The Seventh Year
Punky_Fawkes
- Story Summary:
- It's the second and third chapters to 'The Seventh Year'. Ron's thoughts, Hermione's thoughts, and graduation.
Chapter 01
- Chapter Summary:
- This is a short work I thought up in study hall. It's the things that Harry, Ron and Hermione are thinking about on their last day of school. Right now it's just Harry's thoughts. It's a Song-fic based on the song 'You Belong to Me'. So if you have the Shrek soundtrack and then go to song eight, then that's the song.

It was the seventh year's final day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was raining outside, so nobody was playing with the giant squid in the lake or lounging in the warm June sun.
Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, all of Gryffindor House, were sitting in the common room. Hermione's bushy brown hair was drenched from running back from Hagrid's, and she was trying to catch her breath.
Harry's glasses were beginning to unfog themselves from the cool of the castle, and his messy jet-black hair was dripping with water, giving it a glazed effect.
Ron. Well, Ron's ginger hair was matted down and there was a streak of mud across his face. His eyes were still adjusting to the light.
And all three of them were silent. They couldn't think of anything to say, even though there was so much to be said. Harry wanted to say how much he was going to miss his girlfriend, Ginny Weasley. Ron wanted to say how much he was going to miss his girlfriend, Hermione, and wanted she and Harry to come to the Burrow over the summer (Harry was thinking that he wanted to come and visit the Weasley's, too). And Hermione was thinking about how much she was going to miss Ron and Harry and all of her classes.
But they all had one though that was shared between the three of them. One of the Gryffindor seventh years had been listening to a radio on the way to Hogwarts at the beginning of the year, and had heard a song that fit them perfectly, called You Belong To Me. That song was running though the Trio's heads...
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sun rise from a tropic isle
Just remember darling all the while
You belong to me...
In Harry's mind, visions of second year, when he rescued Ginny from the Chamber of Secrets. Third year, when he found out that he had a godfather, Sirius Black, who was a convict accused of a crime he didn't commit. Fourth year, when he was mysteriously entered into the Triwizard Tournament and had come face to face with Lord Voldemort, the evil man - no, make that creature - whom killed his parents and gave Harry the lighting bolt scar on his forehead that he was famous for.
But there were two events that stood out clearer than the rest: his first year at Hogwarts, where Hagrid, the gentle giant, came and told Harry that he was one of the most famous wizards in the world. How he was whisked away to Hogwarts, and how he met Ron and Hermione. They had had their first adventure that year, when they found out that there was a giant three-headed dog named Fluffy on the third floor, guarding the Sorcerer's Stone.
And the other thought was when he and Ginny had kissed. Oh, what a sweet kiss it was. It had only been last year, after one year of dating. It was sort of a...spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. They were cold, wet, tired, and scared of the events that had been going on. And it just...happened. Harry had leaned in close and kissed Ginny square on the lips. Ginny didn't react. She didn't move away, she didn't ask what it was for. She just kissed him back. It had been one of the best times in Harry's lonesome years...
