Ch. One
The train ride was long but Harry Potter and his friends, Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger had gotten used to it. This was their sixth year at Hogwarts and they were all quite excited to be coming back. The one thing Harry missed the most at Hogwarts was Quidditch, a wizarding sport played on flying broomsticks. Harry and Ron talked quietly while Hermione had her nose stuck in a book. This was typical Hermione behavior. Harry was willing to bet all the money in his vault at Gringotts (the wizards bank) that the one thing she missed at Hogwarts was the library.
With an abrupt stop they had arrived in Hogsmeade, a town made complete up of wizards and witches. Harry looked over to see a familiar face calling for the first year students. This was Hagrid, a giant of a man with a thick black beard and thick black hair. He was a scary sight to anyone who did not know him. Hagrid was soft at heart and had a strange love for abnormal creatures, such as his three-headed dog 'Fluffy'. He waved at Harry, Ron, and Hermione then continued to gather the scared first years. Harry remembered his first sight of Hogwarts out on the great lake that surrounds the school grounds.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione made their way to the horseless carriages that would bring them to the school. "Harry, guys wait up!" called two voices in unison. They turned and waved at two other sixth year Gryffindors, Chelsea Faith and Jessica Pickering. Both girls were Americans transferred from the Wizarding School in California, Dimethicone. Sara, Jessica's twin sister, also came to Hogwarts but was put into the Slytherin house.
"Hey Potter," called the cold voice of his worst enemy, Draco Malfoy, "I see you are still with those losers.' He said eyeing Ron and Hermione, then his eyes drifted to Jessica and Chelsea, "at least you still have some good friends." Harry sensed the only reason Malfoy was not insulting Jessica because of the girl on his arm. Sara Pickering, Jessica's almost identical match. Sara was not as bad as all the other Slytherins; she liked Harry and all his friends. They weren't exactly friends but they were 'ok'.
"Draco," Sara replied, "Come on lets go and find a carriage." She pulled him along, still sneering, and smiled a good bye to them.
"I don't see how such a nice person like your sister could be going out with such a rotten person." Ron said with a strong sense of loathing in his voice. They all nodded in agreement.
"Well, Ron remember they way she was last--" Harry started, but didn't dare to finish for the look Jessica was giving him could have killed him then and there.
Within minutes they were walking up the stairs to the Great Hall. They saw Professor McGonagall preparing the first years for the Sorting Ceremony. The Great Hall was decorated with elaborate banners each showing the animal of the house they represented.
The large doors swung open and in walked the first year students. Terrified and extremely nervous, they made their way up to the front of the hall. Harry and Ron looked at each one as if trying to determine which would be coming to join them at the Gryffindor table. The whole ceremony took no more than fifteen minutes. Gryffindor received five new students, Alex Spence, Sandra Shift, Brent Strong, Erin Rolder, and Elizabeth Saxon.
All the new students were pale and nervous. Hermione made a point of having the newcomers sit next to her, as if to help them to feel better. Harry rolled his eyes and looked up to see Colin Creevy waving to him. Harry nodded a hello to Colin, who was Harry's biggest fan.
The kind headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore, stood up to deliver the usual welcome speech to the new students. "Let the feast begin!" he said with a smile. This was Ron's favorite part of the first night back. He grabbed two chicken legs, one for each hand. Hermione ate and talked to the new students who were still in awe about their food just appearing on the plates in front of them.
The feast was over too soon for Ron's liking and it was time to go up to the dorms and unpack. Hermione, being the Prefect, had to show the first years around the school. Ron and Harry walked slowly up the stairs to the boys' dormitory. The sign read 6th Years. It was like a welcome home sign for Harry. He loved Hogwarts and was always at home here. He opened his trunk and began to pull all his belongings out of it. He picked up his wand and started to play with it.
"Aveso inviso!" he pointed the wand at Ron's bed. It turned invisible and giving Harry the reaction he wanted, Ron screeched with fear.
"Harry!" he screamed, "turn it back!" he yelled with the sudden fear leaving his voice. When the bed returned to normal, Ron threw a pillow at Harry hitting him right in the face.
That night Harry had the best sleep he could've ever hoped for. It was a long and dreamless sleep, peaceful. Today was the start of classes. He picked up the schedule he received the night before. To his disappointment Potions was first, with the one teacher who loathed him even more than his worst student enemy, Draco Malfoy, Severus Snape. Snape was tall, thin with an abnormally large nose; his greasy black hair was always slicked back. He reminded Harry of a rat. Snape's hatred for Harry went all the way back to Harry's father, whom had played a nasty trick on Snape but ended up having to save his life. A strange reason to loath him, or so Harry thought.
Today they were learning about a very complicated potion; polyjuice. Harry, Ron, and Hermione already knew how to make this certain one. This potion could turn you in to another person, of your choice for up to one hour. They had used it to help them solve the mystery of the Heir of Slytherin. Snape went around insulting everyone's efforts, especially Neville Longbottom's as this was common, that is except for the Slytherins of course. He favored them. Harry knew it had to be the fact that he was a Slytherin when he went to Hogwarts and because he was now head of the Slytherin house.
"Look at the excellent work Miss Pickering and Mr. Malfoy are doing!" He of course was talking about Sara because he would never compliment a Gryffindor. Sara smiled and got right back to work. Jessica smirked at the proud look on her twins face.
As soon as Snape wasn't looking, Malfoy and his two minions Crabbe and Goyle were throwing things at Harry, Ron, Hermione, Jessica, and Chelsea. Harry knew if he said anything to Snape the story would be turned around and he would end up in trouble.
When the bell finally rang Harry and Jessica made their way to Care Of Magical Creatures. Hagrid taught this class mostly because of his love for strange creatures. Hagrid had a three-headed dog that was kept in the school. Once it was used to guard the Sorcerer's Stone. A mystical rock that could turn any metal into gold and could kept the user alive with a substance called The Elixir of Life.
"'Arry, 'ows yer day goin'?" Hagrid called over to Harry and Jessica. "Now which one are ya? I can't tell the difference between ya and yer sis, ya know!"
Jessica smiled," I'm Jessica." They walked over and took a seat on the grass.
Today they were learning about Feather-Tailed Cameladies. Which looked to be a mixture of a swan and a horse. It had the head of a swan, with the body of a horse, and large white wings. The lesson was very interesting. (These creatures reminded Harry a lot of Buckbeak; the Hippogriff who was now living with Sirius, as both were on the run from the law.) They learned how to keep and take care of the creatures, and what to do when you came across a wild one. Hagrid's eyes danced as he spoke, Harry knew he was so happy to be a teacher. Teaching his most favorite subject also added to Hagrid's glee.
At lunch Hermione pointed out that her rival, Pansy Parkinson, whom it was well know to have a crush on Draco Malfoy, did not seem too thrilled to see Sara and Draco together. Her usually pink face looked blood red as she watched Sara and Malfoy kiss. Sara, knowing this angered her, made sure to giggle loudly. As though she could not take the jealousy any more, she stormed up to the pair.
"Sara, I am challenging you to a duel. After dinner meet me in the abandoned bathroom!"
Sara showed no fear and replied, "Sure Pansy whatever," she grabbed Pansy's arm as she walked away, " but first one thing." She punched her in the jaw. "I'll meet you there hon." She smiled as Pansy walked away embarrassed, and then turned her attention back to Malfoy who kissed her cheek in approval.
The next couple of days went by as usual, Sara bragging about her beating Pansy at the duel, Snape criticizing Harry and all his friends. The first trip to Hogsmeade was that weekend, and Harry and Ron had a lot planed for while they were there. Harry and Ron were sitting in the Gryffindor Common Room playing chess when Ron's overly excited pet owl "Pig" flew into the room with a small piece of parchment tied to his leg. The parchment was a letter from Harry's godfather, Sirius Black.
Harry,
How are you doing? I hope all is well with you and your friends. I haven't heard much about Voldermort, so scarcely anything to report as of now. I was getting worried, I haven't heard from you in a while. Buckbeak sends his love
Sirius
"Harry, have you found out where Sirius is hiding? Still in Hogsmeade?" Chelsea asked leaning over Harry's shoulder to get a look at the letter. "Maybe we could visit him this weekend."
"I'm not too sure about that Chelsea, but I think he may be somewhere close because I just sent "Pig" out three days ago." Harry folded up the letter, "and besides he won't say, you know just incase the letter is intercepted. I should write him back, but not until I have something really important to tell him."
Just as those words left his mouth Hermione and Jessica ran in through the porthole. Harry noticed Hermione had a vise-like grip on a copy of the Daily Prophet. "Harry," she shrieked, "there has been a You-Know-Who sighting!"
"You-Know-Who" is the dark Lord Voldemort, whom sixteen years earlier was terrorizing both muggles and wizards alike. Voldemort had tried to kill Harry as a baby but the dark lord's spell backfired and caused not only the down fall of "You-Know-Who" but also caused Harry to bare a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. This scar could be used to Harry's advantage, whenever Lord Voldemort was close Harry's scar would burn and cause Harry great pain thus informing him that Voldemort was nearby. Harry had once again escaped Voldermorts clutches in his first and second year, but in a terrible twist of fate Harry, being the one responsible for his downfall, was also the one, in his fourth year, responsible for Voldermort regaining power.
"What do you mean Hermione?" Ron asked, not hiding the fear in his voice.
"Exactly what she said, Ron!" Jessica snapped, "Harry, people have spotted him around London!" Her face looked pale. She sat down trying to control her shaky hands.
Harry knew exactly what he had to do, "We have to talk to Dumbledore! But first I have to write Sirius." Harry pulled out a piece of parchment and quill. He began to write.
Dear Sirius,
Have you heard about Voldermort? He is getting closer to Hogwarts. I am going to talk to Dumbledore and get some things clear. I hope there is a way to stop him from getting here. Other than that we are all doing ok, scared but okay. Hope to see you soon.
Harry
"Ron can I use Pig again?" Harry asked, "I can't use Hedwig that often, you know that."
Ron nodded absent mindedly, obviously scared out of his wits. He sat with his hands placed tightly in his lap. He looked as though he had seen a ghost. "Harry, can we go see Dumbledore now?" Ron looked up at him with pure fear in his eyes.
Harry had only been in Dumbledore's office three times before. A large stone gargoyle guarded to the door. Harry knew he needed a password to get in but like most of the doors in the castle the password changed every week.
"Umm... sea monkey?" The gargoyle did not move one inch.
"How about, jelly belly," said a soft kind voice. Harry turned to see Dumbledore standing behind him. "Hello Harry, I assume you are here to talk to me about Voldermort."
Harry nodded and walked in to the small but welcoming room. "Hello Fawkes," Harry said petting the beautiful phoenix that was perched on Dumbledore's chair. "Sir are we safe here? I mean he has gotten here before and..." Dumbledore put up his hand to stop Harry.
"My dear boy, we are all perfectly safe here. No worries, ok?"
Harry smiled and accepted the lemon drop Dumbledore offered him.
Above all Harry trusted Dumbledore. He knew that Dumbledore was the only wizard Voldermort ever feared. He left his office feeling a lot better than before, that was until he realized he was late for Transfigurations.
"Sorry I'm late Professor, I was speaking with Professor Dumbledore and I sort of lost track of time." Harry replied while taking his seat.
"That is quite all right Mr. Potter. I understand, we are all concerned. Please take out your text book." She turned to the chalk bored and began to write the lesson. "Now class as I was saying to change an inanimate object that resembles a living thing in to that specific object is a relatively easy process." She went on to explain the techniques of this as she called it "easy" process. It seemed as though nobody was paying much attention to Professor McGonagall, that was except for Hermione. Everyone was to busy talking in hurried whispers about The You-Know-Who sighting.
When the weekend finally came Harry and Ron boarded the horseless carriage, Hermione, Jessica, and Chelsea walked up slowly, with concern on their faces. They were obviously still worried about Voldermort. Jessica stopped to talk to her sister and Malfoy, and then joined the rest.
"Jessica, why are you the only Gryffindor Malfoy tolerates?" Ron asked when she sat next to him. She just smiled and shrugged. They arrived at Hogsmead in almost five minutes. Immediately they went to Honeydukes and bought as much candy as their pockets would carry. Their next stop was the Three Broomsticks for some butterbeer, a drink that made any person feel warm all over. The drink felt good going down Harry's throat, it was a nice relief from the worry of Voldermort.
"Harry, what's wrong?" Jessica asked. She and all the others were staring at him.
" It's nothing, I am just thinking about the first Qudditch match, it's coming up." He took a long drink of his butterbeer, looked up and smiled at his friends. Reassured they engaged in a conversation about Snape and the pop quiz he had given them the day before.
At dinner that night, Dumbledore made an announcement that shocked all students third year and up, "The Hogsmeade trips will all be canceled until further notice. "He looked around to see the disappointed looks on the faces of the students. " This is due to the fact that rumor is being spread that Voldermort is coming closer and closer to Hogwarts so we must take every precaution." Students gasped, as it was very unusual to say the name Voldermort. "To make up for that we will once again have a Yule Ball the Monday before Christmas vacation."
Although a Yule Ball was going to be fun it would not make up for the Hogsmead trips the students loved. Harry and Ron looked at each other with great disappointment. "Hey at least he did cancel Quidditch." Ron said picking up his fourth chicken leg. Ron had made the Gryffindor house team in his fifth year as the new keeper. He had replaced Oliver Wood, whom had graduated in Harry's third year. Oliver had also been captain of the team but had been replaced by Summer Manente, a sixth year student. She had booked them a practice after dinner. This was her last year at Hogwarts and she wanted to be sure that they would win the Quidditch Cup.
A quidditch team is made up of seven players, three chasers, one keeper, two beaters, and a seeker. The chasers handle the quaffle, a large red ball used to score points, they try to put it through three large hoops, held on poles 20 feet high. The keeper protects the hoops against the opposing teams chasers. The beaters handle the bludger, a ball that fly's around trying to knock the players off their brooms. Last but not least the seeker, this player may as well be considered the most important player on the entire team. This player has the job of catching the snitch before the other teams seeker. Catching the snitch not only ends the game but also gives the team whose seeker catches it 150 points, usually winning the game.
Ron and Harry made their way down to the locker room. Harry pulled out his beloved Firebolt, a present from Sirius. Ron gave him a smile and pulled out his Nimbus 2000, his most prized possession. Harry understood the pride Ron felt when he rode that broom, Harry also had a Nimbus 2000, but in his third year the Whomping Willow smashed it to bits. It was then he received the Firebolt.
They saw the other players beginning to gather on the field and rushed down there to meet them. Practice went rather well, if the interruption by Malfoy and his cronies had not happened. Other than that it was the typical Gryffindor practice. Harry was sure if they played the way they had practiced the was no way they would not win the cup. They both made their way back to the common room, exhausted. They saw Jessica and Chelsea talking in the corner. Curious they walked over.
"Hey guys, what are you doing?" Ron asked walking towards them they hardly looked up from their tedious work. They looked up when he reached just beside the table. The look they gave him was not a very welcoming one; Harry could tell he was not wanted.
"Well, Ron we are doing something and I don't think it is really any of your business. When we feel it is time for you to know we will tell you, okay?" Jessica snapped loudly. The two girls walk quickly up to their dorms.
The next morning Harry was surprised to find a large black dog sitting at his bedside. The dog instantly transformed in to Sirius, but the look on his face was not one of delight to se Harry but one of fear. "Harry. I cannot stay long, I must warn you. There have been sightings of Voldermort near the school. I have also been sighted so I must leave as soon as possible. Dementors have been sent, I must leave!"
As if to que, four tall dark figures burst through the doors. Harry tried his hardest to stop them, but it was as though he was cemented to his bed. Harry lay helpless, as the dementor's kiss was being preformed on Sirius.
Ch. 2
"No, Sirius!" Harry screamed trying to reach him in time. Someone had a hold of him, shaking him.
"Harry!" He thought it was Sirius calling for his help, but Sirius couldn't speak, he stood there like a vegetable, showing no emotions and no expression. The shaking continued.
"No Sirius! I have to save Sirius!" Harry struggled to get the strong hands off of him.
"Harry, wake up!" Ron came in to focus, "Harry, you have to wake up! It was just a dream!"
"What?" Harry confused looked around the room, no Sirius, no dementors. He breathed a sigh of relief and lay back down. "What time is it?" He asked Ron.
"Quarter of two, why?" Ron still looked concerned, "You need to relax and stop thinking about You-Know-Who and Sirius, he is fine Harry, and come on now get some sleep." Ron climbed back in to his bed and began to snore softly.
Harry on the other hand could not fall asleep; the vision of a helpless Sirius haunted his mind. He forced his eyes closed but they were forced back open with the sounds of his own horrified voice. He spent the rest of the night in the window watching the moon, and the night fade away into a warm morning glow. The sound of his friends waking up was a comforting sound; at least he wouldn't be alone anymore.
Harry glanced at his breakfast and felt like he was going to be sick. This was the way he felt before all Qudditch games. Colin Creevy was the first to come over and ask for a picture of him in his qudditich robes. Malfoy and Sara approached the Gryffindor table. Draco had a smug look on his face, as he looked Harry up and then down. His eyes drifted to Ron and he let a out a laugh.
"Well, well, well. Potter are you ready for today, you don't look it. I really think you should reconsider today, I mean save yourself the embarrassment." He snickered, and once again looked over the two.
"Harry, don't mind him," Hermione patted him on the shoulder and offered him some poached eggs.
"Why don't you stay out of it mudblood?" Draco snapped. He stuck his pointed nose up at her and walked away, snickering. Sara turned around and shot them an apologetic smile.
" Don't worry Harry, you'll beat Slytherin easy," Jessica replied taking a bite of her toast.
Out of the corner of his eye Harry saw Cho Chang, the Ravenclaw seeker smiling at him. She along with her boyfriend Elijah Bloom came over to wish both Harry and Ron good luck today. Harry felt his ears turn red as she kissed him on the cheek. Harry had a crush on Cho since his third year, she had been dating Hufflepuff seeker Cedric Diggory, until his tragic death two years ago.
"I'll be rooting for you, Harry!" She called as she and Elijah walked away.
Ron and Harry made their way down to the Gryffindor locker room. Summer and the rest of the team were already down there making a game plan. She smiled as they walked in and continued to explain how they were as she put it "so going to win this game". "Okay you all got that? " She said it a very proud voice, "Now go get dressed!"
The entire team was a sight to be marveled. They all looked superb in their red and gold uniforms. The doors to the arena flew open and the blurs of red and green filled the air. Harry looked into the crowd to see Hermione waving her Gryffindor flag proudly, Jessica sitting next to her screaming what looked like "GO HARRY! GO RON!" he smiled and took his position on the field, just above the other players. Across from him Malfoy kept a close watch on his every move. Harry smirked; he knew Malfoy's Nimbus 2001 was no match for his Firebolt. The bludgers were released, the Golden Snitch following right behind. The gold ball flew around Harry's head and then shot towards Malfoy. Both knew the Snitch could not be caught until the game began.
Madame Hootch lifted the Quaffle; she looked up in to the faces of the players and said, "Remember, keep it clean out there." Gryffindors nodded, Slytherins smirked. She threw the ball in the air and the nicely assembled players, once again turned in to green and red blurs. Harry tried his hardest to pay attention to both the game and the comitation. Lee Jordan shrieked with glee as Gryffindor scored a goal.
"Ten points to Gryffindor!" He roared, " Slytherin in possession, did you just see that?! Those dirty rotten-! Sorry professor." He exclaimed as he ducked out of McGonagall's reach. "It's not my fault they are such cheaters!" Boo's rushed in from the Slytherin stands. "OH shut up, you good for nothing, sons of-"
"Lee, one more time and I'll-" she started
"Nice block by Fred Weasley!" Lee cried in to the megaphone as he struggled to get it away from her. "Come on Summer, come on! YES! Another ten points to Gryffindors!" The crowd cheered and booed as the Slytherins took out Summer with a Bludger.
Harry looked around trying to see the Snitch. He tried not to make it too obvious, he knew Malfoy would follow. A shinning caught his attention for a moment, until he realized it was Colin snapping pictures of him. He flew around a little more not spotting it, Malfoy close behind. Lee complained as Slytherin knocked out Ron with one of their beater clubs. Fred and George got some revenge when they hit one of their chasers in the back of the head.
"Go Fred and George!" Lee cheered! "Oh looked the cheaters actually scored!" The crowd laughed at that one.
This would be a good time to look for the Snitch, Harry thought. He soared around looking for the little gold ball. He saw it! Is broom seemed to obey his thoughts; it flew through the air so swiftly Malfoy could hardly keep up. He sped towards the Snitch, Malfoy catching up to him. He pushed himself to go faster until he felt the small, cool metal ball in his hands; any second now and he would have it. His broom jerked to a stop. He turned to see the one and only Draco Malfoy hanging on to the bristles of his broom.
"Get off, Malfoy! Now!" Harry yelled at the top of his lungs, Malfoy shook his head and gripped the broom tight.
"Professor, do you see what that little rat is doing?" Lee stood up, was jumping up and down on to his seat, yelling profane words in to the megaphone. McGonagall did nothing to stop it, she too looked furious.
Harry kicked at Malfoy's hand. To no avail, his hand did not move. Harry had no choice but to fly with Malfoy attached to his broomstick. He flew toward the Snitch slowly closing the gap between his hands and the little ball. Malfoy finally let of go of him and tried to get in front of Harry.
"Oh my god, professor, did you see that?!" Lee was enraged.
Just as Malfoy was about to grab the Snitch, George shot a Bludger his way knocking him of his broom. Harry smiled and shot him thumbs up. He raced over to the speedy little ball, reached out and wrapped his finger around it. The arena erupted with cheers and screams, everyone was cheering his name. McGonagall stood up and cheered along with Dumbledore, who was clapping politely.
"Gryffindor wins!" Lee shouted above the crowd. He started to do some sort of victory dance.
Harry looked down to see Malfoy glaring up at him! He was shouting something up at him, Harry just smiled and waved.
Harry and Ron walked back up o the school, both sweaty and proud. They heard a loud argument, as they got closer to the Slytherin locker room. Out side they saw, Sara and Malfoy arguing. They inched closer to hear what was being said. "Draco, I don't care! It is just a game! Listen to me, " She pulled his face to hers, "It doesn't matter. Okay, stop being such a baby!"
Ron laughed and walked up to Malfoy, "What's wrong Draco? You sad about losing your little game?" He laughed mockingly.
Sara gave Ron a dirty look and slapped him across the face. "Mind your own business Ron!" She snapped and turned back to Malfoy. She grabbed his hand and the two walked away.
"Wow she sure showed you huh?" Harry said through giggles. Ron shot him a dirty look and began walking up to the castle.
Jessica fell into a fit of rage when she found out what her sister had done to her friend. "I can't believe her! She thinks because she is a Slytherin, she is better than all of us."
"Jess," Chelsea put her hand on her friend's shoulder, "We know Sara isn't really like that, it is just Malfoy's influence." The image of Sara slapping Ron so hard he almost fell over, stuck in Harry's mind. He couldn't help but laugh every few minutes.
Harry and Hermione went down to dinner together, Ron had wanted to stay in the common room, probably still embarrassed. That night the even though it was getting close to Halloween, people began making their plans for the Yule Ball. Harry worked up his courage all through dinner, he had to ask Cho. Hermione was going with her boyfriend, Viktor Krum, Neville was going with Ginny, Jessica with Oliver, Ron with Chelsea, and that left Harry with out a date. His one wish was that Cho would not have a date, and she would agree to go with him. Harry also deep down, knew the she was probably already going with Elijah Bloom. Still as he had done in his fourth year he walked right up to her and asked, sure enough she was going with Elijah, but she promised to save him a dance.
Harry, the famous Harry Potter, was having a hard a most difficult time finding a date to the Yule Ball. "Maybe I could ask Professor Treelawny to predict who my date will be, or if I even get a date," remarked to no one but himself. Harry took a seat next to Ron. Treelawny made her usual dramatic entrance, wincing when she saw Harry. She must have predicted Harry's death twice a week since his third year at Hogwarts. He just rolled his eyes and slouched down in his seat.
"Good afternoon class, today we will be predicting what our year will be like. I want to know how you see yourself as doing this year. What problems you will come across, and how you will overcome them. Now I know in the past people have made up their "predictions" or so they call them," her eyes drifted to Ron and Harry, " Now I can see that some of you are going to make yours up and trust me I know who you are! Now, who will help me pass out teacups? Harry? Come on, now when you drop that one don't just step over it Harry, pick it up." Sure enough Harry drop the first cup he picked up. Ron and Jessica started to laugh, but stopped when Treelawny shot them a menacing look. The class began to "read" the tealeaves. Harry laughed and began to predict hairy warts on Ron's face, and Jessica was going to be betrayed by her best friend. The was the way the class usually ran, the trio getting dirty looks from Treelawny's two best students, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil.
"Now, everyone, please can I have your attention?" Professor Treelawny asked, peering over her bug-eye glasses. She waited for the class to quiet down, "Tomorrow, we are going to have an oral presentation, to show the skill we have either developed or have not developed." She once again glanced over Harry and Ron's way.
"I think she's caught on," Jessica said sarcastically, making the class laugh. Treelawny did not like that, but she acted as though it didn't bother her. She continued with the requirements, and the procedure of the sudden presentation.
When the bell finally rang Harry, Ron, and Jessica met Chelsea and Hermione and made their way to Potions. To their surprise it wasn't Snape at the front of the class, it was Dumbledore. Harry and Ron smiled and waved to the headmaster. He smiled and explained that Snape had not felt well and requested the day off. They didn't mind, Dumbledore was better than Snape any day. They took their seats wondering what Dumbledore has planned for them. Draco Malfoy and the rest of the Slytherins were not as happy about Dumbledore teaching, and they made that clear to Snape the next day.
Harry and the rest of the Gryffindors had enjoyed Dumbledore's lesson, he continued the lesson on Polyjuice, except he explained it in away the students could understand. At the end of class Harry and Ron stopped to talk to Dumbledore.
"Professor, why can't you teach Potions? You made it so much fun!"
Ron sound so eager to convince him.
Dumbledore just smiled and replied, "Now Mr. Weasley, you know Professor Snape is the potions master at our school." With that he walked away.
