I'd like to thank Frooney, Suz, Jen, for introducing me to the freaky fan fic world! All my friends who might pop up in this book, hope you're not offended! :-)
Chapter One-
A white snowy owl appeared in the inky black night sky, flying out from behind the dark grey clouds. On its leg it held two rolls of parchment with sparkling emerald green writing. It swooped down onto what looked like a reasonably normal looking house and dropped the letters down an ordinary looking chimney but do not judge the book by its cover because this was no ordinary house.
Sleeping peacefully inside its walls was a well respected family of four who were going to wake up to a most welcome surprise in the fireplace. It was five in the morning and the sun had not yet risen. Harry Potter reached out his hand, feeling along the wooden bedside table for his black round glasses. He sat up rubbing his eyes and wiped his glasses on his pinstriped pyjama top. He picked up his wand from the top of a wooden chest and whispered "Lumos" softly. A beam of light emerged out from the wand's tip illuminating the bedroom with a dim light.
"Harry?" a groggy voice croaked from behind him.
"Go back to sleep, Ginny, I just want to see if its here yet..."
"It will be, its never late... come back to bed ." She sat up, her flaming red hair dropped down by her shoulders.
"Mine was..." Harry turned to face her."But I suppose that wasn't the schools fault."
"Of course it wasn't." She put her arms around his waist and grinned."Come back to bed!"
He smiled. "You're keen!" Harry lifted his arms around her and squeezed her gently.
It was very early morning and Harry came down the spiral staircase leading to the Gryffindor common room because he could not sleep. He walked over to the big squashy chairs like he usually did when he'd had a rough night but noticed his favourite chair was already taken. Ginny had not noticed him and was looking through a photo album with a box of "Weasley's Every Colour Coded Tissues". She had a blue one gripped in between her fingers which symbolised sadness.
"Hey, Gin." He sat down next to her trying to take a peek of what she was looking at. She jerked her head up and he immediately saw her red swollen eyes. The photos spilled out onto the floor along with the rainbow tissues that were now flashing and sneezing everywhere. She immediately pounced onto the floor trying to cover up all the waving photos beaming up at her.
"What do you think your doing?!" she snapped.
"Sorry, but I thought this was a common room, ie, for everyone?" He sat on the floor next her and reached out to help her pick up the scattered photos.
"Don't!" She scrambled in front of him trying to block his view.
"I won't look, what ever they are." He brought out his wand from inside his pyjama pocket."Just let me..." She looked confused but allowed him to do what ever he was intending to and nodded her head. "Pictures vacuus," he muttered and the photos were suddenly covered by blackness so he could not see what they were hiding.
"Thanks," she muttered.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," she lied.
"Oh," he sat back on the chair. "It's just, you've got mascara under your eyes and it looks to me as if you've been crying."
She ran her fingers under her eyes and sat back in his favourite chair with her box of tissues. She was still holding the blue one but it was slightly ripped and misshaped. "I'm fine."
"Yeah," he smiled.
"What?" She glared at him. "I said I was fine!"
"I know what you said, but your tissue, it's blue." He grinned. "Sorry!"
She tried to stare at him but found herself smiling back. "Stupid tissues, I knew I shouldn't have let Fred make me buy them!" She threw it onto the floor and as it left her grasp it immediately started flashing different colours again.
"So, what's wrong?" He looked at her again. Her face was hidden behind a long lock of red hair and all that he could see was the ends of her eyelashes and the tip of her nose.
She looked up at him, flicked back her shiny hair and raised her eyebrows. " I can't tell you."
"And why not?" He noticed she had an eyelash stuck onto her cheek.
"Because..." She searched the room for an answer. "Because... well you'll tell him."
"Who, Ron? I won't tell him, promise."
"He's supposed to be your best friend, I'd tell a best friend, that's what they're there for, isn't it?"
"Yes, but I won't tell Ron, I promise."
"Look, it's not about Ron!"
"Oh, but I thought you said..."
"No, you said! I didn't say anything!" She raised her voice. He loved it when she raised her voice!
He leant back into the comfort of the chair. Girls were too confusing!
"Me and Seamus, we've broken up." She looked at the photos guiltily.
"Why?" He sat back up again. They had been going out for over two months now.
"He didn't think it was working out..."
"Wait, HE broke up with YOU!" Harry stood up but quickly sat back down again. "He broke up with you?"
"Yes, is that so hard to believe?" She picked up the blacked out photos.
"Well, yes!" He looked at her dark brown eyes and saw them staring at the empty pictures. "They of him then?"
"No," she replied bluntly.
"The bastard!"
"Harry! He's one of your best friends!" She was shocked at how he was reacting.
"I know, but come on, why the hell would he break up with you? He is always going on about you, God, he never shuts up!" He saw her blush. "There must be some mistake, in fact..."
"No Harry! There's no mistake..."
" Seamus would not break up with you, have you seen you lately?" She sat up. "You're..."
"I'm what?" She stared at him and watched him go red. " I'm what?" she repeated but more quietly.
"You're, well..."
"Yes?"
"Beautiful."
She smiled. "And so are you Harry Potter!"
"Gee thanks!"
She laughed. "Anyway, what would Cho say about her famous Harry flirting with poor rebound Ginny Weasley?!"
He started fidgeting with his glasses then put them back on. "I still can't believe it."
"What?"
"Seamus, breaking up with you. Why wasn't it supposedly working out anyway?"
"That, I definitely cannot tell you."
"Why, oh, I know!"
"What?"
"There's someone else! Come on, who is it?"
"I can't tell you!" She raised her eyebrows while going as red as her hair.
"So there is someone else! Come on, tell all! You can trust me! Is it someone I know?"
"You could say that." She looked down at the pictures glumly.
"Ok then is it, Dean? No, Neville, no wait, Hagrid?!"
"No, no and Harry, that's disgusting! You're really enjoying yourself aren't you!"
"No, I'm sorry, got a bit carried away!"
"Yes, you did!" She smirked at the thought of Hagrid. Trust Harry to think of something like that!
"Does Hermione know?"
"Of course!" Ginny was finding it very hard not to giggle or to cry. She was not quite sure what she felt like doing.
"Ron?"
"No, he'd tell you!"
"Why can everyone know but me?" He looked a little hurt.
"Isn't obvious?" He looked at her blankly, " Of course it isn't, you're a boy!"
"Who?" There was an awkward silence where Harry tried to figure out whether he should just give up trying. Ginny stared at the photos, confused and emotional. She knew she had to tell him but did not know how.
"Look, I'm sorry, I'll go back to bed, I can tell you don't want to tell me." He got up to go but stopped when Ginny grabbed his arm.
She stood up and looked into his bright green eyes looking down at her with deep concentration. She stood on her tiptoes and reached up her head and kissed him softly on his lips. He stared at Ginny for what seemed like ages. He could not believe that she felt the same way.
"I'm sorry, I, I shouldn't have..." she began to stutter but she never finished because he clasped his hands around her small waist and kissed her gently on her mouth. She stared into his eyes and he pulled her closer to his chest. She could feel his strong shoulder blades as she ran her hands across his back as he squeezed her against him softly. He lowered his head so they were the same level and kissed her passionately. She stumbled away from him, her hands shaking.
"What about Cho?" Ginny whispered.
"I'll tell her tomorrow, I'll tell her about..."
"Us." She repeated that word in her mind hundreds of times over and over again. "Us."
"Yeah, about us."
"What you smirkin' about?" Ginny gazed into his eyes.
Robin sat up and looked out of her window next to her. The sun was just about to rise and she looked for her watch that was usually next to her bed. She turned around to look at James sprawled across his bed, his pillow and cover on the floor in a heap. In his hand he was holding Robin's gold watch and she could just about make out, "To my dearest Robin, With Love, Mum." A jolt of excitement swept through her stomach. It was the tenth of August, hers and James's Birthday. They were both eleven and hoping for their letters this very morning. She ran over to her brother's bed and prodded him in his stomach.
"Gerroff!" he grumbled into the mattress.
"Give me my watch then, stupid!" She held her hand under his and waited for him to drop it. "Get up, lazy!"
"It's too early, go away!" James grabbed his pillow and buried his head under it to muffle out the sound.
"Don't you remember what day it is?" She snatched his pillow from him and hit him over his head with it playfully.
He pushed her away grinning into his bed. She jumped onto his bed hitting him repeatedly with the pillow until a fluffy feather floated onto her pyjama bottoms.
"You are so evil!" He grabbed the pillow out from her hand and she jumped back off his bed.
"I'll take that as a complement?!" She ran over to her pink bed to fetch her pillow and James scrambled after her bashing her with his pillow.
"Come on you two, I'd like to have one pillow left intact for when Uncle Ron comes round!" Ginny's head peeped around the door. "Come downstairs, I think your Dad might have two envelopes for you to open!"
Harry turned around slowly. The twins glanced nervously at each other then back at Harry. Robin tried to look into the fireplace and her stomach felt as though it had one million butterflies buzzing around in it when she found that it was empty.
"Where are they Dad?" James asked, his voice quivering from disappointment. Ginny walked into the room slowly looking very confused.
"What's wrong with you guys? I thought you two would be racing around the house tearing up cushions by now!"
"They're not here Mum..." Robin had waited for this day ever since she had watched her best friend Tabitha leave her to go to Hogwarts last year.
"What do mean they're not here?" Harry grinned behind the twins, "Oh, Harry, you told me you wouldn't do this! Check in the kitchen guys, I think your Dad has not exactly let on everything he knows!" She glared at her husband and walked briskly into the kitchen following her children. Harry laughed and ran after them.
"Count to three, OK?" Robin nodded.
"One, two, THREE!!!" They both tore open the top of the envelope in unison. James's letter fell onto the tiled floor while Robin's remained neatly in her hand.
Dear Miss Potter,
We are pleased to announce that you have been accepted to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The school year will begin on September the first. You will travel on the Hogwarts Express which will leave from King's Cross Station, platform nine and three-quarters, at eleven o'clock. Please be punctual.
A list of equipment and books needed for the school year is enclosed.
Yours sincerely,
Professor L. Winterson
Deputy Headmistress
"Does yours say the same?" James grinned craning his neck to see her letter.
"It's the same." She turned away. The one thing Robin could not stand was people reading over her shoulder.
"Give us a look one of you. I haven't seen one of these in ages." Robin passed her letter to Ginny. James sat down on a stool, still marvelling over his letter!
Harry stood behind her and read it over her shoulder. "I've still got mine upstairs. The first letter I ever got!" Ginny smiled looking at her perfect family. James took after Harry with his dark uncontrollable hair and warm green eyes. Robin looked like Ginny except with dark hair. She noticed a hole in her pyjama sleeve and made a mental note to fix it before they went to school.
There was a loud rapping on the door.
"It'll be Ron, I'll get it." Ginny tied up her blue flannel dressing ground. "You two, get dressed"
"Can't we have presents?" James looked up eagerly.
"Get dressed first." She walked to the front door recognising her brother's bright red hair through the frosted glass.
"Hi Ron!" She kissed him on the cheek as he hugged her gently.
"Got their letters then?" Ron asked as he saw Robin racing around the corner.
"Uncle Ron!"
"Hey, Rob!" Robin loved Ron and always got excited when he came over.
"Don't call her that!" Ginny ran her hands through her hair. "Robin, get the bathroom before James does." Robin went upstairs still holding her letter.
Ron and Ginny walked into the kitchen.
"Hey Harry." Ron sat down by the table.
"Hi!"
"I thought Eleanor and Troy were coming?" Ginny poured Ron a cup of tea.
"They've decided to meet us there, Eleanor wanted to beat the crowd or something, you know how she is." Her brother sipped the tea gratefully. Ron and Eleanor had been married for twelve years and Troy was their ten-year-old son. Harry and Ginny nodded in unison.
"Are you scared?" Robin asked quietly as she put on her green socks.
"Scared? No way!" His sister looked up at him. "Well maybe a little..."
"Yeah me too." She walked over to her bed and tied up her sleek long hair into a neat ponytail. "I'm not scared of leaving here, it's just, well, Mum and Dad. They're like legends at Hogwarts. I guess I don't want to be singled out."
"Well you won't, there's two of us. Pairs are never singled out!" James smiled. "Trust me!"
"Yeah, that's all very well, but what if we're split up? Then we're not a pair are we?" She walked over to the wardrobe and got out one of her old sweatshirts saying "Weasley Winners!!!" flashing in pink on the back of it. Another one of Fred and George's new creations.
"We won't be. I'm sure we won't. Anyway, you ready yet?"
"Nearly..."
Diagon Alley was always busy this time of year and it was full of stressed out parents with their excited children waiting to go to Hogwarts.
Ron was meeting Eleanor and Troy by the Leaky Cauldron so they all made their way.
"Don't loose your lists, actually I think I'll take them!"
"Mum, I'm fine, I've got James's anyway!" Robin held them out and stuffed them back in their pockets.
"Ginny, you do realise your turning more into Mum everyday!" Ron teased.
"Yes, well, your turning into Percy!" Ginny smirked but stopped when she realised Robin and James were laughing at her.
They were approaching the pub and Ron's wife trotted over to them holding Troy's hand.
"Hey, erm, just wondering if, erm..." Ron's freckled face went from slightly brown to the colour of his red t-shirt.
"You've gotta do it in French, she won't understand!" Harry hissed while trying hard not to burst out laughing.
"Erm..." Ron gritted his teeth. "Je... je..."
"Excuse- moi, but zis girl can understand perfect English!" She raised one eyebrow and leant forwards on the counter so that Ron could see right down her top!
"Oh, yeah, just wondering if, if..." Ron stuttered, (still looking down her top!).
"If?" She pouted her lips. "Do you not understand English either?"
At this point Harry totally lost it and was nearly rolling on the floor laughing in the back ground.
"Yeah, just wanted to ask if..."
"If?" She put her hands on her hips. "Would you like some ice-cream?"
"No..."
"Can you not read zis here? It says, Ice-cream Parlour, we do not sell anything else!"
"Wanna go on a date?" Ron looked up hopefully but looked back down again when she snorted.
"Are you joking?"
"Something like that!" Ron walked slowly back to Harry who had to steady himself on the wall.
"That went well!" Harry held his stomach. "That was so funny, you look like a tomato!"
"Thanks Harry! Always good to know I can count on a good friend to cheer me right up when my ego has just been deflated to the size of a pea!"
"Sorry, just, I could have done better than that!" Harry was still finding it difficult to breathe.
"Go on then, you try string a sentence together when this half naked sex Goddess flashes her tits in front of your face..." Ron stopped when he realised everything was eerily quite. Harry pointed to behind Ron so he spun around and found himself face to face with no-one other than the 'sex goddess!'
"Oh, hi!" Ron felt himself turning into a tomato again.
"Hello," She had one eyebrow raised again. "You know, I was not going to say anything, but I saw your friend laughing at you and I thought, you're OK!"
"Where is 'arry?"
"Getting money from Gringotts, he'll be back in a minute," Ginny answered casually.
"Isn't it Robin and James's birthdays today?"
"Yes, they're eleven." Ron put his arm around Eleanor and she smiled.
"Oh, here's Harry." Ginny jogged up to meet him kissing him quickly on the lips. She was wearing a pair of old baggy jeans and a tatty light blue robe over the top but she always managed to look nice in what ever she wore.
"So, we've got wands, robes, books?" Harry squinted his eyes at the list.
"Yep, so all we need now is potion stuff and a cauldron." Robin snatched the list out of her father's hands examining it for herself.
"Good, so we'd better go to the apothecary then..." Harry followed his daughter who was marching briskly ahead with Ron. Eleanor ran into Madam Malkin's Robes with Troy when she caught sight of the latest gear.
"Dad, Dad!" James froze on the spot.
"What?"
"Look!" He pointed to a window display of his favourite shop, Quality Quidditch Supplies. A new broom was floating in midair with purple cloudy letters saying, "Firebolt Five!"
"Come on, we'll have a look later. Better get the more important stuff first, eh?"
"Oh dear, what a sorry sight that is," a drawling voice came from behind him. Harry turned around and stood face to face with Draco Malfoy.
"Hello, Draco," Harry muttered trying to act civil in front of his children. Ron marched to Harry's side with Robin who was exchanging confused looks with James.
"Well, aren't you going to introduce me? I don't think we've had the 'pleasure'..." Draco said sarcastically.
"This is Draco Malfoy." Harry pointed at him and the twins suddenly understood why their Dad was being so weird. Draco's name had cropped up quite a lot in the Potter house. Usually when Harry spotted yet another article in the Daily Prophet about how wonderful the Malfoy family is. He suspected it had something to do with Draco bribing Rita Skeeter.
"And they must be the famous 'Double Act' everyone's been talking about..."
The twins glared at him and Robin who had never really hated anyone before, found it surprisingly easy!
"Father." A pale girl with silvery blonde hair down to her shoulders wearing a black fitted dress walked up to Draco from Knockturn Alley. She stood next to him looking Robin and James up and down with her cold grey eyes and her mouth slightly open.
"Invidia, this is Harry Potter..." Draco swept his hand through the air resting it on Harry's shoulder with his black leather fingerless gloves. Harry flinched and stepped back. Invidia raised an eyebrow and smirked.
Ron looked down at her with deep disgust.
Draco smiled. "So, Weasley..." Ron looked up. "Still Harry's little sidekick then. How... nice."
Ron opened his mouth to make a witty remark but stopped when he saw the twins out of the corner of his eye. Instead he just grunted and watched Draco's lips curl.
The silence was broken by Eleanor trotting up to Ron with two more shopping bags and Troy.
"'Ello Darling..." She was about to show him the new dress she had luckily found in the sale but stopped when she noticed the tense silence. "What is wrong?" Her eyes rested on Draco. "Oh, its you." She knew all about the Malfoys!
Draco looked at Eleanor's tall figure and blonde hair. "I have to say, Ron, you've not done so bad for yourself, quite a catch!"
Ron's skin crawled. "Eleanor, would you mind taking the kids, while we, erm, settle this?" She kissed him quickly on his lips while glaring at Draco and wandered off with the twins and Troy back into the clothes shop.
"Leave her out of this, Malfoy." Ron stepped forwards so that Draco could see his blazing eyes.
"I was only saying that, a girl like that, with, well... someone like you, is quite a surprise!" His eyes narrowed. "I'd keep her on a lead if I were you, before someone sweeps her off her feet!"
A sudden burst of anger bubbled up in Ron's stomach, he brought back his fist but Harry grabbed onto the back of his shirt.
"Don't, you'll regret it," Harry said bluntly. Ron tried to be angry at Harry but just sighed. "Now, if you don't mind Draco, we'd better be going!"
"Oh, so soon?" Draco put on a sarcastic voice. Invidia smiled.
"I don't want to late for Ginny to be with the likes of you." Harry spat out his words.
"That's not what she said to me," he replied bitterly.
"What do you mean?" Harry's voice quivered.
"I mean, she wasn't so keen to get away from me..." He raised his eyebrows.
Ron spotted Ginny walking up behind Draco with Hermione and Tabitha, (Hermione's daughter.) Harry's eyes were too busy starring at Draco in disbelief to notice. Ginny recognised the back of Draco's blonde silvery hair and marched briskly to behind him. Hermione followed with Tabitha.
"Didn't she tell you?" Draco pouted his lips. "Oh dear, that's a shame!"
"Tell me what?" Harry gritted his teeth. Ron stared at Ginny with wide eyes.
"About the night where she forgot all about little, Harry Potter, and thought about ... me!"
Harry's jaw dropped.
"She wasn't exactly, how shall I put it? Well, the best I've had but, I don't regret it..."
Ginny's eyes looked as if they were on fire. Her fists were clenched. She tapped him on the shoulder and Draco turned around. Invidia watched in amazement as Ginny brought back her fist and punched Draco straight into his chin knocking him back towards Ron. Ron jumped aside letting him fall straight onto the floor. People started to gather round and James's who had been watching out through the window came racing outside with Robin and Troy who followed out of curiosity.
Ginny felt as if she was slowly transforming into a giant strawberry as her cheeks heated up and went deep red. The crowd just stood and gawped at her except a few people who saw to Draco. Invidia ran back down Knockturn Alley.
"Go, Mum!" James burst out.
Ginny looked at Harry. "Can we get away from here please?" she begged.
"Yep, lets go." He put his arm around her and they walked off down to the Leaky Cauldron with the twins following leaving Ron, Hermione and Troy. Eleanor came rushing out of the shop, she spotted Draco on the floor and ran to her husband.
"What 'appened? 'onestly, I leave you for less that two seconds and someone dies!"
"What was all that about?" Harry hissed. Ginny stared up at him guiltily.
"You two, your Dad and I need to talk, here..." She took out a leather purse. "Go get some ice-cream."
Robin and James walked off looking very confused.
"Well?"
"I don't know how to say this but..." She bit her lip. "A long time ago, a very long time ago, me and... me and Draco kinda, well..."
"Please don't tell me you slept with him..." He suddenly found it very hard to breathe.
"I was drunk... VERY drunk!" Tears streamed down her face. "It was a stupid mistake, I'm sorry, so so sorry..."
Harry stepped away from her shaking his head. "And you never thought to tell me..." he whispered. Ginny stared at the floor. The look on Harry's face broke her heart.
"I'm sorry..." she breathed.
"YOU NEVER TOLD ME!" Harry shouted looking furiously at his wife.
"Harry I love you." She looked up at him. "You still love me, don't you? Don't you?"
Silence.
"Harry?" Ginny brought out her hand to touch his arm but he stepped back. Tears crept out of his eyes and slowly dribbled down his cheeks. "Harry?"
"When?" he replied bluntly.
"Erm, it was at the Christmas pub crawl."
"But we were together then..."
"No, you were with me and Cho."
"Oh, so that makes it all right then does it?" he snapped.
"Of course not... I was lonely, drunk. He was there..."
"I was there..."
"No, you were snogging Cho in front of my face!"
"You always try and shift the blame on me don't you!?"
"Yeah, well I don't exactly feel great about it either! Do you know how crap it made me feel when you stood there, right in front of me, with Cho beaming up at you as if you were Jesus!"
"Well, just try and see it from my point of view, my wife is shagging a Malfoy! Can't get much worse than that now can it!?" He spat out his words like arrows and Ginny heard every syllable like a knife stabbing her in the back.
Invidia strode down Knockturn Alley, pushing past old hags trying to sell mysterious things in jars. She marched into what looked like a normal book shop but walked through a solid wall! As you have probably already guessed, this was no ordinary wall but was a hologram. She was in a small apothecary with a very small bearded wizard pouring a thick steaming black liquid into a test tube connected to all sorts of tubes running into different jars and liquids. In the corner of the room sat a woman in a tight black dress down to her feet. She had black sleek hair down to her waist and dark red lips. Around her neck she wore a silver pendant holding a glowing red stone. She stood up when Invidia came in.
"What are you doing here, someone might have seen you..." she said hoarsely.
"It's father, a Weasley punched him."
"A Weasley?" She looked livid. "Why would one of those runts hit Draco?"
"I don't know," Invidia looked around. "All I saw was an ugly woman with luminous hair..."
"Ginny Weasley?" her mother interrupted.
"Whatever..."
"Where is she now?"
"Probably gone off with Harry Potter..." She watched her mother's already angry face twist in fury.
"Harry Potter?" She marched over to her daughter making small clicking noises from her heeled shoes, "I should have known. Come on, let's go."
"But, Mother..."
"What?"
"The potion." She jerked her head at the small wizard.
She sighed and strode over to the wizard and told him to have it delivered as soon as possible.
"Yes, Mrs. Malfoy, as you wish," he muttered.
"What was all that about?" Robin asked James while paying for their flavour changing ice creams.
He shrugged his shoulders.
"Lets go back." Robin widened her eyes.
"No, Mum wants us away, I bet they're discussing a mega birthday party!"
"Yeah, and they'd really be talking about that when Mum just basically killed someone!" she replied sarcastically.
"Shut up, I'm trying not to think about it..."
"I'm glad she did it, he deserved it. You know he did." She licked her ice cream. It was now strawberry.
"Yeah, did you see that girl?" He wrinkled his nose after biting a big chunk of pepper flavoured ice cream.
"Invidia?"
"Yeah."
"She looked just like they all do."
"Who?" James smiled after watching his sister taste mustard flavour.
"All Malfoys!" She coughed.
Harry's bitter tears rolled down off his chin, staining his blue shirt with wet patches. He made his way to the crowd surrounding Draco. He suddenly felt so angry with Draco and hated him more than ever before. He felt sick knowing that the one person he had ever loved had betrayed him in the worst possible way.
Draco's wife Alicia was standing by him muttering under he breath. She is definitely someone you do not want to come across on a dark night! Her shiny black hair hung down, pin straight. Invidia saw Harry walking up, his eyes looked murderous. She smirked and whispered something up at Alicia. Alicia turned her head sharply and glared at Harry. Draco sat up slowly, his head thumping and his chin red and swollen.
"Finally, you're awake!" Alicia stared down at her husband.
"Hello to you too, darling!" he smirked.
"You look a state. Let me clean you up before Potter sees you. I don't want that kind of scum looking better than you!" She pointed her wand at his chin and shot out a few silver sparks. He felt his chin go back to its normal size.
"He could never look better than me!" he muttered.
Hermione, who was sitting on a wall waiting for Harry ran over to him when she saw him. "What happened?"
"I suppose you knew then?" he growled.
"Sorry." She bit her lip. "But, don't do anything stupid..."
"What? Like she did!" He looked at Draco. " I bet they're all having a right old laugh."
"Harry, she loves you, it's in the past..." Harry strode over to Draco.
"You bastard!" Harry hissed. Draco smiled and stood up.
"There there, Harry Potter! Not in front of the children!" Invidia smirked as Robin and James walked up.
"You two, go back!" Harry pointed his finger towards the Leaky Cauldron.
"But, Dad..."
"GO!"
The twins stormed off.
"Harry!" Hermione ran up to him.
"You can go as well," he snapped. Draco watched them all looking very pleased with himself.
"Listen to me, don't let him win..." Hermione pleaded.
"He's already won," he muttered.
"No, he's not. He's only won when you ruin your marriage, when you make a complete fool of yourself..."
"Like Ginny already has!" He looked away.
"Yes, OK, like Ginny, but listen..." She grabbed his shoulders forcing him to look at her.
"What?" he snapped.
" It's in the past, at least twelve years ago, you love each other. That's all that matters."
"Well, then she should have told me in the first place."
"Yes, she should but don't even try and tell me you've never kept a secret from her. She's ashamed of herself. Please don't wreck everything!"
"Why does nobody understand, that I've done NOTHING wrong. SHE'S the one who... who..." Harry's eyes stung.
"Yes, I know, but just try to understand that Draco Malfoy is not worth it, OK?" she said sympathetically.
Silence.
"OK?" Hermione bit her lip.
"Yes, I know." He looked into her worried eyes. "Thanks..."
She smiled and gave him a big hug that took him slightly by surprise! "I think you'd better say something to Robin and James." They were sitting on a wall looking very moody.
"Yeah." He walked over to them leaving Hermione standing alone in the street.
She heard a slow clapping behind her so she turned around and saw Draco.
"Well done. Once again it's up to a little mudblood to sort out the Potter family! Bravo!" he said sarcastically.
Hermione walked over to him and hissed in his ear, "I've hit you once Draco Malfoy so do not think I won't do it again!" He smirked as she stormed off and went over to Alicia and Invidia.
