Lily Evans and James Potter: a Legendary Hogwarts couple

Narrator: Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry has seen many legendary couples come through its halls. Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff, Lucile Ball and Ricky Ricardo, Lavern and Shirley, King Arthur and Queen Guinevere, Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere, Merlin and the Witch of the North, and Tom Green and Drew Barrymore. But perhaps the most important couple to come through its halls is Lily Evans and James Potter. No not because they gave birth to the wizarding world's savior against the dark Lord Voldemort but because of the intriguing story behind this couple's coming together and also James' history of being the most stubborn man at Hogwarts. I, your esteemed Narrator, shall now narrate the tale of Lily Evans and James Potter: a legendary Hogwarts Couple.

We join the couple in question in the Gryffindor common room. They are fighting and James' friends Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew (A.K.A: The Marauders) are watching them amusedly from the sidelines. Sirius seems to be enjoying this row because he has a particularly huge tub of popcorn sitting on the floor next to him which he is sharing with Remus.

Lily: JAMES POTTER I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! YOU ARE THE MOST INSUFFERABLE GIT I HAVE EVER HEARD OF!

James: But you have heard of me.

Lily: [glares daggers at James] HOW DARE YOU MAKE A MOCKERY OF ME AND IN FRONT OF DUMBLEDORE NO LESS! YOU ARE A PRAT, A GIT, AND I BLOODY REGRET THEY BLOODY DAY I BLOODY MET YOU BLOODY SON OF A COW! [Storms off up the spiraling stairs and into the seventh year girl's dormitory, slamming the door after her.]

James: [winces as the door slams and turns to look at his friends]

Sirius: [Stuffs a large handful of popcorn in his mouth] It's a record mate...

Remus: [Interrupts Sirius] Sirius, don't talk with you mouth full. You really have the worst manners.

Sirius: [Swallows the popcorn] Five rows with Lily in a week. I believe you just broke your own record. Wormtail?

Peter (Wormtail): [Takes out a little note pad and flips through the pages stopping at one and reading its contents.] Yes, Padfoot, you are most certainly correct he has broken that record and the record for the most insults thrown at one person during a row.

Remus: [Rolls his eyes.] Shut it you two or I'll be forced to get the muzzles!

Sirius (Padfoot) and Peter: [cower in a corner] No not the muzzles...We'll be quite....

James: [sits in an armchair] I shouldn't provoke Lily like that. It'll just ruin my chances at getting with her. [Puts his head in his hands and closes his eyes becoming the very picture of a woeful man]

Remus: Oh stop it James. You're becoming the very picture of a woeful man. Now who are you at what have you done with Prongs? The Prongs I knew would never let himself become the very picture of a woeful man! The Prongs I knew would never let a little row with Lily get him down or discourage him.

James (Prongs): [Shakes his head and looks up to Remus] Moony, It's really hard not to let myself get discouraged. You heard her. She regrets the day she ever met me.

Remus (Moony): I heard her but that's never stopped you before now has it? No it hasn't. That's why you've been named the most Stubborn man at Hogwarts. Because you don't give up easily! Now are we going to go plan out a scheme to get you Lily?

James: [Smiles] YEAH!

Remus: [Smiles] Okay, now let's get to work!

Narrator: They planned the rest of the night with help from Sirius and Peter. When the first signs of the sunrise shown they were done with their fool proof plan that would be carried out that same day.

GREAT HALL AT BREAKFAST

Narrator: We now join our hero's fellow Marauders eating breakfast in the Great Hall. Oh look here, our Heroin has decided to grace us with her presence. Lily sits herself next to Remus which was not by choice but it was actually the last spot left in the Gryffindor table. Lily didn't mind though as Remus was the most Tolerable of the Marauders.

Remus: Why good morning to you, Lily. Aren't you supposed to be meeting with James and Professor McGonagall?

Lily: [Starts to serve herself scrambled eggs] I thought I had to but I received an owl this morning saying that it was cancelled. Well, I wasn't going to go anyway. I didn't want to be stuck in the same room with Potter this morning and especially not with a teacher around. I didn't want to lose points for performing an unauthorized lobotomy.

Remus: [Chuckles as he puts ketchup on his sausages]

Narrator: The doors to the Great Hall swing open and in walks Severus Snape leading a crowd of Slytherins. All of them are wearing Medieval like clothes. The two guys behind Snape were carrying banners that are scarlet and had "Lily Evans" embroidered in gold. They all walked to the front of the Great Hall and stood in a line in front of the staff table. Snape stepped forward and produced a scroll of Parchment from his breast coat's pocket.

Snape: [Reading from the scroll] Hear ye, hear ye! We are here to announce that Miss Lily Evans has a secret admirer. He wishes to notify her that there she shall be receiving gifts every hour this day. He also wishes to notify her that if she would like to know who he is she can meet him in the Astronomy tower at the time she receives with her last present.

Narrator: Four of the guys in the line take out long necked horns and play a few notes like in medieval times when someone's just announced something important. Then the Slytherins' clothes all turned into their normal uniforms and they all sat back down at their table. The banners and horns disappeared too. Lily sat there in shock and didn't notice the three Marauders exchange handshakes and congratulatory whispers.

Lily: Who could've done this? And sending me gifts every hour?

Narrator: When Lily finished her last statement an owl flew into the Great Hall, dropped a small parcel in front of Lily's plate and flew of back the way it came.

Remus: [Eyes the package knowingly and nudges Lily] Well open it, woman! Don't keep us waiting!

Lily: [nods and unwraps the package] Oh wow...

Narrator: Lily held in her hands a small music box. She opened it and saw that inside there was a couple dancing. The girl took an extreme likeness to Lily and the boy she couldn't tell what he looked like because his face was masked. At that time all of the girls sitting close to Lily sighed and those with boyfriends hit their boyfriends and said "Why can't YOU be more like that?" A little paper fell out of the box and into Lily's lap. Lily took the paper and handed it to Remus so that he could read it out loud.

Remus: [Reading from the note] My Dearest Lily. What you are holding in your hands is a love box. It shows the couple it was created for dancing. I decided to keep my figure masked to hold the secret of my identity and it shall stay masked until tonight, when I reveal myself to you. Love your secret admirer.

Lily: [Sighs and smiles at the box as she closes it] How terribly romantic! I wish I knew who he was so that I could thank him properly...

Narrator: Once again, Lily was off into her own little world and she didn't notice the Marauders exchange pompous handshakes and congratulatory whispers.

Remus: [smiling at Lily's display of enjoyment] well anyway we better get going or we'll be late to Transfiguration.

Lily: [Nods and follows the Marauders out of the Great Hall]

Narrator: The rest of the day past with Lily receiving every hour on the hour gifts from her secret admirer. She received a dozen crystal roses, a miniature ballerina who really danced on her palm, a necklace which hung a pendant that was inscribed with "My heart is yours", a book of charms, a charm bracelet, a book of poems, and a pair of dragonfly barrettes. Her last gift came during dinner. Lily smiled as she saw the owl who had delivered all her previous gifts fly into the Great Hall and drop her last present, a large parcel, in front of her. She unwrapped the parcel without hesitation and found that inside there was a black dress with roses embroidered on to it. Lily picked up the note that lie on top of the dress eagerly and read it to Remus aloud.

Lily: [reading from the note] my dearest Lily. The time has come for you and me to finally meet face to face. I cannot guaranty that you'll like who you see before you but please meet me in the Astronomy Tower at 10:00 this evening. Love your secret admirer.

Remus: [nods to Sirius and Peter and stands with them] Well now Lily we'll have to be going now. We have to see a man about a plan. Good luck with your secret admirer! Hope you like who he is! [Follows Sirius and Peter out of the Great Hall]

Lily: [Stands up and carefully picks up the dress and the note. She leaves the Great Hall to go get ready to meet her secret admirer]

Narrator: Lily stands in the Astronomy Tower wearing the dress and all the jewellery that her secret admirer had given her. She's looking up at the stars when someone came up behind her and covered her eyes.

Someone: [whispering in to Lily's ear] Guess who.

Lily: [A look of recognition passes over her face and whispers] James?

James: [Uncovers her eyes and gently moves her so she faces him] I told you I couldn't guaranty that you would like the person you see.

Lily: [Shakes her head] but I do like the person I see. You've shown me a different side of you to that I would have other wise never seen. [Puts a hand on his cheek] Oh, James!

James: [Slides his arms around her waist and pulls her closer to him] Lily, may I kiss you?

Lily: [nods]

Narrator: And kiss they did and it was so intense th--

James: [Interrupting the Narrator] Okay, Dude, I know I payed you to narrate this story but we'd like a little bit of privacy right now

Narrator: oh sorry [walks to the door]

James: [Slams the door in his face]

Narrator: And the rest, as they say is history my dears. Lily and James were married and they gave birth to the wizarding world's saviour, Harry Potter. They were killed by Lord Voldemort, who was informed of the Prophecy told by Sybil Trelawny and acted on it. Now my dears, we have come to the end of our story and I leave you with this one line.

[Singing] Its closing time, you don't have to go home but you sure as hell can't stay here.
