The Consequences of Sherbet

James was walking thought the crowded streets of London. People were bustling about, animals were seated in their respectful places and shop owners were looking distraught as children broke their stock. He was looking for a certain somebody with fiery red hair and a temper to match. Lily was a nice girl, but she just didn't feel the same way about James as he did -her. He was about to give up looking when somebody tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hello, Jamsie-poo!" the girl called merrily.

She was shorter than James but her attitude made her just as threatening. She had long white-blonde hair and dark pink eyes. Not many normal people had pink eyes but this girl did. It was an accident with a wand, at birth, which caused this abnormality. Her red dress was figure-hugging and she was very pretty.

"Lolly, I told you to stop calling me that," he retorted with a smile.

"All the better to annoy you with, my dear," she growled.

James and Lolly were like that when together. They would play around like four year olds but could snap back to normal whenever needed. The two were almost brother and sister. Lolly explained how she felt bad about leaving Lily to go with the Marauders by herself, so she escaped the grasp of her parents so she could keep Lily company.

"Have you seen Remus?" she asked innocently.

Remus and Lolly had been together for almost three months now. Although she tried to hide it and would never admit it, Lolly liked Remus a lot. Maybe even loved him. The same way James loved Lily.

"Well, I'm looking for him now," James admitted.

As they walked through the markets, James explained to Lolly the situation. How Sirius and he ran away from Remus and Lily and how Sirius had stopped talking and was in urgent need of attention.

"I can find them quick," Lolly squealed. She lifted up her wrist, revealing a thin gold bangle. She gently blew on it and a deep chime rang through their ears.

"Wow!" James exclaimed as the bangle glowed pink. In less than a few minutes, Remus and Lily turned up.

"Lolly!" cried Lily and the two friends hugged.

Once they had separated, Lolly ran to Remus and gave him a hug. Remus picked her up and spun her around. James noticed Lily watching them as they kissed.

What is the look she is giving them? Jealousy? No, definitely not, James thought.

"Hey, Lily!" greeted James. Lily scowled and walked back over to Lolly. James' heart tightened.

"Hi, James." Remus smiled at him and they high fived.

James explained the situation to Remus and Lily. They both gave him a scolding look and the group set off in search of Sirius. But they couldn't find him anywhere. They looked over all the streets but none of them looked quite like the one James left Sirius in. They were about to give up, but just at that moment, another familiar face made an appearance.
