Author's Note:
Thanks to all of those who reviewed my story. This is my first fic so I really need to know what you think. The more reviews I get, the faster I make the next chapter. I promise that the chapter after next is when things will start to get interesting, so bear with me. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. If you E-mail me include a subject because I don't open mail that is from an unfamiliar address without a subject. This chapter has almost no point but I just thought I'd include it so you could have something new while I work on the darker chapters to come.

Chapter: 3 Making Peace with Snape (for the summer anyway)

That evening Harry sat in Snape's sitting room doing his Defense Against the Dark Arts homework, and didn't even notice when Snape entered the room. So you can imagine how shocked Harry was when he laid his essay down so he could think.

Harry just stared at Snape for a moment wondering how long Snape had been in the room. Snape was obviously aware of the fact that he was being watched So he looked over at Harry.

"What is it, Potter? I can't read with you staring at me like I have three heads!"

Harry Immediately felt stupid, "I, Err, that is, I... I would like to know what you think of my DADA essay. If it isn't too much trouble that is."

Snape heaved himself up and walked over to were Harry was sitting and snatched the parchment out of Harry's hands. The essay was on the activities of Grindelwald and his downfall.

Snape stood there a moment reading before saying "Oh yes Potter I can learn a lot about this essay" Snape said sarcastically "Do you expect everyone ever to read this essay, which will definitely be a low number, to know how Grindelwald's followers went around without being arrested by the ministry. Which I imagine wouldn't be that hard."

Harry chuckled at this last line. Snape thrust the parchment back at Harry before walking away as silently as he had come.

Harry decided against his better judgment to take Snape's advice. It took him awhile but when he was done even Harry had to admit that the essay was a lot better. Harry looked at the watch on the mantelpiece, it was 10:30pm. Harry picked up his things and walked back to his room. As Harry laid down in his bed, he had an idea about how to make peace with Snape, for the summer anyway.

Then next morning Harry woke up unusually early, it was time to put operation: peacemaker into action.

Harry quickly got dressed and crept out of his room. He silently walked down the corridor, back into the common room. He looked around and saw another passageway.

Harry walked down the passageway. He spied a door to the left, which held a dining room. Harry walked a little further down the hall and finally found a door leading to a small kitchen.

Harry opened one of the cupboards to find that Snape had enchanted all of the food so that it would maintain its respectable temperature.

Harry grabbed an egg carton and located a frying pan but Harry didn't see a burner. He set the pan down with the eggs in it on the counter to think.

A cracking sound brought Harry out of his thoughts and looked just in time to see two eggs cooking themselves in the pan. Harry lifted the pan off of the counter and slowly touched it. It wasn't hot.

Harry shrugged thinking, "Whatever works." The eggs had just finished cooking themselves when Snape walked in.

Snape stopped dead in his tracks. "What, may I inquire are you doing, Potter?"

Harry looked up at him. "I made you breakfast, Professor."

Snape just looked at him like he was crazy. "Well, you put yourself to work for no reason. Dumbledore is sending one of the house-elves to do the cooking... There goes my chance of poisoning you," Snape added with a smirk.

Harry glanced at him wondering if he was kidding. There was an odd silence which was broken by Harry, "Maybe I've poisoned the eggs to see if you could make a proper antidote."

Snape glared at him and stormed out of the room. "That went well," Harry thought. This was going to be a long summer.
