Marauder Notes

It was time for Charms. Once again, James found himself bored. He wasn't the best at Charms either, but he couldn't help but notice that it was Lily's best subject. However, on this day, the seventh year Gryffindors were taking a Charms quiz, and once finished, James decided to continue writing notes to his friends. It would help pass the time, and he wanted to find out where Peter had been in History of Magic.

James: Hey.

Remus: Hi.

Sirius: Yo.

Peter: Hello.

Sirius: Wormtail! You're back!

Peter: Yes.

James: Did the Slytherin's get you?

Peter: Yeah....

Remus: Tsk, tsk. We must do something about this. You know what I'm thinking, Padfoot?

Sirius: Indeed I do, Moony, my man.

James actually squealed out loud at this, and a couple people who were still working on their tests turned to glare at him.

James: Oh goodie! Prank on the Slytherins!

Peter: Um, okay.

Remus: Awesome, we'll plan it in the dormitory tonight, okay?

James: Not okay, we plan it now.

Remus: Oh. All right.

James: I say we charm their clothing this time.

Sirius: Make it flash different colors, maybe?

James: Yeah, and with messages on the back. Snape's will be really embarrassing... Hehehe.

Remus: Prongs, do you think Lily would approve of that?

James: Probably not. But if we do it to all of Slytherin, she won't notice I did it to Snape... right?

Remus: Uh, no.

Sirius: Hey, where is Lily anyway?

James scanned the room.

James: Over there by the window next to Bella.

Sirius: Oh... Bella....

Remus: What about her?

Sirius: Erm, she's Lily's friend, right?

James: Only since first year. Padfoot, you're dense.

Sirius: And you're not nice!

James: Whatever.

Peter: I'll stay out of this.

Sirius: Fifty, forty-nine, forty-eight, forty-seven....

Remus: Why are you counting?

Sirius: Thirty-five, thirty-four, thirty-three....

James: Who knows. Look at him, though!

James and Remus looked over at Sirius who was muttering under his breath and staring at the door intently. James and Remus exchanged glances and raised their eyebrows. Suddenly, Sirius started to squirm in his seat.

"Three, two, ONE!" He shouted just as the bell rang. He zoomed out of the room at light speed, laughing maniacally. The whole class stared after him for a moment, perplexed and blinking.

James shook his head. "We should have known. He can't resist lunch, eh?"

"Er, James?" Remus said, as the students began to file out of the class.

"What?" He asked, still staring after Sirius, although he was long gone.

"We've already had lunch." Remus pointed out.

"Oh. I guess you're right. He must have forgotten." James ruffled his hair as Lily walked passed, and then mentally scolded himself for doing so. Lily hated it when he ruffled his hair.

"Bye, Lily. See you, Bella," he called after them. Lily ignored him, but her friend, a pretty girl with long, dark brown hair, turned and waved.

"Well, let's go get Sirius. He's probably eagerly sitting in the Great Hall waiting for food to appear." Remus said. Peter nodded in agreement.

"Poor thing," James said. "Possessed by the powers of food."

Remus raised his eyebrows at him. "Aren't you the one who ate five helpings of everything at breakfast this morning?"

"Oh, yeah...."
