In the snow - with no music?"

Smiling, Harold said, "Trust me." He waved his hand, and the snow covered pines started a remarkably romantic melody. He took Sophia in his arms and they gradually rose above the trees and began slowly dancing their way to the cabin. As they reached the deck off the bedroom, the French doors opened to grant them access.

While Sophia freshened up, Harold noticed the reflected moonlight off the snow added a certain romance to the bedroom. With a passing wave, he lit the logs in the fireplace, turned down the bed, and waited. Sophia returned wearing a very revealing white negligee.

"You are absolutely radiant! Just one tiny problem." A small movement of his finger caused the negligee to drop to the floor. Not taking his eyes off her, he pulled back the covers and softly said, "Come here my love."

She joined him under the covers and removed his glasses. They embraced and...

Antonia walked out of the changing room in a black negligee which didn't leave much to the imagination. Harry gazed at his wife and said, "You are simply the most beautiful woman in the world! Though I think one minor adjustment is called for." With the slightest movement of his finger, the negligee was released. His eyes inviting her to join him.

Silently answering those emerald eyes, she slipped under the covers and removed his glasses. He took her into his arms and...

Simultaneously, in the mountains of New Zealand, and on an island in the South Pacific, two words were breathlessly uttered with Italian accents - "Oohhhh, Enrico!"
